Oh yeah… Brock DID run for a touchdown on a great scramble. When the coach keeps calling pass plays, and no runs (10 passes in a row in 2nd half) eventually you get picked, esp by the leading interceptor in the NFL.
The second half was like watching a team practice. Let's run this play again until we get it right. Pearsall was running the same route when Purdy was picked twice. It was like asking the defense to pick him off a second time when the defense knows the route, knows that the Niners are not running, etc. That is why Kyle sent Moody out there for that 58 yard field goal.
8th in yards, 17th in attempts, 7th in qbr, 3 in ypa, all while playing without cmc all year, without Ayuik for 60% of the year, a washed deebo, down to his 4th rb, a bottom 3rd line. These takes are just stupid at this point lol
Joe Burrow does not have a bad roster. It is almost impossible for a QB to have great stats with a bad roster. When a QB has great stats, it means that he is in a great offensive system. lol
Despite the implosion of the Niners this season for a variety of reasons, Purdy's three passing touchdowns and 116.0 passer rating in the Lions game gave him the most games with two or more passing touchdowns and a passer rating of at least 115.0 in a quarterback's first three seasons in NFL history with 15, passing Kansas City Chiefs signal-caller Patrick Mahomes, who recorded 14 such games. Just saying.
@greglyon1402 Up by 4 mid 3rd quarter and what does the "116 passer rating" do?? Blows the game with a horrendous interception followed by another pick that sealed their fate. This is becoming common with this kid. He is what he is, a mid to below average 7th round last pick. He has peaked and we've seen the best he can offer.
This is equally as bad as political propaganda. Purdy had his 4th string rookie running back and ONE starter left on his O line that is bottom of the league. Still cooked most of the game
The mark of a true legit QB is being able to win regardless of who lines up on the field with you. Brock can't win unless he has ALL of the Avengers alongside with him.
@Vic-Vega Again with the excuses. Your division rivals Rams had plenty of injuries. They started 1-4 even n now are your division leaders. Explain that to me
Purdy looks small and untalented surrounded with one of the best rosters in football. Caleb has "Da Bears". Put Purdy in Chicago and he gets pulled week 2 and nobody ever thinks about him again.
@@youngwashragI must be missing something, but did Purdy lead a team to the Championship game and would've won if his defense made a stop in the final drive?
27/35, 377 yards, 4 touchdowns, against one of the top teams in the league. Yeah they lost (by 6) and he had 2 bad picks, but this is a wild overreaction
I agree that Colin is very critical of Brock Purdy, but DET's defense isn't elite with all their injuries. Granted, Purdy, doesn't have all his skill players, but Purdy's play hasn't been elite level, where 60+ million a year makes sense from a strategic view point. 9ers' spending has been a lot less in the last few years because of Purdy's rookie contract. So when Purdy takes a huge chunk of the cap space, SF's roster will be worse if their rookies don't contribute.
This is a garbage take. Multiple starters out and you're comparing 1st round picks to the last pick of the draft who has far exceeded expectations. Mahomes also has an elite play caller with a tight end who's always open and he has played poorly much of this year and last year. Many of the quaterbacks mentioned haven't even sniffed as far in the playoffs as purdy has. He will never be a guy who raises up everyone around him, but he is effective for their current roster construction
Saying mahomes has played poorly immediately says you haven't been watching football or you just been looking at stats. Yall think cuz he's not throwing for 35 TDs every year he's playing poorly, if that was the case they wouldn't be on track to win a 3rd straight SB. Also that multiple starters out excuse can be applied to every other QB this year so not a good argument. Neither is the playoff success, yall need to actually watch games

Injury, death of two infants, No. 1 pick shot, player quitting on the team, and two major holdouts. Sure this happens to all teams, but all at once in the same season?

If Purdy was a first or even second round pick then these narratives wouldn’t exist. Purdy is no worse than someone like Jordan Love, yet no one had a problem with Love being paid because he was a first round pick.

Why does Cowherd act like he's paying Purdy's salary. It's beyond hilarious at this point. Brock will get paid, period. He's performed in the playoffs (multiple times) and been to a super bowl. Purdy has single handedly saved the 49ers from the potential disaster of that Try Lance pick. Lastly, Tom Brady chose not to be the highest paid quarterback. No one forced him to take less.
And you will be overpaying Dak for years and years and years. I like Purdy Boy, he is a pretty good QB, but he will pull you into the middle-level QB trap.
Colin is set on hating Purdy so I'm no longer upset when he talks bad about him. I'm upset that he keeps talking about it everyday and won't let it go. There are 5 to 6 great quarterbacks in the league and then there's the rest. Brock is part of the rest and fortunately Colin don't have to pay anybody.
What a load of rubbish Colin! The 9ers have 22 on IR! I get everyone has injury issues at this time of the year but but amongst those are some integral pieces Purdy needs to function. As a hawks fan, I see Purdy as a solid franchise QB, he always has been! You and Nick Wright have maliciously slandered Purdy from pillar to post since the day he entered into the league. The 9ers are down so you seize on the opportunity to continue to kick him in the guts. It is not, "I told you so!" It's "Pay him 35 mil and feel good about it" and stop with the lies.
Goff does not even deserve to be in the conversation of the top guys, if he doesn’t have an offensive line he is awful. Can’t move and you get him off his spot he is insanely inaccurate, oh and by the way lost to Purdy in the nfc championship game.
But you agree that he shouldn't be paid 50 large a year right? Forget Tua and Lawrence. Moreover, if I'm Purdy, would glladly take less to keep talent around me. It's a no brainer. Especially if I'm not Allen, Lamar, Patty etc.
As I’ve watched Purdy, I’ve always thought that he’s very similar to Kirk Cousins. Neither he nor Cousins should be payed at the top of the market. However, they’re still very good Quarterback(or were in cousins case). I’m not paying any QB but the top 4 QBs in the league max money. So it’s not that he’s bad, he’s just not Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Lamar.

This was a solid take from Colin. Purdy's real value is somewhere between to 35-45M. Those 2 picks to end both the Lions and Rams game, ended any leverage he had. The lower pay would also take some of these targets off his back and allow them to keep a stacked team around him. He also needs to play better but he takes a lot of heat from media. He may susceptible to being broken mentality. The same thing happened to Baker until he got out of Cleveland. hold to your guns on your number your going to pay him and if you need to, do a non-exclusive franchise tag w/ Purdy. Colin has an abnormal fetish when it relates to Brock Purdy and defensive head coaches. It's the central narrative which now defines his entire show -- and is why he has become so annoying when discussing these issues. @@joegardner851He's only going into his what 3rd year as a full time starter. If Trey Lance had the same exact resume Purdy does now people wouldn't even be questioning him getting paid. He's been to the NFC Championship and the Superbowl. People say he needs to have a perfect situation but people don't acknowledge that Stafford doesn't look great without Puka and Kupp or how Burrow looks different when he doesn't have Chase and Higgins
An astute comment if there ever was one. Thanks.
@@joegardner851 A lot of us questioned the contracts. Jerry Jones panicked. Personally, I think $50 mil should be the top of the market and starting QBs from $35 to the top. Would love to see Purdy sign for five years $200 mil. Leave room to sign some talent.
Colin doesn’t understand the cap.
PHI has a loaded roster because 300 million is pushed for 2029 and 2030 for 6 players
Brock needs a middle of the road contract. No way he can demand 50m
But it is hilarious cause brock did run for a touchdown just like dobbs, and mahomes is constantly throwing the ball to Kelce uncovered 😂
And Sam Darnold is also not a 50 million QB LOL
Dak getting 60MM per year and has achieved less - the market is market not we think it should be , even if we are right .
@nicolegnudi603 idk if I was the niners I would give the baker deal (30m a year) with a 15mil bonus if you take us to the superbowl lol win win
You noticed that too? How does a slow Kelce get so damn open on a short route?
Oh yeah… Brock DID run for a touchdown on a great scramble. When the coach keeps calling pass plays, and no runs (10 passes in a row in 2nd half) eventually you get picked, esp by the leading interceptor in the NFL.
Thank u I said the same thing like they knew we was passing. Like why we stop running
Colin has it for Purdy. Compare his first 3 years to Peyton Manning. He will change his tune in a few years.
Joe Burrow does not have a bad roster.
It is almost impossible for a QB to have great stats with a bad roster.
When a QB has great stats, it means that he is in a great offensive system.
lol
If BP was the Bengals' QB, they'd be the #1 seed in the AFC, right?
Burrow does not have a bad roster --- Chase and Higgins.
Don't pay him, let him walk. Then complain that they need a QB.
Niners need a franchise QB now with Purdy on the roster lol
Hes actually right on this. Brock purdy is a bridge qb at best.
Thank you
@greglyon1402 Up by 4 mid 3rd quarter and what does the "116 passer rating" do?? Blows the game with a horrendous interception followed by another pick that sealed their fate. This is becoming common with this kid. He is what he is, a mid to below average 7th round last pick. He has peaked and we've seen the best he can offer.
Lions gotta figure out their defense somehow.
Can’t let a team like the 49ers this season score 34pts on you
can't figure out injuries . . . just need depth or free agents . . . win-now replacements . . . 🍀
This is equally as bad as political propaganda. Purdy had his 4th string rookie running back and ONE starter left on his O line that is bottom of the league. Still cooked most of the game
Because Detroit is basically playing a second-string defense.
The mark of a true legit QB is being able to win regardless of who lines up on the field with you. Brock can't win unless he has ALL of the Avengers alongside with him.
@@gee9239So by your measure, which quarterback was "great" in 2024???
No team was more decimated by injury than San Francisco.
NONE.
@Vic-Vega Again with the excuses. Your division rivals Rams had plenty of injuries. They started 1-4 even n now are your division leaders. Explain that to me
Purdy isn't good but Caleb is, according to Colin. That makes no sense
Purdy looks small and untalented surrounded with one of the best rosters in football. Caleb has "Da Bears". Put Purdy in Chicago and he gets pulled week 2 and nobody ever thinks about him again.
Purdy doesn't have the physical attributes like Caleb. You can't gift a strong arm...or height.
@@youngwashragI must be missing something, but did Purdy lead a team to the Championship game and would've won if his defense made a stop in the final drive?
Lol😂😂😂 The Team
@@ClickbaitMotorsportsyeah but Purdue got better vision and composure
27/35, 377 yards, 4 touchdowns, against one of the top teams in the league. Yeah they lost (by 6) and he had 2 bad picks, but this is a wild overreaction
Facts
And their freaking kicker costed them 7 points!!!
@@stefanorota5167yea kicker was bad last night for sure.
I think the point is he’s not that good for 60 million. Everything has to be perfect around him for it to work. It’s not sustainable.
Honestly, I can't think of a player that raises everyone up. Purdy and Mahomes are having identical seasons with one to go.
Colin always says he doesn’t like Brock Purdy without saying it lol
Burrow bad roster ?? He had the best set of wideouts in football , burrow struggles with situational football it’s time to admit it
PURDY Total elite BACKUP QB material.
Along with Mahomes, Allen, etc.
Seriously, Colin believes Kyle Shanahan is the best play designer in the NFL. That’s a ludicrous statement.
Colin had to say that. It props up his narrative at the moment.
Yeah this season Kyle actually proved the opposite, very predictable plays all season and very bad play design, all has to come from play action
Who's the best play designer if it's not Kyle? I mean like a Ben Johnson has been fun but Kyle has WAY more stripes on the wall.
@@michaeloxendine1231 I think specifically this year, he got passed by guys like La Fleur or McVay, the rams swept the niners, first time in Kyle era, I think not having CMC affected a lot of his designs and nothing worked well he couldn’t adapt.
You guys are trippin. Kyle invents plays that other coaches copy and become regularly used plays across the NFL. Not many coaches are doing that. If he was an OC (like he should be) he would be the best coordinator in the league. (Next to spags!)
Colin really has a crush on Jimmy gorapolo 🤣
Just wait for Colin to do the flip-flop; he'll hate Garropolo in about an hour.
Purdy was the last pick in the draft who has overachieved, got his team to the Super Bowl in his first year as a full time starter, this season was snake bit by injury.
Injury, death of two infants, No. 1 pick shot, player quitting on the team, and two major holdouts. Sure this happens to all teams, but all at once in the same season?
If Hurts is only successful because of the talent around him, what is Goff? What is Baker? What is Darnold? Herbert has never even won a playoff game. Give me a break. Colin has lost his ability to be objective. His hate for Hurts should honestly be studied
Colin never claimed to be objective. That would destroy his narrative. Of course, he can do the ole flip flop routine, and make everything all right at the end of the day.
@ true
Let's accept Colin as the gospel. According to him then, Herbert should win a playoff game this season. Darnold and the Vikings should score 50+ points against the defensively challenged Lions. And Allen will lead the Bills to victory in the Super Bowl. Lets check back in February and see how good of a prognosticator is Colin.
@@greglyon1402 He doesn’t even know what he thinks from day to day. Just two weeks ago he said the Eagles will win the superbowl. He’s just yapping most days 😂
Purdy is still 7th in the league in QBR in his absolute worst year of his career. With no Aiyuk, no CMC, no Trent Williams, purdy has still managed to remain a top 10 QB in the league. Colin’s idiotic statements about purdy are completely disingenuous and he has absolutely no idea what he’s talking about.

Why does he hate this man so much and was the same way with baker few years ago
Colin and the rest of the pundits play the players and agents against management all the time. This Purdy contract talk is to renormalize QB contracts after all the horrible contracts for bottom half of the league QBs.
It’s not hate
Did he just say he doesn't think Brock could have ran for a touchdown? In a game where Brock ran for a touchdown, and Collin just said "you have to watch the game". Yikes
I think we can all deduce that Colin did NOT watch that game, to say something that dumb.
And he said it more than once
Straight clown
Is this the guy that said you cannot be a good QB If you wear your hat backwards? Shanahan called 16 consecutive passes with the DB'S lying In wait. The defense was non existent. Purdy threw for 377 yards and three touchdowns. Passed Mahomes for most ganes with at least two touchdown passes and a passer rating over 115 In the first three years In the league
Sam Darnold for $50 m/year and you wouldn’t be offended?! This whole take is insanity. INSANITY. I mean, I don’t think Purdy is worth that much but to say Purdy isn’t as good as Darnold? Gosh, I really hope Purdy has a good year next year so these guys can eat their words.
he isnt
Anti Brock critics couldn’t wait. No credit for a win all the blame for a loss.
Brock literally ran a TD in up the gut from outside the 10 yard line. Quit it, Colin
I have watched him flip flop for 2 years over purdy.
Purdy ran for a touchdown earlier in the game, watch the game Colin.
are you talking about the same Purdy who threw 2 picks?, What about the picks last week?
He is above average but NOT Great.....Without a massive supporting cast he can't win. Look at this season, Losses against Rams, that was on him, Cards, on him, Seattle Him....
The Purdy apologists will always support him, but he IS NOT GREAT.
Tua and Love are making over $50M
Purdy outplays Love in the playoffs last season.
Last year purdy was top 5 in 2nd half passer rating with 114.5. It is just a down year, with tons of injuries. He leads the league in air yards not YAC Colin. By all objective measures he is in the top 10-5 in the league.
If Purdy was a first or even second round pick then these narratives wouldn’t exist. Purdy is no worse than someone like Jordan Love, yet no one had a problem with Love being paid because he was a first round pick.
Brocks contract talk is the backlash of Watson and Prescotts contracts. They want Brock to renormalize the contracts QBs get.
Edit: also Lawrence, Tua, Jones etc.
The jordan love glazing is getting out of hand
What did Brock Purdy do to Colin?
Brock was a nobody who is a star QB in the NFL, everything Collin wanted.
This is the take of someone who doesn't watch the 49ers play football
What makes you say that
Stafford is in the 50 club? Colin loves glazing Stafford
Yep. Along with Herbert and Love. He has his favorites. Honestly, there are 4 QBs in that top tier. Everybody else is under, in my opinion.
@@Wish8312 Herbert absolutely belongs in there along with Love who i think has proven he's going to be elite but i can understand the skepticism. Stafford is just too old

You think this Purdy is mediocre, wait until his contract makes the current roster even worse. He can drive a really nice car well. Give him a hand-me down with a stick-shift, not so much.
Can Jordan Love actually do something other than beat the DALLAS COWBOYS before we put him over hurts daniels or mayfield
The drones are real Colin. You’re in California, keep jersey out of your mouth
Every team can’t have Mahomes, Alllen and Burrow, live in reality Colin
Right about Brock. Bad analogy . My neighbors drone can’t hover for 5 hours Colin.
Smaller athlete, look at Brock purdy next to mahomes last year at Super Bowl build up event thing. They are like the same size
The fact that Colin thinks Deebo is getting big YAC numbers is proof that he doesn't watch the games
Goff is great period
lol Brock DID run a TD Collin. Terrible take.
Purdy is top 5 bro he has horrible players around him
Brady is a bad comp. At the time he was taking discounts on salary his (now ex) wife was making north of $60M/year as a model.
Perfect analysis Colin. Another great episode!
This could be the worst segment I’ve watched the entire year.
Struggles? 🤔 that’s not a word I would use to describe his performance in that game - you could say fell short - but not struggle -
Lol purdy didn't run for a TD this game?😂😂 what is Colin on this end of year
Brock is 3rd in the entire league in air yards this season. That stat is easy too look up but Colin apparently is too lazy. Just as lazy as his take.
Purdy literally ran for a TD.
Please tell me I’m not the only one who thinks this is an insane take
He said Burrow can do whatever he wants with a bad roster…. Chase and Higgins? Lol 😅
But you agree that he shouldn't be paid 50 large a year right? Forget Tua and Lawrence.
Moreover, if I'm Purdy, would glladly take less to keep talent around me. It's a no brainer. Especially if I'm not Allen, Lamar, Patty etc.
@@hard_stuck yea if I’m the niners you can’t lose him he is there guy
As I’ve watched Purdy, I’ve always thought that he’s very similar to Kirk Cousins. Neither he nor Cousins should be payed at the top of the market. However, they’re still very good Quarterback(or were in cousins case). I’m not paying any QB but the top 4 QBs in the league max money. So it’s not that he’s bad, he’s just not Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Lamar.
@@rfare9027 - Really? Nevermind the picks for a second, the guy is brittle because he can't take a hit. I don't blame him - God made him the way that He did - but this isn't a 2 hand touch league.
Brock did run for a touchdown against the lions
This is like the 6th segment in 30 days Colin has had on Brock Purdy contract. Move on man!
Yeah this has to be one of the worst takes ever 😂😂😂 come on Collin did you watch the game? Purdy ran for a TD in the first half and had 2 td passes but he is not athletic enough? Purdy was playing with an entire new offensive line filled with backups, and I think is very clear now shanahan is nos as great play caller as you say, he got pass happy all of the second half! Purdy slander need to stop! My guess is you just saying this things for attention and to make headlines
The Purdy glazing is crazy from this grown man
Don’t love this take. I’m not a huge fan of purdy, but he’s better than half the league at qb. Also, Kyle shannahan is very overrated. All of his teams start out strong when every play is scripted and they fall apart 2nd half. Look at 2016 Super Bowl…….
This is an idiotic take. These talking heads should start having to put their money where their mouth is on these ridiculous takes. He’s been missing his top target the entire season. Take chase from burrow and let’s see how he does. On top of that, this the first season burrow has remained healthy. We watch the games cowturd. Please make a bet on this take now.
Brock ran for a TD last night.
hey but he "actually watches the games" apparently
This was a solid take from Colin. Purdy's real value is somewhere between to 35-45M. Those 2 picks to end both the Lions and Rams game, ended any leverage he had. The lower pay would also take some of these targets off his back and allow them to keep a stacked team around him. He also needs to play better but he takes a lot of heat from media. He may susceptible to being broken mentality. The same thing happened to Baker until he got out of Cleveland. hold to your guns on your number your going to pay him and if you need to, do a non-exclusive franchise tag w/ Purdy. They need a new kicker too. 😆
I don’t know, Purdy is pretty good. Not elite, but he could make maybe a third of the teams better right now
Remember guys they have takes like this for shock factor. It keeps them relevant
Colin has an abnormal fetish when it relates to Brock Purdy and defensive head coaches. It's the central narrative which now defines his entire show -- and is why he has become so annoying when discussing these issues. Purdy is a very good QB who should and will get paid his fair market value. Defensive head coaches have, can, and will continue to succeed in the NFL. Please Colin, move on from the Purdy and defensive head coaches can't coach obsession. It's intellectually lazy and getting old. It's time to move on.
Plz stop trying to shoehorn Justin Herbert in with the likes of Patrick mahomes or other top ten qbs!🤯...Herbert is not that guy 🫡
No no no.. when the 49niners were winning you were not saying Baker was better than Brock Purdy.
Thank you Collin! As a fan, I'm worried that once we pay Brock 60 million the roster will go even further down and Brock can't make up the difference.
Collin, I don’t think you watch the games because Debo has been terrible this year. He gets to know yards after the catch.
The funniest take is that Colin thinks a Civic is worth 50k
Bro Collin be all over the place with these takes it’s like people forget he was the main one saying pay him
Colin flips more than a coin at a football game
Despite the implosion of the Niners this season for a variety of reasons, Purdy's three passing touchdowns and 116.0 passer rating in the Lions game gave him the most games with two or more passing touchdowns and a passer rating of at least 115.0 in a quarterback's first three seasons in NFL history with 15, passing Kansas City Chiefs signal-caller Patrick Mahomes, who recorded 14 such games. Clearly, he never does.
Andy Reid is a WAY better play designer but I get the point
Purdy is a good QB just not great! But he’s worth money and you can build
Around him
Hmmm, check the stats. His season mirrors Mahomes. Just not with wins. How do you explain that?
@ lol..: let’s not compare him to arguably… already the 2nd greatest QB ever… anyone with a brain can watch the TWO and see the CLEAR DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO
If you listen to CowShi@ for a while he always has the latest player he trashes. It is sick
I get what Colin is saying but that top tier he's talking about, Herbert is not there yet and has not proved on the field to be better than Hurts.
If that joke in Dallas can get millions Brock is worth twice that
The League should learn from its mistakes no repeat the obvious. Here's 40mil Brock now go over there play with your toys.
Yeah he needs to get paid or you’re probably gonna waste another season. If he doesn’t get signed all next year will be talk about his contract
