2025 AFCON Qualifier: Eagles Arrive In Nigeria From Libya After Hostage Incident

- The team have just touched down at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and this was after arriving the Malam Aminu Kano international Airport this evening.
Recall that Coach and Technical crew were left stranded without food, WiFi, hotel accommodations, and other logistics for over 15 hours as they arrived at Libya Airport for the second leg of the qualification of CAF AFCON 2025.
The Minister of Sports Development, John Enoh who spoke with newsmen at the Airport, condemned the actions of Libyan authorities, who held Nigeria’s Super Eagles and their officials hostage at Al Abaq Airport.

This is why I always hate it when Nigeria plays north African teams. They always employ some kind of tactic to gain the upper hand. From partial referees and questionable calls to actual psychological warfare and torture tactics. Either CAF censure such behaviour or the rest of sub Sahara Africa create their own tournament to play football fairly with each other.
I think the Libian football federation thought the Nigerian team and officials would not complain and the match will go ahead. It's about time we take a stand about these issues which is common in African football.
