That was so fun! Amina was a very relatable character and I thought was an excellent straightman to Ragna's/Harris' antics. I felt Harris' worldbuilding for "the Northiest North" was really well-integrated and I'm excited to learn more about the other character's heritages. Speaking of, I can think of no better way to teach tolerance and empathy than a multicultural RPG session; outstanding work, Bill. And obviously Fen and Connor are top-tier veteran roleplayers. Looking forward to the next ep.
Thanks for that! I would have completely missed the outtakes and they were absolutely Hilarious! Well done everyone! I just rolled a 100 on my percentile dice and had a vision whispered to me from The Karafa that this is going to be an absolutely iconic season!
20 : 20 Shortswords work on the back, anything longer tends to need some special setup, or particularly longer arms. Generally, you are restricted to the length spanning your fingertips to your armpit, with the arm held straight out in front of you, this being the span you can draw from the back. Been eyeballing the Landsknecht Emporium Gustav messer, it works as a back carry shortsword just need ta set up the carry system. Quarterstaff is underrated, they are so effective people don't practice sparring with them full force, or even often at all, because it wrecks sparring gear. Armour works, but most sparring clubs focus on unarmoured techniques and/or manuals.
Oh, and slings are devastating and came in different "models" if you will, some were for longer range, and some shorter and meant for faster "fire", nice lil rabbit hole to fall down. They also had different bullets not just in material, but in design, they weren't all rounded river stones.
Have heard from folks that a home throwing range can be fun, just make sure ta assemble and locate them properly, ya know, basic etiquette and safety. Love how the players reacted to the "Red Robin Inn", would definitely hang around there as I love me some good breakfast.
9 30 The weapon she speaks of sounds like a war axe or battleaxe, they had a great deal of variety in make and design through the ages, some are more oriented for flesh or textile armour cutting, and others are more capable serving as hewing weapons, they cleave and crush, which works better for dealing with plate and other more resilient armours. They also varied in use from one handed and on foot, ta two handed and horseback, the horseman's variants developed little disks or "rondels" on each end of the grip, to help lock it into the hand. 10 19 Warhammers and pole hammers are one of the most misrepresented in fantasy, they depict them with head so large, they would weigh as much as the person. Real one's didn't need large heads, they used distribution of mass to strike with force, the small head also helps to focus the energy into a smaller spot vs spreading it out more and lessening the effect of a blow. They were also quite light overall; this means it could be accelerated and decelerated by a skilled user easily and conserves the fighter's energy. Would drop some links to examples, stuff that could inspire and all that, but YT hates links and will throw comments into the pile. Will say, it's kinda hard to find good replicas of these weapons without going custom, which is ironic considering hafted weapons have traditionally been cheaper and easier to make than non-hafted weapons.
Would love ta get a good polehammer, axe, and halberd. I have spotted a guy who makes great halberds, but....gonna have ta save up mad dosh ta get it. Reach is king, in martial and ranged combat, any combat at all really. And if Bill tries ta make you go into caves or other cramped quarters, that's why you pack a shortsword or an arming sword, a shield if ya can manage.
You are all back again :) I love the opening warning more so with the part of non adults who are easily triggered and yes I know you said and people but if you are that easily triggered then I would not really call you an adult.
These kids are based. Sounds like they see through the 'super-duper-special-snowflake-coffeeshop-barista-hogwarts-prom-social justice' poppycock that they're trying to sell as D&D nowadays.
Well done. Fantastic production and your players are awesome!
Singularly the best RPG sessions on the internet.
This crew has great chemistry, looking forward to the season!
The Red Robin Inn description was tremendous.
Thanks everyone, great show!

I look forward to more 'socialising'.

Fun stuff and look forward to the rest of the season. I have the game but never had a chance to get the group to play it.
Rule #1 . Know your character and their abilities.
:)
@@BillAllanWorld Sorry about all the messages, I thought I was in live chat.
