I grew up in lake forest near the station (my first house when I moved here was literally a minute walk from the backyard gate to the platform), and I ALWAYS wanted to see a steam train pass through! I missed 765 and 1003, but was completely overjoyed that I finally had my childhood dream come true! Though I’ve since moved to the east side, I took the trip back to my old stomping grounds in memory of my father who had suddenly passed a little over 2 years prior and whose grandpa worked for the railroad. Honestly, I’d do it again just for the kid in me!
Canadian Pacific 2816 is a epic famous steam locomotive of Canada that is by far the most popular one. I’m so happy that I was able to see this steam locomotive back in April 24th of this year 2024.
Thank you and the crew, Andrew, for this video of CPKC 2816 traveling from St. Paul, Minnesota to Davenport, Iowa. I enjoyed watching this video. You caught the steam train in some interesting locations.
I normally don't watch videos this long, but yours was so well done, I couldn't turn it off. Excellent job. I do have one question. What kind of camera(s) is your team using?
How do you find out when 2816 will leave a specific place? I will be in Davenport, IA on the day it leaves there (July 1) and I want to know how to know when to go out and see it
Usually your best bet is to get a scanner that you can listen to and you're able to find out when CP 2816 departs a specific place. But in our case, we happen to know through various people that we have connections to that we find out. -Andrew Mangalindan
