I'm just always amazed at how well they play, how tight they are as a group, and how much fun they appear to be having while obviously working so hard. How does a novelty band slap so much? Their music is legitimately good.
I remember seeing the Hoosier Hot shots in ROCKIN' IN THE ROCKIES with the Three Stooges from 1945. They performed a song called WHAHOO a country and western song that became a great favorite of mine.
This band slaps. And it’s truly refreshing to see someone put legitimate effort into playing the slide whistle. It’s not exactly a *fantastic* instrument, but it’s still a real instrument. I get it, slide whistles are inherently funny, but it’s possible to be funny and *not suck* at the same time.
