      Can this be done as your actual strength training, or is is just something that can supplement your training to make it easier by optimizing correct form? I hope that makes sense. I have read about research indicating that you don’t have to exercise to failure in order to build muscle. I used to be a competitive boxer and was in unbelievable shape, but due to a congenital ankle problem that started impacting me in my late teens, I had to give up boxing. Now I’m 39 and want to get back in shape, but can’t be on my feet for extended periods, so I’m very interested in this approach and how you used it to get in great shape.

    I’ve been trying to do this with pistol squats. Just when I’m doing my thing throughout the day, bust out a pistol squat on each leg, starting with the weaker one. Pistol squats or sissy squats are a great movement for this since they can be done anywhere as long as you have a floor, and they built up the quads

    Reps should also be done with maximum speed with proper form,techniqe range of motion and risk of injury even very small ones are very low. Becuse speed and strenght goes hand in hand. Stronger = faster, Faster = Srronger. Speed is very important.

    Low reps with half of the resistence for 'Greasing the Groove' isn't for muscle memory .... it is to ensure the energy systems of the body have fully recovered, specifically the recovery of the creatine phosphate in the muscles.

    Why not do this with barbell movements, just use a low weight. As it becomes easy just add small amounts of weight. Move more weight without the fatigue of a super heavy session. Like he said though, doesn't replace a normal workout.

    I tried that thing where you do a few reps every time you walk past a certain thing in your house.
    I ended up just not going there.
    *Does 5 pushups every time I walk in the hall outside my room*
    _Do I REALLY need to use the restroom..... nahhh...._

    • @Robloxman226
      @Robloxman226 8 років тому +1

      +KiesKo Enterprizes If you're really masochistic, just assign a different exercise to every area of the house. So every time you go to the kitchen, do 5 squats. Restroom, 5 pushups...
      That way, you'll hide in your room until hunger drives you out into the kitchen, which makes you use the restroom...

    • @paraAA82
      @paraAA82 8 років тому

      +Sheshan Patel totally different exercises. Targeting different muscle groups, but for pure point of view of getting stronger pull ups and chin ups are better. You are working with your own body weight and even you can add extra weight (weighted vest, weight belt) to make the exercise more challenging.

    I misunderstood, so, for instance, you do 2 push-ups and later that day you do 2 and 3 and 4 etc OR is it like the first day you do 2 every time, the second day you do 3 and 4 etc. ?

    • @torerosnes8556
      @torerosnes8556 8 років тому

      +Den Tkachivsky
      You just do a couple of repetitions of an exercise when you find the time. Don't do so many reps that you get tired, or muscle fatigue. For me that would be 3 pullups, as I would struggle with the 4th and fail the 5th.
