Asian American here, I didnt have the privilege to learn Vietnamese or Laos growing up due to my home life already being difficult enough. At one point my mom tried to put me in a school for vietnamese kids, but money was tight so I couldnt go. But because of this my Asian peers treated me as "lesser" in some ways and that was when I decided to lean on my western side to avoid falling into a pit of self hatred. Its why I only speak English, but I have no problem wit it- Its how I have to survive in America

@Bitchz My grammar is realy bad and I am bad at writings in english like I struggle a lot right know (I dont use translator) But when I hear english I understand everything perfectly. I can watch movies and UA-cam videos in english like its nothing. My family usually mixes Arabic/my language Lezgin and Russian. I know my moms language perfectly and Russian perfectly too. A little bit of arabic (not much! only things almost every muslim knows) And I study english by myself. I write comments on UA-cam to practice

I’m half Japanese and Indian, I was born and raised in India so my Japanese is weak. My mom who is Japanese didn’t use that much of Japanese at home while we’re growing up. She could speak Odia (one of the Indian languages) so we mostly conversed in Indian language. People usually assume that me and my siblings are fluent in both languages/bilingual. But alas! We aren’t. Lol now I’m in japan and went to a Japanese Lang school for two years. So my Japanese has improved significantly but still I’m nowhere near being fluent. I also had to work on my English myself as my schools didn’t really care about English lol and no one around me spoke in English. I’m still working on my Japanese and English, hope I’ll be fluent in these two one day.
