"Why are they sleeping in separate beds?" Short answer: Hays Code. Long answer: You already figured out that each episode was transitioning to different eras of family TV sitcoms: Episode 1 is the 50s (I Love Lucy), E2 is the 60s (Bewitched), and E3 is the 70s (Brady Bunch). The show is filmed as appropriate for each era, and there used to be a Production Code that dictated what can and can't be shown in movies and television, such as forbidding showing even married couples sharing a bed because that was deemed as "lewd." It was gradually challenged, minimally enforced after a while, and ultimately replaced by the MPAA film rating system.
@@jowbloe3673 There isnt necessarily 1 show each decade that it takes inspiration from. Wanda is also dressed like Mary tyler Moore would be in the 60s episode.
And people think "cancel culture" and censorship are new things, exclusive to "radical lefties"... they're not. Both sides do cancel culture and have done for a LONG time
The first time a toilet was Flushed & Heard on a TV Show was "All in the Family"(1970s) Th first Tv SHow to show a couple sleeping in the same bed together was "The Flintstone" a cartoon fr the (1960s) .... The first "Real" tv characters to share the same bed were "Mary Kay & Johnny" fr. the tv sitcom "Mary Kay & Johny" (1947 - 1950)
I ADORE watching reactions from people who have a working knowledge of filmmaking -- Eric from Blind Wave, and Natalie here, are so quick on the draw recognizing the little editing easter eggs and tricks that they slip into these early episodes. What a rare opportunity this show must have been, to have the editing, staging, and camera work itself be PART of the storytelling, as opposed to just delivering it.
This series has some of the best, most creative writing I've seen in a long time. You're constantly trying to unwrap the mystery but also sucked in by how entertaining the individual moments are. Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany really show some range here.

I had such a hard time with the first episode, but by the second and third episodes, I was hooked, like no joke. So glad to see you reacting to this one!
The first episode was done in front of a live studio audience, so you're not hearing a laugh track. I think the 2nd episode was with an audience, too. The duo that wrote "Let It Go" in Frozen did the theme songs for each sitcom.
Very grateful for the 3-in-1 review! Waiting each week for a new episode was tough, which you completely said at the start 😁 Love this show and your confused reaction is nostalgic
I know other's have said it before, but you need to watch "A Knight's Tale." It stars Heath Ledger, Alan Tudyk, Paul Bettany, and Mark Addy, and I'm sure you will love it
I'm enjoying how you are reacting to this series. It was executed so brilliantly! Yes it was no accident how it leaves you as a viewer asking so many questions at the end of each episode. It just draws you into the story.
On Vision: "so we get to see the real actor and not just constantly the Vision." That real actor is Paul Bettany and he is so good in a ton of films! My personal favorite, Master and Commander. He's great in that and its a film that would be great for a reaction video!
Yes, Master and Commander would be a perfect reaction video! A Knights Tale too - what a great film. And after Wandavision, maybe the X-Men series would be a good follow up?
Stark didn't start out with just weapons. Remember, Howard was showing off a hover car at the future fair Steve and Bucky went to in the first Captain America movie. Howard was what you might call a futurist. Much like what Walt Disney was to animation here in real life Howard would have been to general technology, always trying to find ways to improve the everyday quality of life in whatever way he could. Cars, toasters, fridges, washers, etc. It was during WWII that Howard started narrowing down and manufacturing weapons. That being said, the commercials have a hidden meaning to them. It's not really that subtle, you just have to match it up with what we know of Wanda's past. The reason they're sleeping in separate beds is because that's what they did back in old Sit-Coms of that era. Even if two characters on a TV show were married you couldn't allude to them possibly having sex on television.
12:45 My understanding was that they had separate beds because at the time period they are mimicking at that point, you couldn't have people sharing a bed on TV or something. If you look at older movies (such as "A Christmas Story") the parents have separate beds. That was what I remembered off the top of my head, but actually going to verify it on my part showed that it wasn't uncommon for regular couples to have different beds, mostly depending on their wealth class. The poorer couples would often share a bed, middle couples could share or have separate, while the very wealthy would have their own rooms. I didn't see anything immediately about it not being allowed on TV, so that may or may not be true.
Re Stark Industries making toasters: well, there are meta reasons for that, but in the MCU Stark and his Dad made lots of things, not only weapons. Howard Stark is first seen trying to 'float' a flying car during WW2; and Tony in IM1 has an early interview where he talks about the intelli-crops they've invented to help solve world hunger.
One last thing. Wandavision and FATWS (for now) are one-season shows that are supposed to continue and expand the story of these MCU characters because they will be more important going forward. Loki is the only show that is getting a season 2 from what I heard
FATWS SPOILERS Is FATWS going to be one season? I thought that since the first season focused more on Sam going from The Falcon into becoming Captain America, they’d make a second season where Bucky goes from The Winter Soldier to The White Wolf. He got that character development into separating himself from the past as The Winter Soldier, but we haven’t really seen his affirmed development into his persona as The White Wolf.
@@genaiofficialmusic I changed a bit the comment because from what I heard they are both done (wandavision definitely) but FATWS could go on if they wanted (for now it's uncertain) SPOILERS⚠️ The fact is that they are working on a Captain America 4 with Sam and probably (definitely) Bucky so they will continue their story there and in following movies like they did for Steve

This is the series that finally got me into the MCU. Before watching Wandavision I couldn't get past the (for me) interminable choreographed fight sequences. From here I watched Age of Ultron for the origin of these great characters and then backwards and forwards thro the rest of the films.
As far as I'm aware, and feel free to correct me if this is incorrect, Disney said from the very beginning that this show would be just a single season.
there was an episode of Twilizone Zone where a kid could control everything to his will. This episode reminded me of that so, so much of that I just was so thrilled, especially being a fan of both Twilight Zone and Marvel.

Each episode skips forward one decade in TV styles Ep1: 50s sitcom style Ep2: 60s sitcom style, the twin beds is because married couples weren't allowed to be shown sleeping in the same bed in the 50s, when they join the beds that is the indicator that we are transitioning into the 60s EP3: is the 70s, the colourisation at the end of episode 2 is the transition from 60s-70s
“He can make himself look human!” Yeah. He did that in Infinity War. Rewatch the part in Age of Ultron where Wanda and Pietro tell Ultron about their childhood. Yeah. Hopefully she didn’t just skim over infinity war. I don’t think she would, but it seems like she watched it and endgame so recently…I’m just surprised she didn’t remember vision could do the human look thing.
Well this is exciting! Definitely one of the MCU’s most drama/character driven installments, and I love the heart of the MCU more than the action. Definitely a brilliant and touching series.
22:06 This commercial is like a parody of old commercials for a product called Calgon that always ended with a woman in the bath saying "Calgon, take me away!".
"why do they have seperate twin beds?" in the 50's (maybe still part of 60's) the sensors didn't allow a couple in the same bed to avoid any hint of impropriety. If they were in the same bed they had to be of course fully clothed and with at least a leg showing or something to make it obvious they aren't laying together
Separate beds were par for the course well into the 60's the first American TV show to show a married couple sharing a bed was the Munster's in 1964 and the second was the Brady Bunch in 1969.
It wasn't JUST tv either. Couples from the 40s-60s culture often had separate beds. My grandmother and grandfather, who was in WWII, had separate beds, I remember, throughout their lives.

If you’re replacing every board one after another (which in this case you are since we’re talking about a scenario where “you” as an individual are working by yourself) you would replace the last piece before the next one is removed thus establishing that piece as part of the existing “boat.”
However....
ViShawn has telekinesis which means he can remove and replace every single piece at once so in his case, no.
Golden moment.. 3:00 I loved it. I watch Natalie break entire seasons/ movies down, from lines stated in the first 15 minutes of a movie and talk about characters clearing a room in the professional, not using kid actors in this show, because they are hard to work with, yet the title escaped her. im not roasting her, as it had a double meaning, but watching her thought process was adorable.
"Why are they sleeping in separate beds?"
Short answer: Hays Code.
Episode 1 is *The Dick Van Dyke Show*
@@jowbloe3673 There isnt necessarily 1 show each decade that it takes inspiration from. Wanda is also dressed like Mary tyler Moore would be in the 60s episode.
And people think "cancel culture" and censorship are new things, exclusive to "radical lefties"... they're not. Both sides do cancel culture and have done for a LONG time
As memory serves, Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore slept in separate beds.
The first time a toilet was Flushed & Heard on a TV Show was "All in the Family"(1970s)
Th first Tv SHow to show a couple sleeping in the same bed together was "The Flintstone" a cartoon fr the (1960s) ....
The first "Real" tv characters to share the same bed were "Mary Kay & Johnny" fr. the tv sitcom "Mary Kay & Johny" (1947 - 1950)
Elizabeth is amazing and left me speechless in this one, omg Wanda is everything
I'm still amused by Wandavision's ominous aspect ratio change.
The most hilarious highlight of this reaction for me was:
"Has anyone ever actually been fanned with grape leaves in modern times... AND LIKED IT?"
:D
"it all starts off as 50's fun, but then there's crying, and existential crisis!" - Jeff Goldblum, maybe....
"I really like Wanda" oh Lord...my heart...hell Nat's heart.

This show had an interesting format.
Ep. 1 WTF?
Ep. 2 Really, WTF?
Ep. 3 Seriously, WTF?
Ep. 4 Oh, that's WTF.
Ep. 5 WTF? Again
Ep. 6 WTF? WTF?
Ep. 7 WTF is going on?
Ep. 8 Well, that explains WTF.
Ep. 9 Conclusion.

Pretty much
This series has some of the best, most creative writing I've seen in a long time. You're constantly trying to unwrap the mystery but also sucked in by how entertaining the individual moments are. Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany really show some range here.
When you said you were taking a break from the MCU I thought you might take a couple months off, Im so glad you did it sooner!
Same
When I saw Geraldine being "Cast out" of Westview, I immediately thought to myself "Welcome back to the MCU." I really enjoyed your reaction to the show. It was grreat watching you make the same speculative questions we made. Not a spoiler, but after this the episodes get a lot busier, you might want to take them 2 by 2 instead of in threes.
It's great to see your channel grow so much! Love your content!
Didn't expect to see you around
LEGENDARY moment
True Avengers moment right here! Absolutely legen- wait for it..............dary!!!!
I love that the crew had the chance to make this.
Every episode brings new cinematography, editing, sets, costumes, makeup, performances and script writing.
You can tell that they everyone had a great time making it.
“He has a ukulele on standby”
I love your MCU reactions!!❤
I should let you know that for the last 3 episodes there are *mid and post credit scenes* that are important for the show and the same thing happens in "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" and "Loki"
Nat laughing how she didn't understand that vision was in wandavision name of show.
Me : ha
Also nat saying "wandavision, like Wanda vision, like television, like her show.."
Me: oh... Right. I didn't think if that.
Nat: HA!
Black Widow comes out on July 9th but honestly if you want you don't have to watch all the shows first because Black Widow was actually supposed to come out before them
Sometimes prequels mention stuff that was revealed in the original
@@sierra1513 Yeah but Black Widow was already done filming in 2020 and was supposed to come out then. They didn't add anything.
Actually I heard that one thing from FATWS would have made more sense if people watched Black Widow before it
I LOVE that they actually used practical effects to portray Wanda’s powers in the early episodes. It’s the little details in this show that always get me.
(introduces Mr. Hart)
NA: "Ok, but why was there a heart on the calender?"
Oh.... this series is gonna test our resolve with Nat. LOL :P
It’s fun to be reminded of how bewildered we all (most all) were as we watched the show the first time through.
Applause to Cameron for those amazing transitions (bumpers?) at the beginning of each episode. Bravo!
"im really excited for Loki"
*Hears Loki Intro Theme in Head*
"Oh its a ride thats for damn sure lol"
“We get to see his real face, not the vision.”
UMM … INFINITY WAR?!?
She's shut that out of her mind due to the trauma.
@@ArlanKels yeah i dont blame her lol
I had such a hard time with the first episode, but by the second and third episodes, I was hooked, like no joke. So glad to see you reacting to this one!
The first episode was done in front of a live studio audience, so you're not hearing a laugh track. I think the 2nd episode was with an audience, too.
The duo that wrote "Let It Go" in Frozen did the theme songs for each sitcom.
Just the first one. Second one was a laugh track. But it's not obvious. I wouldn't know if I hadn't read that it was ONLY the first episode.
On Vision: "so we get to see the real actor and not just constantly the Vision."
That real actor is Paul Bettany and he is so good in a ton of films! My personal favorite, Master and Commander. He's great in that and its a film that would be great for a reaction video!
Can I see your Master and Commander , and raise you, A Knights Tale?
Bet Natalie would also like Inkheart
Yes, Master and Commander would be a perfect reaction video! A Knights Tale too - what a great film. And after Wandavision, maybe the X-Men series would be a good follow up?
Your reaction at 7:47 is how I react to things when I understand the references. I love it!
Wow, congratulations my friend 👏
I can imagine her crying loudly in the future episodes to come.
Hysterical witch laughing
Re Stark Industries making toasters: well, there are meta reasons for that, but in the MCU Stark and his Dad made lots of things, not only weapons. Howard Stark is first seen trying to 'float' a flying car during WW2; and Tony in IM1 has an early interview where he talks about the intelli-crops they've invented to help solve world hunger.
There will only be this one season of wandavision. It’s meant to be just a kickoff of phase 4
@@alphaviki7987 The post credit scene ties it into Dr. Strange. Fiege himself said it was only intended for a season
Like the person below said, Wandavision was always only meant to be 1 season. It will lead right into Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness next year
I can't believe this comment section basically said the same thing 3 times.
I also can't believe this comment section said the same thing twice.
whenever she’s talking about wandas powers or something I’m always like “oh u just wait and see what happens next..😳”
"I have a lot of questions" get ready to keep asking that almost every episode lol.
For real lol. And "Please Stand By" became the bane of my existence. lol
If anyone needs a reason to get Natalie's Patreon, it's this one. Watching her live reactions is so glorious.
One last thing.
Wandavision and FATWS (for now) are one-season shows that are supposed to continue and expand the story of these MCU characters because they will be more important going forward.
Loki is the only show that is getting a season 2 from what I heard
FATWS SPOILERS
Is FATWS going to be one season? I thought that since the first season focused more on Sam going from The Falcon into becoming Captain America, they’d make a second season where Bucky goes from The Winter Soldier to The White Wolf. He got that character development into separating himself from the past as The Winter Soldier, but we haven’t really seen his affirmed development into his persona as The White Wolf.
@@genaiofficialmusic I changed a bit the comment because from what I heard they are both done (wandavision definitely) but FATWS could go on if they wanted (for now it's uncertain)
SPOILERS⚠️
The fact is that they are working on a Captain America 4 with Sam and probably (definitely) Bucky so they will continue their story there and in following movies like they did for Steve
It is nice that you decided to do this show in threes because the show seems to be designed to be watched that way!
Cannot wait to see your reaction to the next one...
Just be aware... Starting with #7, there are mid credits scenes!
Honestly it is going to be interesting to hear Nat's theories that doesn't end with every character being Mephisto.
I’m super excited for you starting this, but yes! Thank you for taking a break! I was a bit marveled out myself. I found your channel back when you were doing Firefly. I love the mix of content.
WandaVision is a whole ride!!
This was the MCU show I thought I'd enjoy the least, and ended up enjoying the most so far
Same here.
YES.
It was good. Definitely different. Falcon and Winter Soldier brought us back to normal MCU content. But Loki has blown them both away. Though the last episode had me screaming "NO!" at my TV.
@Rayhan Pirani Yes. But that was after the screaming of no. Lol
yeah, same. wandavision is my favorite closely followed by loki and then tfatws
I like that UA-cam now shows the most replayed moments. Everybody has rewatched Natalie piecing together that Wanda and Vision are in WandaVision. 2:30 So funny.
Just when you thought you were home free lol
they pull you back in
Now she's..... far from home..... free
I think I have more plans in the next 10 years to watch upcoming Marvel films than I do actual life goals…….and now that I’m saying it out loud I’m realizing how sad that is 😫
I love the edits for each episode title. Really works great with the show. Super stoked that you’ve started watching WandaVision! Can’t wait for more!
Just love how Natalie is trying to figure out all thing, that why it's happening, what is happing and I'm Just sitting back and watching and giggling about it.😄😄😄

"Oh, I Love this old set..." - It's the set from the Dick Van Dyke show with Mary Tyler Moore
Yes. 1 season. It’s meant as a kickoff to phase 4
@@nicksouthwell9393 and lead into doctor strange 2
"Limited series" but yes, single season.
there was an episode of Twilizone Zone where a kid could control everything to his will. This episode reminded me of that so, so much of that I just was so thrilled, especially being a fan of both Twilight Zone and Marvel.
Yesssss I’ve been waiting for this one 🤎🤎
Hi Natalie, huge fan of your channel!
I actually dismissed WandaVision initially, thinking it’s a TV show, eeeeeeeh. It also took me ages to piece that together that it’s actually Wanda and Vision. But boy did I fall in love with the series once I started watching it!
well this is the best part of my day so far
Thanks for watching/reacting to Wandavision! I like watching your content because it is very entertaining and I get to re-live the first time I saw something--and Wandavision is most excellent!
I don't think I've clicked on one of your videos faster!! Lol this show made me love their relationship and the finale broke me.
This is gonna be an emotional rollercoaster for Natalie, and I'm here for it.
Fun fact. Episode 2 is heavily inspired by Bewitched and Agnes' house (the exterior) is the actual house from Bewitched on the WB lot
"I'm still new!" she says, after having seen all the MCU films!
AHHH WE NEED PART TWOOOO!
Each episode skips forward one decade in TV styles
Ep1: 50s sitcom style
Ep2: 60s sitcom style, the twin beds is because married couples weren't allowed to be shown sleeping in the same bed in the 50s, when they join the beds that is the indicator that we are transitioning into the 60s
EP3: is the 70s, the colourisation at the end of episode 2 is the transition from 60s-70s
found your channel the other day and been binge watching your mcu reactions in like a day and now you’re finally watching the seriessss
“He can make himself look human!” Yeah. He did that in Infinity War.
Rewatch the part in Age of Ultron where Wanda and Pietro tell Ultron about their childhood. The toaster commercial might seem interesting after that
Strucker was the hydra leader who experimented on Wanda and her brother with Loki’s scepter
Yeah. Hopefully she didn’t just skim over infinity war. I don’t think she would, but it seems like she watched it and endgame so recently…I’m just surprised she didn’t remember vision could do the human look thing.
Vision is like, the ideal husband. I already liked him and this show made him one of my favourite heroes of all the MCU
"She can just make stuff appear" interesting choice of words...
Haha, I also laughed when she said that.
Oh shit
MEPHISTO!!!!!!
Fanned with a palm frond. Greek meals include items wrapped in grape leaves and yes, palm fronds make perfect fans.
I really love your channel, i watch some reaction video but you're the only reaction channel i really follow, you seem to be having lot of empathy and it's contagious. your reactions look so natural. It's so a pleasure to watch.
You should react to Black Widow the day it comes out, it was supposed to come out before the TV shows anyway. Being early will get you so many more views
there's a slight chance that she'll get her BWidow video taken down if she releases on YT early. Patreons would have a ball tho, probs.
@@lowkeyobsessedngl nah, reaction channels upload videos right after the premiere all the time. Look at Blindwave or The Normies. As long as she respects the edit and doesn't share too much, she'll be fine.
Probably not the best idea - she cant show the film, you have to watch along with your own copy on Patreon and the only people who will have a copy when it comes out will be those who shell out $30 on Disney+... better to wait until at least all D+ subscribers have access to it.
