Sounds like my audio gets butchered at the end for no discernable reason... AGAIN. Sorry about that! I will have to comb through my render settings to figure out why this happens at random.

Thanks again for another great vid. Am slowly becoming a convert to amp sims. There is such a lot to try out, and so many ways to use the different software, so videos like this really help.

Great video as always bud! Just wondering, are you still using the original version of NadIR because you just haven't upgraded yet or do you prefer it? I feel like I'm getting pretty good results with the new version but I didn't get a lot of time with the old one so I'm curious. Thanks for all the free content/information!!

I usually stick to the old NadIR when I use TPA-1 at the same time. This prevents me from accidentally double stacking the resonance control, which is found in both TPA-1 and the new NadIR to simulate speaker reactance. If I don't need power amp simulation though, I use the new NadIR for the nicer GUI and list functionality. They both sound the same, though I think the new version is slightly more CPU intensive.

@@PlagueScytheStudios Aha, great to know. Wasn't sure exactly if the resonance controls were the same on TPA-1 and NadIR, and if I'm correct it's only really useful if your impulses aren't power amp colored, right? For instance, I'm using the JST Conquer All right now and they have versions with a Marshall tube power amp and a 5150 power amp, and I take it you'd just leave power amp simulation off? Obviously I need to decide for myself, but I just like knowing what other creators do with a similar setup. Thanks again for the useful knowledge, and looking forward to your next original music release!

Correct. In theory (for high gain tones anyway) the power amp's frequency response contribution can be decently mimicked with an IR since it shouldn't be breaking up. With that said, there is something about the real deal or even emulations that I find pleasing versus a straight up EQ fake. Maybe theres some compression or light clipping going, I'm not sure - I would have to A/B test it to know for sure.

Sounds great man, Can i ask what audio interface do you use for tracking guitars ?

Considering he used to program for Brainworks I think it was, I gotta say I was a little deflated with his products, even the premium ones. I felt taranovs plugins, especially some for free felt a lot more "alive" and realistic. These fell a little short for me. Just my 2c.

Each guitarist has their own play style, at 15:50 you have a bend that I heard in some of your videos ;)

Thanks for the video. This preamp is a good clean to to dirty sound. Not as noisy as other free preamps out there. Thanks again.
