Very interesting video! Was that a food truck when you came out of the store?

Yes, one food truck. They have one there usually on the weekends. The vendors rotate and there is only space for 1 truck.

    Quick question.
Does Taiwan rely on food from Mainland? Or can they grow their own?

      Great question
Taiwan does grow a decent amount of food, like fruits and rice, but does rely on imports from many different countries because there just isn't enough usable land to grow. The majority, around 40%, comes from the USA. I believe around 10% is from China.

@@fetalgiraffe7 I was guessing they will try to rely less on China. I didn't know they import that much food from USA.
      Thanks for letting me know.

I am not sure about food, but i am pretty sure that the toilet paper in Taiwan is almost 100% imported from China Mainland. Without its support, Taiwan people will not be able wipe the ass after the poo. Yes, Taiwan can manufacture world leading chips, but is not able to make a paper roll. Funny.

Just like any other developed country, they produce their own, they export some, and they import from all over the world. While thee is trade with PRC, it's not a large % of total trade, ie they don't rely on it, which is a wise decision imo.
