last year coming back from Fort Willian there was a diesel trail for about 10 miles it ended with a camper van in layby with a puddle around it! also it was raining no fun.
One Saturday afternoon I managed to ride over a patch of diesel on a roundabout and it was just like someone grabbed both wheels of the motorbike and chucked it down the road...How the bike, my pillion or me never made contact with any of the other traffic still baffles me!....
On my push bike I came off on a roundabout at 31 mph on diesel, even though I made a straight line through the roundabout because it was early hours and hardly any traffic. I broke my neck of femur ( hip ). It took me about 5 months to get back on the bike and I would say 5 years in total before I couldn't feel an injury any more. If I saw a diesel streak now of any kind, I wouldn't continue riding at about 50 mph. Two wheel vehicles are all inherently unstable and can't cope with a surface with a substantial diesel leak on it. I would probably turn 180 degrees and find another route, after what happened to me, once I knew there was diesel.
Bus stops are a good indication of diesel may be on corners.
Worse combination manhole covers coated with diesel on bends.
Worse than ice
