For zone 5/6 most of those will grow and survive under cover. But LV gets cold in the winter. 20’s isn’t that unusual

I put a couple and had like 4 volunteers from last yr in my green house and it became a jungle. I had vines tied up onto my hanging baskets with strawberries, I have other plants in there that did get a bit crowded, I eventually had to start cutting them back. We just had a really cold snap like maybe 4 weeks ago. I got my last ones then, but fermented and dehydrated some so we'll still have some for quite some time. They put out like crazy whether the large cherry or the normal size cherry...over 8 feet tall all of them.

I just got an allotment in Scotland and Im really scratching my head about what to grow.
The weather here is very Nordic, with long lazy warm summers, and equally predictable long dark winters. Im trying to figure out what to grow by season, because I dont want to basically spend 6 months on and 6 months off. My latitude is North of Moscow, although the weather is actually quite clement, but its really hard working out what to grow when more than half the year is a frost zone.

Great video, John! Didn't realize you ever got snow, in zone 9 too, w0w! It's really surprising how many people don't realize that they can garden in the winter. I'm in a zone 9 as well, and winter is my absolute favorite time of the year to garden because it's much more pleasant without all the pests and mosquitoes and weeds and triple digit temperatures. Most of the really nutrient dense crops seem to be the cold-hardy ones as well. Your garden looks beautiful, thanks for sharing and hope you are well

I'm in KY and I have found that Russian Heirlooms and Chinese greens as well are awesome, cold hearty, disease resistant, and survive in my hot house, which is a make shift greenhouse made with plastic as the roof and walls, framed up with a tent frame, all winter long. I have had chard last for two winters and on to a third before I took em out to plant somethin else.
