In other words, if you see a fic attributed to orphan_account, it means the author was so ashamed of it that they didn't want anyone to know they wrote it.)

Aziraphale has to grapple with his love for God-and by proxy, his fellow angels-while also disagreeing with their idea to essentially destroy humans. He also has to come to terms with the fact that this disagreement cannot always be settled non-violently like he prefers to do. Heck, he tries to kill Adam one time thinking it's the only way! And don't even get me STARTED on Crowley! He's a demon, a fallen angel! Of course he has a bad outlook of Heaven. And yet, he is seen begging God to help him on occasion. Even though She supposedly abandoned him, he doesn't have it in his heart to abandon Her. All in all, "every Sunday's getting more bleak" referring to Good Omens represents, to me, how so many characters in the series start out seeing God and Heaven as holy and just (Sundays, like church), and then as time goes on, they start to realize the flaws in "The Great Plan" (getting more bleak).

As a person who doesn't read fanfic this felt like looking into depths of the ocean and seeing merely the squirming silhouettes of the horrors lurking miles below.
As an A03 reader / writer I would absolutely not recommend A03 as a starter, usually people get there after being bored or seemingly no more interested in reading the same ff plots and endings , so I kinda see it as last resort! A03 is not the best place to start as it leaves a huge marge on what someone can write about just by including the warning you can absolutely write fictions about the most disturbing/illegal / immortal and taboo things , I believe it can be shocking if you first try reading from that site , sometimes myself am shook at some FF not about the content but about the characters themselves ! You can find some dead actors /singers , you can find TV shows (Kardashians for example ) I didn't read it but was shocked to find that ff about these exist 🤔 guess it all make sense after all a whole rule 34 allow that .

(to anyone thinking of correcting me on this - I am well aware that a lot of religious people write smut, this comment is mostly a joke. I just find the duality of humanity equal parts so funny and fascinating. Imagining a practicing religious individual sitting down to write graphic, detailed erotic fanfiction the length of some books cracks me up. More power to them, though, I have indulged in many a religious Good Omens fic, those tend to be the most angsty and delicious ones. Your contribution to any fandom is highly appreciated.)

@@lilyhawthorne1196 Well, I mean, referring to the first season.. there's so much religious tension and trauma in it. Aziraphale has to grapple with his love for God-and by proxy, his fellow angels-while also disagreeing with their idea to essentially destroy humans. He also has to come to terms with the fact that this disagreement cannot always be settled non-violently like he prefers to do. Heck, he tries to kill Adam one time thinking it's the only way!
And don't even get me STARTED on Crowley! He's a demon, a fallen angel! Of course he has a bad outlook of Heaven. And yet, he is seen begging God to help him on occasion. Even though She supposedly abandoned him, he doesn't have it in his heart to abandon Her.
All in all, "every Sunday's getting more bleak" referring to Good Omens represents, to me, how so many characters in the series start out seeing God and Heaven as holy and just (Sundays, like church), and then as time goes on, they start to realize the flaws in "The Great Plan" (getting more bleak).

Personally I was more surprised to see it pop up with "Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun" though it's actually quite appropriate as one of the main characters struggles with guilt a lot and canonically uses a knife...

As an A03 reader / writer I would absolutely not recommend A03 as a starter, usually people get there after being bored or seemingly no more interested in reading the same ff plots and endings , so I kinda see it as last resort! A03 is not the best place to start as it leaves a huge marge on what someone can write about just by including the warning you can absolutely write fictions about the most disturbing/illegal / immortal and taboo things , I believe it can be shocking if you first try reading from that site , sometimes myself am shook at some FF not about the content but about the characters themselves ! You can find some dead actors /singers , you can find TV shows (Kardashians for example ) I didn't read it but was shocked to find that ff about these exist 🤔 guess it all make sense after all a whole rule 34 allow that .
