Wilder's looping punches are effective against heavybags like Stiverne, but we haven't seen him knockout anyone with head movement and counter-punching at the top of the division. AJ on the other hand has finished numerous prospects, contenders, veterans and an all-time great in Wlad with fast technical punches and sustained pressure/ring generalship. That is why there is a difference in the respect given to AJ and Wilder by experts like Lampley.

I haven't only being paying attention to the fights but the way each of these fighters portrays and carries himself outside of the ring and pre and post match press conferences and what I have ascertained is a fragility in Wilder that Joshua will exploit once the two of them meet in the ring. Wilder has a nostalgia and a sadness about him as if he believes it is his right to be the best heavyweight in the world, knowing he actually might not be. I won't get into his right hand. Joshua on the other hand is not of that world. The title is important to him, but secondary to what is important to him as man, and that is to prove to himself that he is the best that he can be. If he failed in his attempt to be the best, he would try again. But I don't see this happening. He is also a shrewd businessman surrounded by a team of very skilled people. It will be gold versus bronze when they meet and even though Wilder's right hand (shit I mentioned it) is most definitely a wrecking machine, what has he got that Joshua doesn't? Of course, all of this is conjecture and each could beat the other, but my mind and money is on Joshua, though my heart would possibly bleed for Wilder. Joshua is of the new breed of boxers, super athletes able to combine power, speed, mental acumen, precision and strength of character. Wilder has not been tested, REALLY tested, but has been rocked. What has he learned? That he can knock people out and make them do funny things? Joshua is beautiful. Take that how you will. Wilder is a little bit like a little boy dressing like a pimp and what not.

I haven't only being paying attention to the fights but the way each of these fighters portrays and carries himself outside of the ring and pre and post match press conferences and what I have ascertained is a fragility in Wilder that Joshua will exploit once the two of them meet in the ring. Wilder has a nostalgia and a sadness about him as if he believes it is his right to be the best heavyweight in the world, knowing he actually might not be. I won't get into his right hand. Joshua on the other hand is not of that world. The title is important to him, but secondary to what is important to him as man, and that is to prove to himself that he is the best that he can be. If he failed in his attempt to be the best, he would try again. But I don't see this happening. He is also a shrewd businessman surrounded by a team of very skilled people. It will be gold versus bronze when they meet and even though Wilder's right hand (shit I mentioned it) is most definitely a wrecking machine, what has he got that Joshua doesn't? Of course, all of this is conjecture and each could beat the other, but my mind and money is on Joshua, though my heart would possibly bleed for Wilder. Joshua is of the new breed of boxers, super athletes able to combine power, speed, mental acumen, precision and strength of character. Wilder has not been tested, REALLY tested, but has been rocked. What has he learned? That he can knock people out and make them do funny things? Joshua is beautiful. Take that how you will. Wilder is a little bit like a little boy dressing like a pimp and what not.

It's funny how most of you are saying that Wilder has fought bums his entire career. No man has super powers in the ring in heavyweight boxing on any given night you can be knocked out by a no name, so you just can't say he fought bums. I boxed in the amateur ranks when I was young in my state I won the golden glove championship twice my record was 140 - 22 yes I lost 22 fights you just never know who might beat you on any given day and that goes for Wilder and Joshua. You have to respect each boxer they both possess great power. Joshua is more technically sound and Wilder is a bit more slick and kind of awkward but effective so you really don't know we'll have to see this fight period.

Yeah, Joshua is levels above Washington, and if he could parry Wilder so easily, Joshua will absolutely be the man in charge of the jab all night. I am a fan of both, but we have to be realistic. You cant just praise Wilder because he could jab well against an immobile Stiverne or Arreola, and say Wilder has an inside game or good check-hook because he used it against Duhaupas or Molina. Both men are strong offensive fighters with huge power, especially with Wilder having the very explosive power and athletic edge. But both men come with their drawbacks... Joshua having some stiffness and certainly a noticeable stamina problem, and Wilder having far less technical skill and especially on the inside. Wilder fans are forgetting also that AJ wasn't intimidated by Klitschko's constant pressure. That's what make Wladimir Klitschko so great, was his ability to be on top of you at all times, but ALWAYS half a step out of your reach .. this is what worked so well against AJ, it nullified to a large extent his power (until he KOed Wlad). Wilder on the other hand does not fight on the front foot .. he has been backed up by C level fighters his entire career.
