    Creo que todo el pastel en general está hermoso, pero considero que el corte en el fondant azul, pudo haber sido más prolijo y no tan "así como sea".

    I notice that you did the cake in the same day, wen you wore finished did you deliver it right away? Or you put it in the fridge for next day? I'm really scared wen I get a Oder of cake covered in fondant, it's not my strongest. Lol

    I love it, it's so beautiful!! Learn a lot from your video. TFS. You mentioned your fondant is always sticky. Hmm, do you use Wilton fondant? Wilton fondant is sticky and it has a great marshmallow taste.

    Thank you for the tutorial! Weird question. How do you get the right consistency for your gold paint?

    • @TheLovelyBaker
      @TheLovelyBaker  5 років тому

      Not a weird question at all!! Its all trial and error for me. I only add teensy drops of liquid at a time to my luster dust and I mix until I have a paint like consistency. You want it to be thick enough that its not going to be super patchy and watery when you apply it, but not so thick that its chunky if that makes sense.

    • @mrswheeler501
      @mrswheeler501 5 років тому

      Thank you so much! I was on a time crunch and ended up having the customer buy some cord from the store to wrap. I was finally able to get a more paint-like consistency for the gold. I will email you a pic of the final product. Appreciate you getting back to me!

    What food colors did you use for the fondant? I know you said deep blue but was there any specific color or brand? Thanks!

    • @TheLovelyBaker
      @TheLovelyBaker  7 років тому

      I used the blue shade from the Wilton color right set, which I believe is just the Royal Blue color:)

    Hello sweetie what is the red color you use to achieve that intense color?

    • @TheLovelyBaker
      @TheLovelyBaker  5 років тому

      For deep colors like reds and blacks I buy store bought fondant and like Satin ice brand😊

  • @brittanystanton9488

    Also, how do you trace the fondant so that the knife doesn’t pull the fondant away?? I’m making cupcakes for my son and I tried using a template but as I traced the shape it pulled and then mushed what I had traced together.

    • @TheLovelyBaker
      @TheLovelyBaker  6 років тому

      Make sure your knife is really sharp, wipe it off after a few cuts so that fondant doesn't build up on the blade. It also helps to let your fondant sit just for a min or two after you roll it out so that it isnt super soft and likely to pull.

    • @TheLovelyBaker

      +Megan Askew Hey Megan! I use homemade marshmallow fondant mostly, My Cupcake Addiction has a great recipe if you want to try it. If I do buy my fondant I prefer Satin Ice:)

    • @sarahandemmalemoignan9449
      @sarahandemmalemoignan9449 7 років тому +2

      Megan Askew try adding a tablespoon of crisco to every 2lb of fondant.. It stops the elephant skin. I do it all the time. Best of luck. Xx

    Do you color your own fondant? If so, how do you get the black and red so vibrant?

    • @TheLovelyBaker
      @TheLovelyBaker  7 років тому

      I color my own fondant except for black and red since they can be tough! I tend to buy Satin Ice for those colors.

    You said you wanted it to still cover the board. Was that not the board I was seeing?

    • @cristinasujoy
      @cristinasujoy 6 років тому

      No, under the cake there was a board the exact same size as the cake. What you saw was a base over which she had put the cake on its board. You’ll be able to see it better in the red covered cake, when she puts it over the blue one. The board of that cake was visible before she put the rope over it.

    What do you mean you steam them?

    • @TheLovelyBaker
      @TheLovelyBaker  6 років тому

      It's a completely optional step but since I have to use a bit more corn starch then I'd like to keep the fondant from sticking to my counter, I end up with dusty looking fondant sometimes. To counter this I will use a clothes steamer and lightly go over my cakes with it, this gets rid of the excess cornstarch look. There are a few vids on youtube of how to do it if you are interested.

    Great video. I have never been into Wonder or the actress that played her on the Life show. Not sure why, To Fake looking and her lips look terrible but that’s just my opinion. I want to see Superheroes that get a little Beeten up and bloody. I like the design you did and glad you left her out! Thanks,
