The Lost Boys of Westway (2020) | A Sticky Fingers Short Documentary
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 січ 2025
- The Lost Boys of Westway is a short, observational documentary that takes a deep dive into the controversial Australian band, ‘Sticky Fingers’, exploring their infamous rise to fame and their abrupt fall from grace. It shines a light on the serious allegations that the band had been caught up in that would see them blacklisted from the radio and ultimately outcast by the Australian music media. By bringing forth all the facts of these allegations the documentary allows the audience to decide where they stand and asks the question of what does it take to really separate the art from the artist?
$500 was donated directly to the Movember Foundation for men's mental health through the generous crowd funding campaign for this film.

No rock n roll band makes it without knocking a couple glasses over
Well said Jimmy. Just hope they all rise above the past. Very talented Group of individuals.
Hugely talented they’re incredible and shit fuckijg happens like he said if it didn’t happen they’d be sooooo much bigger. I can’t type this comment fast enough to get back to watching this slick editing either!! Top notch fellas all around the world
Perfect example of social media blowing something completely out of proportion. People are so sensitive and entitled these days it honestly makes me sick.
Shut up and enjoy the vibes. Sticky Fingers have made a huge impact on my life, their music helps me immensely with my own mental health issues.
Sticky fingers changed my life! I will honestly love them to the death. People fuck up! People make mistakes. People deal with a lot of shit. But those boys have taught me one thing! Stay strong because you will get through it no matter what!! Thanks so much for this I literally balled my eyes out long love STIFI ❤️
👏🏽👏🏽 same mate
Minority will always be attacked thats why it keeps being not the norm. I can say that a reason for how he REacted. Their music will always be guide to the real reality.
Find it funny how every witness to the incident told a completely different story to Thelma's, also "boys will be boys" was a response to the physical infighting in the band, they even said this afterwards. But none of this fits the woke generations narrative.
Literally was no proof of thelma plum incident but there is proof of thelma attacking verbally paddy's gf and family through text
I love that Freddy came out about them not completely understanding mental health and defending Dylan
My mates were in that Dispossessed band, and while I loved them and their music, I have to side with Sticky Fingers. In a video that Dispossessed themselves uploaded to UA-cam, it's clear that Dylan was actually SUPPORTING Dispossessed while the rest of the audience were rudely heckling them. Dylan was one of the few people supporting them in that crowd, and ironically he got punished for it.
Thats true? damn
Exactly!!
Just kiss the breeze boys
I watched that clip. Honestly the guy from Dispossessed was close to belligerent with the crowd, guilt tripping them into listening and staying quiet while he lectured. He may have had some great things to say with passion behind those words but his delivery was rude. Dylan clearly does not engage and was part of a group of music fans who were waiting to get past this guys rant/lecture. Part of the Dispossessed show, I guess, lecturing the sons and daughters of the colonizers. Dizza got framed for sure.
@@amyhayutin1738 gets even juicier when you find out the dude in question was accused of r*pe by multiple women. Total scumbag
I found Sticky back in 2015. I was just a teenager and going through a bad time in my life. These guys played a major roll in helping me come out of that season. Sticky Fingers are part of my best memories, and some of my worst. They’ll forever be my favorite group.
That "Bad Taste" in your mouth is something that you've never tasted before, Severe Mental Health.
You got this Dylan, just gotta keep doing your best to get better and happy, having people around that you love and that love you back is 🔑. Also Freddy is a boss for standing up for you on the radio interview ❤
Sticky fingers have helped my through my darkest days as someone with really bad mental health problems I just wish they knew how many lives they’ve changed for the best! Luc you are a goat this is awesome!
If only an apology meant anything to people. Dylan was so obviously sorry. As someone whose father has bipolar schizophrenia, I know that sometimes the illness takes over and makes people do and say things they wouldn’t ever do or say when they are feeling okay. I hope Dylan learns to cope better with his illness. Peace & love, keep that in your heart, Sticky.
Kings of Aus music
Before my mother passed, she had bipolar schizophrenia and a problem with hard drugs, she was never a violent person, but when she had mental episodes or heavy amounts of drugs she did things out of character, and I don’t know Dylan personally, but I can understand how confusing life must be for him. He’s so talented and seems to be a really chill person. I hope he can overcome this battle.
This is such a beauty. For people like me who lives in Countrys where sticky fingers isn't famous know and learn that type of things of the band is such a noticed, i hope one day the band came to my country Argentina and the rest of the world,
everyone needs to listen to the sticky at least once in their life, this is de most wonderful band and sound i heard on my 23 years
I totally agree. I just started listening to them this week and I was so amazed about how great they are. Then I started to get more informed about them and I was feeling a little bit troubled about the allegations against Dylan and the band. But I must admit that this whole year was so hard and this month even more and their music has helped me with my anxiety and depresion. I'm truly grateful for their music. I think that if a person really wants to change, they can do it with help. We must help eachother to be better. We all make mistakes and I think it will be excellent to show people that even famous persons like them can be better because they want to and because society allows them to try. I really hope to see them live. I live in Argentina too so who knows but I'll keep my hopes up. Cheers!🇦🇷❤️🙏🏻
We have all made HUGH mistakes in our life & from those mistakes we LEARN to be better humans. I will always LOVE Sticky Fingers much LOVE from USA 🤘
Thank you for this! It’s sensational you’ve made us fans so happy, big love❤️❤️❤️
"i care more about a "rumor" about a band than their actual talent"
this is incredible! thank you for this
Your music is timeless lads. Keep doing it. Every few months someone who haven't heard you will hear you guys through my work radio connected to my phone Bluetooth and they are hooked.
Acoustic album...
The real raw authenticity of this band is what's so meaningful to us fans!
THANK YOU FOR THIS
Thank you so much for this! It is really interesting to have an in-depth view of all of this.
I personally understand the people that have been hurt by the "scandal", and quite honestly I sometimes feel like I am not sharing the value, moral, or lifestyle they display. However, their music and the emotions it conveys are for me the living proof that they have their heart in the right place. They are genuine, whether it has been in the "bad" they've done or in the "apologies path" they're on.
I can honestly say that Sticky Fingers music has been a support for me throughout the years and wouldn't be surprise to hear that it has been the case for thousands of other people. So I wouldn't be so quick to draw a line between good and evil.
The question of separating the art from the artist is a tough one. How many people still listening to MJ or watching Polanski's movies despite them having been recognized as pedophiles?
In the case of Sticky Fingers, I can only say that I am seeing a group of men, trying to face their demons like we are all trying to, except that they are a public figure. We should try and avoid being judges as we are already full of our own flaws. It's important to condemn things, take a stand for what you believe is important, just as it is important to accept true apologies and the fact that people can change.
Love
Well said mate
So stoked you guys made this. Saw it on the fb page ages ago and have been waiting for her to come out and it is awesome.
Grazie fratello, speriamo di vederli presto qui da noi in Italia!

Well done @Luc La Rossa . Long live STIFI, no amount of right or wrong can take away from the memories, sad and happy that have been created to these boys music.
Wow so glad someone finally told their side of the story, how did I miss this till now
amazing documentary; I didn’t know about any of this beforehand... thank you for this. I’ve always loved them before this and I truly hope for the best for all involved, I can’t see myself changing the way I feel about them now. Their music is so deeply ingrained in so many fond memories of mine including friends who’ve since passed away. I love stifi and the feels they bring

This was so good! Thanks so much for putting this together. Cheers from Brazil o/
great vid, can't wait for their next album
Sticky Fingers was the soundtrack that changed my life, I don't feel it's fair that they have been punished as much as they did ... let's value the change they are undergoing and hopefully there will be sticky fingers for a while. Greetings from Argentina
Myself Jack Parris being a massive fan of Sticky Fingers and Dylan Frost especially since I was 15,
Now being 26 no drama bothers me of what's happened in drunk arguments.
Im here for the music
Of course it was an inconvenience for Dylan to be there justifying his actions.
Are people that thick how would you feel being on national radio justifying your actions from an argument or possibly a mistake you've made ?
Everyone makes mistakes
If everything we did or said were to be recorded
Everyone would be canceled!
Sticky fingers have been there during my darkest days, I can't even put into words the impact they had in my life!
Love, respect from Nagaland!

There is something to be said about the intent or choice of responding to hate with love or otherwise. As Ajahn Brahm says, fundamentally, there aren't any bad people. There are people that do bad things (some more than others). But everyone is capable of some good. If we respond uniformly with love, that takes us all in a direction that should benefit us all in the longer run. The greater good.
I love their music. Been an integral part of so many moments in my life, both mundane and thrilling.
tripple J released an apology to dylan for spreading false rumors, then deleted it the next day
Great work
Dylan Frost is such an inspiration to me! Mad love Sticky Fingers ❤️ 2023
What song at @7:19? Please someone help? I really need that soong
Thank youuu dylan for all of your songs❤ love from the Philippines
Yours To Keep
sad to see people actually hating on these guys. Every witness can confirm Dyls story. Move on. LIke he said shit happens and we say sorry and move on. What do these people want to happen, him to die? Seriously. Imagine feeling so superior that you think someone who messes up deserves a life sentence. Most people that think that way would have so much dirt on themselves we could cancel them 10x over.
Incredible...
12:25 , what song is that please????????
Liquorlip Loaded Gun
great job on this!
good work boys, would of been better if the guys getting interviewed weren’t talking shit the whole time😂
Amazing!
Love from Argentina!! 🙏🏻❤️🇦🇷
This was bloody phenomenal. Sticky diehard through thick and thin
Lol i have cried like more then hundred times after singing their songs -most of the time sober and now after 5 years of cyclone beeing my favourite song ever i see this video and guess what. I dont care. Their music have soul. And im in love with that soul's art.
A MAZ ING! Great job bro loved it
They’ve been treated like terrorists by so many people it’s unbelievable…. humans make mistakes, but not many make music as good as these legends
I'm still struggling to understand what they've done wrong?🤷♂️
These journalists are horribly contradictory.
This video is a lot in such a good way. 10/10
Paige Moore was there and experienced it first-hand, I feel, with the most objectivity possible in that difficult situation. Yes, Dylan is responsible for being wasted and getting into an argument with Thelma Plum which I'm sure felt very threatening to her. When men lash out and are intoxicated in any way it not only can be mentally but also physically threatening to a women and for that Dylan is responsible for making that right. People also have a right to judge him for that if they choose and not like nor support him. What wasn't right though in the same token was Thelma's repeated vocal threats to Dylan that night that she was going to run his career, which she went full out on. This is where you have to do some real critical thinking on your own about how you may put harsh judgment on someone who doesn't deserve to be a racist, womanizer, etc.
Their music has really touched my life no matter what they have been through ill always love their music lots of love from Indian.
Let's be honest. Even before all of this no one was getting their sense of morality from the sticky fingers. They're a party band. For this woman to act like she was completely okay with them before Dylan said that and now she just can't get over his comment is ridiculous. Where were you on your high horse for the first 10 years
Going back and watching this now since the pandemic and everything in between on social media.. this whole bandwagoning of misunderstanding and saturated judgement for something no one really knew the truth about was just the beginning of a giant wave.. you can see it everywhere now online.. so much opinion with so little knowledge. So much hate and judgement from people with no clue.
Thank you for this luc la rossa ❤️
parabéns pelo trabalho, é tão bom ver algo a mais sobre os meninos, haviam coisas que eu nem sabia! mas eu só queria q tivesse umas legenda :(
What a video! Good work!
Peace & love from MALAYSIA.
Shit happened yeah and prove their authentic human being who surpassed the ability to catch humans' heart with love.
A lil problem makes me love them more.
I love Sticky. If you choose to not listen to them because of their past, that's completely fine. To each their own, nothing wrong with that. But to the people who abuse them and their fans online to keep a dead narrative running is just stupid. You're hypocritical. If you don't like them, move on. Forget about them.
Also great documentary. Well shot, interviews were great. Sick editing too!
@@mattjames9952 Thank you mate!
Great video mate 👌🏼
fuck people are so precious. who would ever want to be in the public eye ?
Idc abt the controversy, keen for new stifi!
They are still great... since a first day i listen to them in 2014 bomboclaat to all haters
What’s the first song called where they start laying live in concert when the beginning trailer names are being showed?
Land of Pleasure
Regardless of circumstances the music should always be the music. I've made some horrible crazy choices in my life I've been a dark violent person and I have changed and would never do some of those things again. We change we grow we live we learn and we make mistakes. However sound to me like some fuckery going on. Keep yer heads up boys
Hopefully soon they will be allowed back on triple J. They are greatest Aussie band of all time in my opinion. Hearsay shouldn't be the end of people's careers. Yeah there should be a price to pay for their general behaviour but it can't be the complete censorship of their music across across airwaves. Especially considering they have some of the best music out there.
Fact is though, they don’t need them anymore. They know who they are and they can release another 10 albums without needing the approval of the J’s.
F@&k JJJ Defund the ABC I say
Really well put together! Great band!
Whats the song at the end
Hell & Back (Happy Endings EP)
I feel like I'm listening to the next big music phenomenon in a sort of rolling stones way, which is ironic since sticky fingers is also a name from a RS album
13:25 fuck I cried after seen those allegations and he being an asshole because his issues coz I didn't know nothing about this till now, and after seen the support from people in that part, bang! How to fly took me back to my old emotions and the big love made me change my life 🙌🙏 Long live to Stifi 🔥

phenomenal work boys.
Up the boys, love and always will love their impact on australian music.
We all have major fuck ups that we aren’t so proud of but you stick by the ones you love no matter what
Peace and love lads, tru fucken legends yeh
so weird to me that people would stop listening over something like a loud argument between 3 people. The world we live in is so incredibly soft my god, everyones human, nobody is perfect.
Can we seperate the artist from the art? Ingenious doco’ it addresses both sides so the film isn’t bias. You gotta be lost b4 your found nothing but love 4 sticky don’t know what I’d do without them
Love from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 🇲🇾 ~ Stifi for lyfeeeeeeee cheers
This was so good
Do we really live in a society nowadays that are so quick to judge. It only adds to mental health struggles for the individual. Dylan’s ethos tells him the events are trivial and can be forgiven however the politically correct say otherwise.
He’s a true Rocken Roller💪

I think people don't mean to get in other people's business. I think these guys have realised in hind site that when you are in the spotlight on the level of fame they got to you have to be more careful about the moves you make. That's just how it is. I'm sure these dudes heart's have mostly been in the right place. Thanks StiFi for all the lovely music. 🆒👍😎
