Description: Here's Part 2 to my coffee saga. Part 1 is found here:
• ASMR | the coffee deal...
So how did we discover this ubiquitous daily drug?
The earliest credible evidence of coffee-drinking appears in Yemen in southern Arabia in the middle of the 15th century in Sufi shrines. It was here in Arabia that coffee seeds were first roasted and brewed in a similar way to how it is now prepared. Coffee seeds were first exported from East Africa to Yemen, as the Coffea arabica plant is thought to have been indigenous to the former. Yemeni traders took coffee back to their homeland and began to cultivate the seed. By the 16th century, it had reached Persia, Turkey, and North Africa. From there, it spread to Europe and the rest of the world.
As always, I want to seriously thank you for all your warm support these past couple years.

your channel is going to blow up soon, I'm calling it now. extremely well done videos... I notice and appreciate the effort!
pro trick : watch series on flixzone. Been using them for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Kasen Kohen Yea, I've been watching on flixzone for months myself :D
@that_aesthetic_petrichor 239k now he’s growing fast
Honestly you could talk about what your fav brand of mayonnaise is and I could still listen and fall sleep to it lol
what's your fav brand of moyonnaise?
Edge Of Light Helmens lol
I always am intrigued if mayonaise is a topic of conversation
You act like that isn't a deep complex subject but we all know school mayo is the best mayo
making coffee in the morning is almost beautifully ritualistic, in the morning, the cool breeze and the quiet and solace of the outside, tipped with a slight six-thirty am dew-filled morning and deep blue sky before you take your first warm and comforting sip, almost touches your soul and invigorates you before you take on the day ahead. damn I love you and coffee
Rap Lawyer that whole comment can be easily summarized as....”the best part of waking up..”
Is Foldger's in your cup
@@ayden839 huimbd fiv uh wherivuvmuihwmhr miuhvuiyenrhf renyfh🎉🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂😂😂
I like this transition from soft speaking to whisper, and vice versa. So many tingles!!! Lol Thank you! Amazing as always !
Oh I like the french whisperer too! Man I miss him, he was always so good at getting me relaxed and sleepy
That's the reason I love this channel so much. Reminds me of his videos. God do I miss that deep french accent.
Daniel Blancas does anyone know what’s happened to him?
Rich Morris what happened to him
I think he said he was setting up a business so that's probably where he's devoting his time. It's a shame, but we have LFO now so I for one am happy
if you look him up he’s still making videos
LMAO the french whisperer at the french press part 😂 also i have that same vegeta mug!! Was just using it earlier actually haha
This right here is my favorite ASMR video ever. Every time I experience insomnia I come back here and I manage to fall asleep. Thanks Rich for your vids and the relaxation you bring us 👌🏼
I'm so glad I recently found your channel. Such a cool take on asmr
I have no idea how you don’t have a million subscribers, I’ve literally never found a channel as informative as yours that also knocks me out😄. Thanks a lot for putting so much work into this 💕☺️
Ah thanks alina. Beautiful name btw
He doesn't have tits that's why
My fav history teacher tbh

Everything you do and every video you make I love
The whispers, the coffee sounds, the church choir music.... 💚
Fascinating stuff, as always. Cheers! ☕
One of my favorite drinks, lovely video:) watching you make a cup was so calming
🙏
Hey man, great video! The way you implement history in them is amazing. I was wondering if you could eventually do a video on ancient Mesopotamia. I feel that would be a great video, talking about the origins of the first modern civilizations. Just a thought though.
I keep returning to this vid it's so great with the music and all
That's one fine looking cup you have there! Thanks for the sleep!
Dude your voice is just everything you make me just wanna fall asleep wherever I am 😍😍😍
Years ago, at my job (before ASMR) the coffee carafe was just outside my cubical. It was one of those big carafe's that you push down to dispense the coffee, it made a lovely sound. There was also an assortment of coffee accouterments and I would listen to people make their coffee every morning. Listening to the coffee pour in the cup, adding sugar and cream always gave me tingles first thing in the morning. When I found ASMR on youtube I was always looking for coffee videos. This is excellent. Everything from scooping the beans into the grinder, pouring, the light tapping of of the coffee bag, just so good. And now your gentle voice telling me about the history of my favorite beverage means my life is now complete.
i love those big carafes, and know exactly what you mean. thanks for watching annie :)
OMG the ASMR references are on pointe! 😂😍😂 fun tingles!
This is THE BEST ASMR video ever. It’s helping my relax and escape whilst I’m going through a lot of stress and anxiety.... Thank you! Some British history would be greatly appreciated too if you ever fancy it 👍🏻
Im humbled by that rich 🙏
Well done! I love the gently spoken info and the background music is utterly relaxing. Can you do something similar with the history of soap?
interestinggggg. I may have to. thanks carole
The evil dark history of coffee! 😂 i was looking forward for this 👍 this asmr history lesson made my day thanks bro 😎 ( i enjoyed the video man , awesome work and coffee mug 😂)
The gregorian singing works super well on the background!
I felt asleep honestly, good luck mate with other sleeping videos!
Much apologies for not commenting earlier, completely knocked out to this lol! I love food history and am a voracious reader of all books on the social history of food 😆 also i really really love the clips of you making your coffee. Great mug
thanks for the kind words sparkz.
thanks for the kind words sparkz.
@@LetsFindOut1 Are you "Let's read" you sound identical to him ?
I don't even like coffee but I'm still getting tingles.
Now that's impressive.
I’m betting that you’ll get slow growth until around 50-75k then absolutely blow up to an insane amount of subs. Doing some role plays here and there will probably be what gets you there
I only drink cheap instant coffee that tastes like dirt if it isn't warm. Very interesting and relaxing video btw 😃
Appreciate the content! I live in the city where Gevalia started, I thought they only sold their coffee in Sweden. Maybe I'm lame but I thought that was pretty cool.
Great video but who puts the sugar in last?!😱😂
Rxdiate who doesn’t? 😅🤔
Joe Sheridan literally who does?😂😂
Cream and sugar ruin good coffee and should not be used at all....IMHO. 🙃😝
Your power level must be off the charts, or else that mug would be drinking from you. Lol
Every day is a school day and I LOVE IT ❤️
Mmmmmhhhmmm!!!!!!! The fresh smell of coffee ☕️!!!!!! Now that’s like paradise in the morning I need my coffee!! And coffee beans just smell like heaven on earth!!
Your videos are spectacular!! I love them this channel is gonna get so many subscribers!! Your voice is like heaven and very relaxing!! I love it.
I always fall asleep 😴 near the end or in the middle but it’s worth it and I love it!! And I had no idea coffee had a very interesting history!!
Fascinating 😇😃 😴😴
Columbia’s coffee 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 that’s to die for !!
I want to believe that, in your morning ritual you really do always tap soothingly on your creamer and sugar when your not recording lol. ^_^
Percolating vid!; but not really because it was relaxing and calming. Good all the same!
hahaha. that was the funniest thing ive read in a while. thanks for watching jen
Itd be awesome to see a video about your life! Awesome video as always man!
So early its 1 AM thanks for this information 😉
Heres a Suggestion do a topic on the History of Computing/Internet. That will be interesting. I like your History Videos there relaxing and interesting too great combination. Keep up the good work Man.
It's really good
I love that mug. I hate coffee but I'd drink some hot cocoa out of it for sure. Thank you for another wonderfully interesting video! Hope you're well this evening.
Because of my heart condition I can’t drink coffee. It’s so weird to be an outsider to this trend of coffee drinking. People literally cannot function unless they have this dark liquid. Haha
Where did you get that mug? I need it
The Coffee Mate Dulce De Leche creamer is the best! Give it a try.
I'm lucky not to be addicted to coffee in contrast to pretty much everyone here in Finland. I never drink coffee because I simply cannot stand it and for some reason it still surprises people. However, an interesting video :)
I love the smell of coffee, but it would be hard pressed to get me to actually drink it 😶
clap clap?
@@EdgeOfLight slap slap?
Do a video on the opium plant
*amazing*
It's 1130pm. Now I need a coffee. I can't wait to wake up.
Século XVIII o Brasil 🇧🇷 era um dos maiores exportadoras de café também! Muito bom esse Asmr✍🏼👏
Cliff notes: Some dude ate birdshit and this coffe was discovered.
Words of wisdom coffee is not healthy for you but it seems tasty
Just asking, can anyone make timestamps for each time period he is talking about? I keep falling asleep trying to do it.
Ppl
Please tell me what song this is! Soooo good.
How weird I just got a coffee maker at my house about A week ago when you posted this. Creepy
I cant drink coffee on an empty stomach. It gives me the shakes and a headace.
1:02 was that Fred holding that mug 😂 from Fred’sVoice asmr
When I drink coffee I have to go to the bathroom so I don’t drink it. It gives me the jitters.
18:02 My daily life lmao
ok but why the medieval church choir background music lol? Is that coffee bag a sacred relic?
How much coffee do you put in your French press? I just bought one and my coffee always ends up weak.
ive just learned by trial and error honestly
Compared to other people who experience ASMR, I’m pretty HYPOsensitive, but your voice is an exception; it gives me tingles like when I was a kid. 🤩
My ears perked up when you mentioned conservatism in the context of coffee prohibition. Like you said, (small c) conservatism is cautious about change and finds value in tradition. From the sound of it, coffee had already made its way into local culture before it was abruptly banned. Prohibition was therefore a radical break from tradition-not conservative at all. The analogy to American Prohibition is apt and also telling. Everyone acknowledged the ills associated with drinking culture, but most people agreed with Lincoln who said that the solution was open dialogue using reason and logic, not the full force of the law. In contrast, prohibitionists favored drastic government intervention. Unfortunately, they never anticipated the unintended effects: extreme gang violence, police corruption, depleted tax revenue, high cost of enforcement, etc. Hence its repeal.
It’s a super interesting (and instructive) period in U.S. history because the temperance movement was embraced by both social conservatives of Southern Christian persuasion as well as Northeastern liberals who were motivated by very different beliefs: religious fundamentalism, feminism, nativism, and progressivism (literally, Roosevelt’s Progressive Party). I hear its echo in recent political developments when seemingly diametrically opposed political factions end up with the same kinds of policy proposals. Maybe Prohibition was an early example of the horseshoe theory?
Anyway, my original point was that terms like conservative, traditional, etc. are tricky. A lot depends on having access to all the facts/data and how we frame them. And now there’s the added layer of the specific political movements they connote, which is a problem when Conservative doesn’t always mean conservative (or Liberal and liberal).
This video is *GOD TIER*
If you could only see 4 colours, what would they be and why?
You have a really enticing voice, would be great in movies 😂
My first experience with asmr at bedtime ... love coffee so this was my automatic choice.. what did I think??? You can tell me stories every night if you promise to first make a cup of coffee
I like my sugar with coffee and cream.
An interesting fact about the word "Dutch". It means people in Dutch just as Deutsch means people in Germany - hence Deutschland. So the Netherlands should be called Dutchland.
hmm. i did not know that. intersting
I love coffee and it is so good for you!
Roast it!
I am hypersensitive to caffeine
Thank god you didnt grind those beans up while the mic was running 😂😂
Dude when you blow up remember my insignificant channel and carry these words of wisdom. “Carrots make terrible glasses”.
Your videos are great and wonderfully relaxing. Just on small pronunciation error. Samual Pepys surname is pronounced Peeps.
interesting
Hate to do this but Samuel ‘Pepys’ is pronounced ‘Peeps’. The famous London diarist during the great fire of London and the plague in the mid 17th century. Also famous for burying his Parmesan cheese in the garden to save it from the fire!
Would make a good episode. Keep up the good work.
I plan to marry this man. And he shall asmr me to sleep every night.
VEGETA; What does the scouter say about his caffeine level!?
*no more battery*
omg how sweet is your coffee
The police are gonna need dogs to smell all the weed I have inside of 7 layers ziplock bags hidden in the insulation in my attic.
Haha you watch Fredsvoice as well that's where I found your channel
I have the same cup but goku instead lmao use it every morning
Scott Rhoads ayy ive got that one!
I have a Wonder Woman one.
I know, nobody cares. Carry on.
Oh yeah baby!😉
hey thanks for pronouncing my name right, that's rare
in a land far away i crushed some shit, drank that shit and then you zoomed in on your face and I spit that shit out threw my nose laughing
God I love coffee
I like a good cup of hot covfefe after I wake up.
I had some dreams, they were clouds in my coffee, clouds in my coffee, and.....you're so vain......
Don’t need dogs to smell this. ; ) I get it. Lol
Cool cup though 😱
