Was watching the video casually and I heard you say my name tag had no clue I was in your game I was green in the second one😂 should’ve left more troops on my capital got fucked by a guy neighbor capping me, went from beginner to expert this season from watching your videos for the last couple months keep up the great work Pete!
Salut Pete !
One thing I'm noticing from playing these settings: I think in a situation where you're rolling a 10v1 like at 29:53, it seems worth it to slider to the earliest 99% purely from a casualties perspective. Maybe I'm crazy, but I swear those high casualty rolls happen more often without the slider.
@mhreinhardt that's not how the odds work. If there is a 1 in a billion chance of a roll failing, it will still say 99%. The slider doesn't mitigate anything in true random.
@@HokuCyfan the issue is specifically rolls where you still win. Rolling a 20v1 without adjusting the slider seems to result in an unusual amount of 6+ casualty incidents, whereas adjusting the slider down to the first 99% mitigates that. With how broken caps rolls are, it's really not surprising that this would be true.
You pretty much gave Orange second place. There was a time that you just kept helping a noob that wasn't defending his caps and of course he wasn't going to attack yellow when he can have an easy second. At a certain point it's just time to run through his territories to make him think twice or let him vulnerable for Yellow to eat him up. Because soon he realized you couldn't hit back what did he do? Started taking your stuff.
Yeah, but I think you're right. He sounded like he was saying he would see at least 4 capitals in the opening phase. An artifact of the thousands of advanced EU fog games he's commented on while playing. 🤣
It’s annoying to see grandmasters say the correct play for someone ELSE is to break the other guy, but they won’t do it themselves… I get that it’s a strategy to not put a target on your back, but it seems pretty passive.
The game is fundamentally broken in that way. If we had control over certain elements of the setup which we don't currently we could design something that better incentivizes action but we're stuck with what we are currently.
They actually tied for 3rd place with no one getting 2nd. If someone were to caps run a 6 player lobby with everyone still alive, then that player would get 1st and all the rest would tie for 6th.
Firstly, go into settings and turn off camera animations. When it's your turn to attack, do the following: 1. Click your attacking stack 2. Click on target territory 3. Press Enter to confirm attack roll 4. Press Enter to confirm troop movement Then as long as you want to keep attacking with that same stack, just repeat steps 2-4.
25:57 Yellow seems like a good player, who like you sometimes feels he gets thrown into the austraila position based on how everyone else played the board. And at this moment on his first turn post cap, oh he looks like he owns it. It's funny had you neighbor capped orange, they probably would have defended better, what a shame. I'd be curious if you could jocky for position order in a caps game, you all bid how many starting troops you are willing to take or something, like you can bid 0-9 troops and you get that many on your first turn or whatever and lowest goes first, maybe you could bid to -3 where you even take your next turn's troops, just because you have such a wizbang spot you need to take you need to go first. and then you might have saw this board and gone, blue has nothing, i'll take a late seat give me lots of troops to defend with. you know, like some board games do let you bid on turn order based on how bad you want to pick first.
Number 59 that’s great. Though since conquering all the mountains thought you’d manipulate the score your 10 spots from. Do you not enjoy an open valley? He he he
I am not sure anyone understood what orange was doing. This guy doesn't care about his rank. Great cap choice, fast alliance break, emote at perfection This guy tag in, wait to antagonize someone, and beat the shiet out of him no matter what. He doesn't play to win, he plays to make someone loose. Spamming hearts and not defending your caps makes you not worth to focus as well Also i know that because i did that a few times when i was drunk (I'm master for what it's worth)
You can't see it from Orange's point of view? Mute the video to get rid of the Peteman bias and pretend you are a novice player who doesn't know anything about the capitals and just wants to hold territories. The first turn all he knows is blue is a jerk and broke his bonus. He continues to take bonuses and never really cares about capitals which is why some of his decisions look bad but I honestly think the guy had no idea and was just naturally pathing through those territories on his quest to take bonuses and when it came time to bad neighbor he had no qualms with breaking that jerk blue and emoting to thank Pete for playing good neighbor and enabling him to get his revenge. Then the caps took their revenge on him because he still didn't know what they did when he lost his stack in Scotland and inadvertently fed the win to Yellow. Same reason for why Yellow didn't feed Pete 2nd. To yellow, once he saw Orange quit out, from his perspective blue was the only human opponent and so he simply ended the game. These players are human and are playing Risk, not watching it from Pete's screen.
@@desyncer Okay brother let's do it your way Let's pretend he is a noob that doesn't understand know anything Well that kind of person doesn't show full trust for multiple consecutive turns That kind of person doesn't emote this well That kind of person doesn't put troops like he did That kind of person don't slider We saw so many noobs on this channel it would be dumb to put this guy in the same basket. It's so obvious. he's not that bad, he just cared 0 about the win, he wanted to laugh like pete does while saying "F*** You! AHAHAH !"
47:30 what was that? Orange going 'kill my troops for nothing to make the end come faster?' Because if the was a let's kill blue for 1 card play is less believable. Orange dice fail
Pete IMO this will create such more stalemates are you telling me that is better than the way the dice are now? Imagine being scared to roll a slightly non favorable roll if they fix the odds no one will want to progress the game.
There are ways to improve risk that won't cause stalemates. 100s of ways. All the devs need to do to implement them is to speak to people who actually play their game at the highest level. But at any basic level, the dice should work.
What happen when someone quit ? Does it split his troups or something ? (Thanks Pete for sprading your love ans positivity to Risk ! Love your content)
I don't understand the playing with the food at the end of the first game. You don't have to capture the bot capitals with neutral bots that have surrendered. After Purpie Boy opened blue's capital blue had 58 troops to apply that turn. Just scorch into Purpie Boy's capital and end his misery. Instead he has to watch as blue whales on bots and extend this laugher another turn. Purpie had one card in a fixed game. He was done.
I dont actually get why true random are better... i mean they are random... you cant expect anything u can lose from attacking a 3 vs 10 but win a 10 vs 14 wih any loss...
orange in the second game beating the shit out of you and then throwing you a heart is hilarious
'Am punching you, but it's for your own good'
- Orange
35:58 "A very aggressive heart thrower." 😂
I think everyone got orange wrong he was so nooby that when you put troops on your caps he thought you were building a attack stack.
That's the most ridiculous open I have ever seen.
The worst players I've ever seen.
12:52 nice to see that capitals defend properly now 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Ya true random fixes cap rolls but it very harsh in the open (sometimes)

so funny watching me just rage quit completely don’t remember that game i musta been fed up😂
You had some shit luck there man, what was it like 3 suicides on your cap in the open? I wouldn't have a monitor after that.
7:50 blew my mind. That cap is manned by Captain America, lol.
Shouldn’t really blow your mind, those were terrible rolls to take
Yeah! Teamed with John Rambo
It was green stick men attacking a blue fortress with machine guns and mortars 😂
And I think there is one lesson we can take away from this: NEVER CAP IN ICELAND
Yes another louder “What is up riskTAKERSS!” Gets me real energized lol
The last dice roll!! Pete LOST 45 troops killing 12 😂 that was almost a hilarious moment
I do have to give back some of my good luck eventually
42:20 why not kill green for 3 cards?
"Why would you!...wtf???" 29:40 makes no sense at all 😂😂😂

1:25 "At least we see 4 of the 6 caps in the open"
Well, with no fog it's pretty straight forward lol
The rest of that thought would be "prior to choosing a capital." 😁
@@falcon7960 Only 3 people capped before him tho, but yes, most like he was talking about his seat, my bad

12:58 😂😂😂 "Sometimes the dice do be like that"!!!
You letting orange back in the game to back stab you seemed crazy to me 😂
(Spoiler) These two games are my most common interactions. 1. Noobs slam each other. 2. Noobs slam me.
29:41 Pete having an error moment 🤣
Orange was the Klingons, yellow the Ferengi, and Pete a real Dr. Spock trying to make some logical sense of it all.

PETE CHALLENGE: Cap in Iceland and win.
Insane video, best one you've ever posted I gotta say
Thanks!
interesting that in both games the winning player started having bonuses from the skandi / england region
That was certainly two of the games of all time
it was a collaboration game feeding the kill
I like risk as well.
Me when red and magenta capped next to each other: "THEY"RE THROWIIIIIING!!!!"
Why does everyone always quit the most fun settings 😂
Leaving 4s to take 1s in true random. A legend indeed.
Orange never learned what a cap was because he got positive rolls on over half of them lmao. Man lost 7 attacking a 17 cap
Pete you didn’t take 3rd right? You tie with orange for 2nd since you were both alive at the cap run right?
Nope, placement order is by number of total troops, in descending order.
They actually tied for 3rd place with no one getting 2nd. If someone were to caps run a 6 player lobby with everyone still alive, then that player would get 1st and all the rest would tie for 6th.
Curious why the Enterprise background? I'm newish to your channel and haven't heard you say why. Missing out on an inside joke?

The last play he lost 45 troops to 19 that’s insane 😭
The Don't Trust Pete Strategy - T-shirt idea. I'll take a 1% commission if you attack yellow 😏
6:48 did nobody notice bro lost a 4 v 1 ???
Oh it was true random lol
Hey peteman, can you show us a three cap classic progressive meta opening strategy that evolves into a 6 cap hold in turn 3? Thank you 🙏
16:50 lost 45 on a 19 looks like a normal roll to me
