Hi. Managed to make the vídeo capture device work o a surface RT this way. Only had to change the driver on settings and runs great. I think it is a good news for those Who have RT's laying down on a drawer
Cool setup! I csnt see a big use case for it as most my monitors have hdmi, and my tablets aren't big enough for dex really. Nice video though! Glad to see a way to make it happen if I ever did need it
Fantastic. Sometimes you only use one device with DeX and since you can't sync dex states between devices this allows you to no have to switch between dex instances. Nice work around!
Today you can already mirror the DeX of your smartphone on the Tab S7 or S7 +. And use the mouse and keyboard. This functionality is native to One UI 3.0. Samsung, give the Tab S7 to your friend. Please!
Ok now please let us know... why were you searching it? Why did you want that functionality? Just curious. I've scratching my heads trying to think of a situation. I mean I can think of a few, but not any that are likely to really happen xD
@@johnmiller2905 This is how I would use it. I have 3 devices: note20 ultra, tab s7+, tabs3. I am thinking of going back to school for another degree in engineering. I would be required to have a laptop with: i7, 16 gb ram, 1 tb ssd, and 4gb vram. Rather than purchase a laptop, I can use parsec to connect to my pc at home that exceeds those laptop specs. The tab s3 is not responsive enough anymore to take notes, so I would use the s7+. Now I can use dex on my note20 ultra, feed the video to my tab s3, connect to my pc with parsec, and have a remote computer powerful enough to run the programs required on a display large enough to use. I know it's a lot, and if I could find a wireless option, I'd prefer it. I really do not want to drop $1200-$2000 for a laptop when I have the power I'll need at home.
There are some pretty powerful power banks in the market now, they can output up to 140 kw (tho those are heavy). I think if u have battery in ur tablet then a 15W-20W power bank will do, and there are 10000mAh that are really cheap
Very important question! Have you tried installing an old Samsung with Dex function in an empty laptop case? You can buy an old Samsung s8 for $ 50 and an old laptop that has a working display. Using adapters, connect the display to the Samsung and hide it in the laptop case.☝️🤓
can you try it in rasberry 7inch screen with touch screen? because i trying searching if the samsung dex can work on 7inch touch screen rasberry but no result I just wonder if could work or not
Hello, I followed the tutorial for connecting the phone to a tablet in dex mode and I encounter the following error: - 256 / there is no space left on the device. uvc device error. it is about the pro version, and the devices are a note 20 ultra and a samsung A8 tablet with usb C plug bought 2 days ago. I mention that I tried to replace the tablet with another device and it worked, so the problem should be with the tablet (3Gb ram, 32Gb memory)
I need a dex display as you do. I have had all the hardware connectors as seen in the video and installed USB Cam Pro apps paid from GPlay, but when I tried to connect my galaxy S24 (basic) to my galaxy tab A8, it said 256/no space left on device / uvc device error.. where did it go wrong?? Is my tablet simply just incompatible? Will you help explaining?
HI MRP I HAVE AN NOTE 10 PLUS WITH WATER DAMAGED DISPLAY AND I HAVE A MINI GENERATION IPAD .I WANT TO USE SAMSUNG DEX FEOM MY PHONE AND WANT TO USE IPAD AS ITS DISPLAY CAN U TELL ME WHATS THE MINIMUM THINGS I REQUIRE TO MAKE IPAD AS DISPLAY FOR MY SAMSUNG DEX PLEASE REPLY THERE NOONE THAT CAN HELP ME WITHOUT U
Hi MRP. Great job friend. I really like what you do and the way you present. I want an advice. Here's the issue. I have - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 - Docking station - HDMI to USB video capture - OTG cable - Galaxy Tab E T561 I would like to use this tablet as an external monitor to display Samsung DEX desktop The trouble is that the tablet seems not to reconize the HDMI device when I connect it therefore it may does not support Camera OTG. Is there a way to make it work? Any help or advice, I would be grateful
Hi there, what about battery drain from the Note 4/Tab? How do you solve it? Does it feed from the hub? As far as I know, the power out from the wall to the hub is just to have enough juice for all the devices but not for charging. I will really appreciate it if you answer me. By the way good job, your channel is unique, keep going
this channel keep amazing me. with what you can do this same Samsung Dex. with your channel and Dex we all here can make the full time switch to only Dex. if you have not seen the video on making a Raspberry Pi on Dex you need to. now that is crazy and really cool at the same time.
Amazing, thank you for sharing. I have watched a brazilian youtuber using same setup but the samsung dex mode works in his own phone without any external monitor .
Late to this but will it really work on any tablet? Blackview Tab11 (10")? - which doesn't seem to have any video out on the usb-c port. Any thoughts please? Thanks
Yes. You can run OBS or something similar on windows to see what capture card is getting. Don't expect good performance. As this capture card adds a bit of latency to the video stream and on top of that OBS can be a bit slow on older computers.
Can I use a s7 plus tablet as a second monitor with any laptop using a usb C thunderbolt or HDMI cable ? I want to have the best performance and write with the pen on the tablet but using windows ...is possible saw the second monitor wireless Mode but I don't know if is possible using a cable, I am using a xp-pen graphic tablet with a laptop but I need a touch screen monitor with pen.

What app did you install on the Surface RT to make it work?
@@GaSM03Key no app. Only change the driver when connecting a usb capture device to RT.
I was able to get it to work by changing the driver to USB camera and used the camera app but it is very laggy.
Cool setup! I csnt see a big use case for it as most my monitors have hdmi, and my tablets aren't big enough for dex really. Nice video though! Glad to see a way to make it happen if I ever did need it

Yesterday I searched about how to connect you dex to another phone. Today you released a video thanks

Hey that's an amazing work around! Props to you on saving $1,000 by doing all that!!!! 👌
Any way to make it into a smart phone camera monitor? Wireless would be nice
Realy cool setup, I using this, thanks a lot for the video
Love what you did just want and need to do this without plugging into the wall as I want to do this at a coffee shop or on the go.. any work around??

App that i am mentioning in this video. Do you have that installed before connecting HDMI capture card in to OTG adapter ?

Thank you for reply.
Yes I dit. I made a research and sadly dicovered that this tab does not support OTG...bad invest.
ooooo :/
It is more convenient than other method you taught last year. Now we have more possibilities.

Try it to device with mediatek chipset.. does it work?
@MRP please answer my question.. thx
IM LOOKIN INTO THIS ALSO IS THERE A WAY TO USE MY DEX FROM MY PHONE TO MY TAB S8 USING TYPE C OR WIRELESS?
Can I just use a type c to type c cable to output dex from note 10+ to any android tablet that has a type c port?
will this work for samsung galaxy tab a8?
Have you tried? I also want to connect dex from S24 to be displayed in Galaxy Tab A8. But it doesn't work.
Can you use the tablet touch screen instead of mouse and keyboard?
Can we use Samsung galaxy note 4 as Cpu and run on monitor ..just share note 4 screen on tv or monitor
I was not convinced :)
Its a good video and I know why you did this. But still why????
It's possible without the HDMI capture card?

Check out the app "super display" in the store it the built in functionality of one UI 3.1 doesn't cut it for you.
Very cool stuff - thank you!
Great Video 🎉
does it work on a kindle 10?
:) nop
