it's true that the tornado v3 is way too fast out of the box and it's quite hard to setup but if you manage to do it this cube is god tier. I can understant why you love the v2 though. My two main problems with it are the size of the cube and the corner cutting but else I love cubing with it and I have actually used it as my backup cube at my comp last week while I mained the v3
Yeah for the v2 corner cutting you really have to control your moves more. After a while you kind of get used to it. And it's just soo smooth. But yeah I'll have to try set up the v3 and see what the fuss is about

Your 3x3 finals story reminds me of that one time where I lost my MGC 4x4, so I had to use this terrible non-magnetic WuQue 4x4 for a competition, and I got a 1:09 average when I average sub-1.
Oh no 😭 it’s kind of crazy how much not having your main can affect your solving sometimes
@@ScoochCubingI once had to use a Gan Pyraminx in finals cause I made my main not comp legal, and I went from a 5.57 Pr Avergae in round 1 to a 12 average in round 2

You can fix your tornado V3 by using a q-tip in the pieces to remove the lube quickly. You could also just open up the tornado and use standard cleaning practices, like wiping it with some paper towels.
Yeah I opened it up cleaned it out a few weeks ago and my friend lubed it a bit. It’s still quite fast but a lot better now. I don’t really understand why you would use a q tip if you can just take it apart and use like tissues or whatever
@@ScoochCubing I used a q-tip a few times bc im lazy and also didn;t wanna fully remove the lube, although I had overlubed it. It's better for removing light amounts of lube.
I was at this comp and was scrambling 3x3, was very confused about whose cube was just sitting there!

I dnf’d my average in my first competition so I’m probably not the best person to ask LOL. But since then I kind of told myself that 2x2 is dumb and just luck based. Like it’s literally just about how good the scramble is. And it’s such a dumb event who cares if you mess up. So that kind of took away my nerves

I’m pretty sure that this was held at lisnasharragh (sorry for spelling) leisure centre and if I’m correct, i live super close by. Do you know if there will be a summer competition? I don’t want to wait a whole year as i missed this one 😢
Yes it was there! I don’t think there will be another one there for the rest of the year unfortunately. They normally happen annually, so there could be another one in next January

Haha thanks! For learning CLL use an algorithm trainer. The one I always use and still use is j perm’s trainer: jperm.net
Some of the algorithms he use aren’t the best though. Like they’re fine but I think you should learn the algorithms with Antonie Paterakis’s UA-cam tutorials, he has European record average. Then you can use his algs with the jperm.net trainer (you don’t necessarily have to type in each individual algorithm into the website, just learn from the videos then train recognition with website)

Hey mate, I am averaging 35secs with 2-3 look olls and plls. I should now focus on all oll and pll algos right?
Yeah learn full PLL. It will take a while and it will be a struggle sometimes, but it’s so worth it! Also watch a bunch of videos on Cross/F2L tips and tricks, and example solves. Improving at the first two layers will drop your times down a lot

Don’t get it it’s called Video Pad. I don’t recommend it it’s way to overpriced and slow. Get something like Sony vegas instead

What events do you think should be taken out of the WCA and what puzzles should be added?
To be honest I like the event list how it is now. Like they could have done with not adding 7x7 but now that’s it’s there and thousands have grinded it so much, it doesn’t make sense to remove it in my opinion. And I think there’s enough events there to add any more. What about you?

how long does it take to learn cll and eg-1?
For cll if you're at it every day it would take 2 weeks. And eg-1 is about the same because the algorithms are a bit more complex but learning recognition would be easier from practising cll recognition so much

I use a bad editor it's called Video Pad Video Editor. Don't get it it's way too overpriced and slow. Get something like sony vegas instead if you're starting out.

That's actually pretty good for just ortega. You can easily get sub 5 with a bit more practice. Then you can try learning CLL

basically 1 look as many solves as possible, use eg1 and cll and learn a few awkward eg2s if you want to (when anti cll is trash). watch example solves to learn better first face solutions

Yeah I probably should’ve got the flagship. My thoughts were basically the pioneer is more expensive so it must be better. I was quite wrong haha
Wait wtf you don't know how to setup cubes at all? If a cube is too fast just drop some more lube in it or increase the spring tensions, if it's too flimsy tighten spring travel. Also out of the box 3x3s are usually fast and uncontrollable, after break in they should slow down a bit.
I mean you got sponsored so I guess you'll be getting setup cubes from now on anyways, but it takes like 10 minutes to learn how to setup cubes.
The tornado V3 is a very fast cube but you can always slow down fast cubes with setup. But you probably should have got the V3 flagship as that cube is slower. The V2 doesn't corner cut that well so you'll always lockup with it more.
Yeah I should really get used to setting up. I've done bits and pieces before but nothing too much. Thanks for the advice
