  • I compare the Bauer Hypermax angle grinder next to the Dewalt 20v Max angle grinder to see if it can live up to my standards.

There is alot I should have said in this video but didn't. The Bauer was way lighter and easier to control then the Dewalt and I liked that. I also should have mentioned I used both fairly new Bauer Cut off wheele. Both guards adjust the same. So far I like the bauer a lot

What I am taking away from this is that the Bauer needs to be A. Fully charged and B. Used light enough to let the grinder do that work. I just bought the 3 amp hour battery for mine with the 10% off coupon I found on HFQPDB.com for $36. I am going to charge it and see how it works. I was using my Milwaukee yesterday and it has one of those internal thermal shut off deals too and a fully charged 3amp hour battery. It died before I even finished one cut (it was a fairly demanding cut, but it shouldn’t have died so easily) and it was shutting off on my the whole way through too. In my honest opinion, that Dewalt is the king of cordless angle grinders. The safety handle that won’t allow your hand to slip up on the wheel is better than anything I have ever seen, and they managed to make it without that internal shut down, or it’s at least hard to activate. It does kill the battery fast though. I just like it. With the Bauer though, where else are you gonna find a $36 (on sale) cordless angle grinder that works reasonably well with a fully charged battery. Also, it sounded like when you actually got a fully charged battery on there it was every bit as fast as the Dewalt. I feel like it wasn’t given a fair shake because it didn’t have a fully charged battery up front, it should have had the fully charged battery first. Then it also was using a 1.5 amp hour battery where the dewalt was using a 4 amp hour?

The dewalt does the same amount of work on the there 2ah and on there 4ah batteries. I have ran that dewalt on both a ton and go the same result so I new it was a big factor. I just was using the 4ah bc it is meant for the grinder and I dont want to kill me 2ah batteries on it. But the dewalt grinder was much heavier and much harder to control the cut with the saftey handle and everything. If you dont have both hands on the dewalt it's super hard to do anything super well. The bauer is much lighter. I would have put this in the video but it's all stuff I realized while watching it as I posted it last night. I am going to get the 3ah battery for bauer and try it out and do an update vidoe. Then after having it for some time I will do a review on it. Does the bauer have that saftey heat sensor or is it just that it's to weak. Because on a 2 bar battery it runs so poorly but on a 3 bar battery full charged I can run it pretty hard. Not mad hard but I could put some pressure on it to help it work.

@@countryhandyman1064 Yes I have also noticed when using your DeWalt that it is harder to control. I really both love and hate the grip on it. It is nice for safety but I have also found it to get in the way a little bit too, at certain angles its not as easy to use as all the other angle grinders. I think the Bauer stops to protect the motor from burning up.

If you are using the dewalt to grind or with a flap disc or wire brush, it is easy and nice. But trying to run a cut off wheel vertical or anything vertical it is not comfortable. Aslo (it's not a huge deal) the handle just makes me happy with the bauer it just nice to have that good rubber handle.

Country Handyman it’s definitely a plus in my opinion! Just gotta get a 3 amp hour battery on it!

The Bauer looks really nice, but with the many shut offs maybe not so useable. But lets see how it works with the bigger battery. 👍

Yes I will definitely be getting the bigger battery. It did shut off a lot. Maybe it was camera shy because when just testing it right after I got it. The bauer was doing really good. I'm hoping more juice means stronger run.

The 3.0 AH battery works a lot better in it! Also works if its actually fully charged... @country handyman

Have you tried the 3 AH battery on this yet? I bought their impact wrench and their circular saw and use the 3 AH on that and it hasn't disappointed me yet, I'm waiting for their reciprocating saw to be in stores, I have a Chicago electric corded saw that does the job for the most part but I'm looking for an upgrade.

Yes! I have tried it. I love it way more then my dewlat honestly. Me and you are waiting for the samething. I cant wait for the reciprocating saw. I want there impact amd circler saw as well. Im just in a tool buying hold till I get other projects and things done.

@@countryhandyman1064 the den of tools just put out a video showing the Bauer reciprocating saw it looks worth the wait to me I just can't wait until it's in store. I'm also waiting for an oscillating tool corded is just fine for me, I'm a DIYer/home owner so they've done everything I've needed them to do

Im not seeing any bauer oscillating saws in the big set of bauer tools that the den of tools talked about like 5 months back. But I need to go watch the one in that reciprocating saw. You always need one of those.

The Bauer grinders aren’t the best, But I love the drills. As dewalt switched to plastic gears! Bauer has good metal gears

I do love a lot of things Bauer and harbor freight. They are great. You can get screwed at harbor freight but if you do your research then you will be out ok. I think the Bauer angle grinder is great for a battery operated grinder.

Bauers are alright, definitely a good entry level tool for a beginner tradesman, but it’s no makita, dewalt, etc. I use my cordless dewalt out on jobs in the field, I use my Bauer and Makita in the shop for making shit
