I thought the idea behind splitboards was to put skins on and use them as ski's to hike up into back country then be able to ride it back down as a board! Not to ride down as skis lol
I mean, why limit yourself? Why can't they be both cross country/climbing skis, a snowboard as well as downhill skis? If there's a reason why they can't work as normal downhill skis, do tell me! I've never tried a splitboard, but the appeal to me was essentially having both downhill skis and a snowboard in the same kit.
@@RaccooNooB my parents made us ski for two years before snowboarding, not that I really remember how after years of snowboarding, but now that I'm looking at my next board this seems like a good idea just for the fun factor of being able to change modes.
If you have a splitboard with edges all around bought halfs, board hooks which can be turned away from the edge and heel lockers, then this is absolut no stress. But not that fun on the slopes. Just powder
hands down the best splitboard video. Exactly what im looking for.
I know this is a joke, but as someone who both skis, snowboards and ice climbs. I know I'm getting a splitboard now with some locking bindings
Love this place, went there January of this year
Would this count as skiing if you went to Alta?
no
Lol I want to try that so bad
I would have no problem with it if u keep it split apart. It is literally skiing so no one would care. Seems like a look of work for a not great award
First thing I thought of

Looks like you got options once you’re at the top😂 ski or board down, take your pick lol
@@RaccooNooB Well, you'd better not to crash as the binding won't release the skis, could potentially cause injury.
@@jasonliu3202Yes they will. They have a din setting of 6 on these bindings. Only problem is the din is non adjustable.
i like the gimbal

Isn't being strapped into skis sketchy when you crash??
Don't crash. Problem solved.
@@shzykh lol if only it was that easy
is this possible ?
O shit, this is val thorens!!
What resort town is this?
Val Thorens, France
How are you securing your heel?
You can buy heel lockers for some bindings
How did you do the bindings so the heel didn't lift out
you have to use a heel locker. it's an extra feature
Probably just get a pair of skis I guess
Ya definitely ski like a snow boarder lol
Valthorens
I guess you can only ski on them in green runs.
Val Thorens?
yes
WTF, the store told me it's not possible to ride a splitboard as skis down a hill. Isn't that exactly what this person is doing?
Hahahah what do they know, they work in a store..it is hard but not impossible
Where can I buy this/ the parts? Blue tomato: "I’m very sorry, but it is not possible to ride a splitboard as ski."
Look at Karakoram bindings with heel lock down system
Proper way to split board is to not do it at all
Travis Rice and Jeremy Jones wouldn't agree with you :)
The skiers look so scarred. Boring ass lines
Skiing still sucks
Should be titled “how to properly look like a dipshit at the resort.” Seriously your splitting at a resort?
