Awesome. Its awesome to see couples out doing fun stuff together. Me and my wife ride a 2014 Harley Ultra Classic. Because of her back surgery, she can no longer ride... I miss these days so We have to live the couple ride life thru you guys. We can car ride but its not the same. Ride and be safe...
I am sorry to hear that. I was an active pilot for over 30 years. I never thought I would ever find a rewarding replacement. Then I learned, its not what magic carpet you chose as long as it has magic.
Went riding twice over the Memorial Day weekend. Weather was mild but skies overcast. Ryding was comfortable with only my light riding jacket. Friday, I only wore a flannel shirt.
I enjoyed watching the very scenic trip around the great dismal swamp. I've also learned the hard way to add more rest days on my long distant motorcycle road trips.
Wow, talk about polar opposites..! We've just enjoyed(?) our first 105+ week here in Las Vegas, pretty early in the year for even us. I'd probably bundle up in a long-sleeved shirt in your weather..! This pandemic ruined our trip to Florida this spring, we're just hoping we can get away this fall, maybe up to the Washington area. We've got another G-Grand due around there in August. "We've gotta get out of this place..," is the mantra around here. Glad you got out for a day, keep it up... and be safe!
Morning John and Mirium. Viewed the memorial day video. Very well done. Simple dining the way y'all did it is good enough for anybody except for one thing when we meet in July I'll be bringing my own ready made coffee in a thermose might be enough might give ya a taste. Bears are becoming quite common now a days they are here in the Burg. Once again good to see that y'all are so inspired to ride gives us hope when things are not going the way we'd hoped. Till next time have a great May 30th.
Haven't ridden around the Dismal Swamp, but returning from the 2015 Spyder Fest in Myrtle Beach, took 17 all the way to Fredericksburg and back roads to home in Stafford. Was a very scenic trip except for traffic in Wilmington, NC.
Just a thought for your 2021 trip.. Starting I SF going all the way up the coast and flying home from Eugene Oregon or Portland.. BTW.. Love your videos. Got me started. You guys are great.
I ran the number on that, the shipping of the Spyder and trailer with airline ticket. It would be cheaper to just ride home. This time I am going to pace myself....
Picked it up at the Maggie Valley rally two years ago. It was from a small vendor (can’t recall the name unfortunately). Not sure what you might be able to find online but might be worth a search.
John does your passenger get much wind buffeting in the passenger seat? We had a goldwing for awhile and my passenger wasn't as protected as she was on the Harley's we've owned and currently ride. Enjoy your videos!
Brought back memories of taking a boat from Ft Lauderdale to NYC and we went thru the Dismal Swamp Canal. I need to get back up there and explore the land portion.
Really enjoyed the ride and chat. Would love to know how many miles you done. Nice to arrive home early and put your feet up and relax. Weather has been unusually good here in SE England all of April and May.
I think even though it was a chilly day, sort of, you were out of the house, away from another day of in the house. However I would be a bit careful about wishing for alligators and bears, comes under the category of be careful what you wish for unless they are at a distance. Good to see you are planning next years trip, that is being positive and stay healthy.
Trying to say Helinox folding chairs...camping chairs that we carry with us on the Spyder. We love them bc they are light, fold up small and easy to assemble... plus they have a nice headrest good for napping. Adirondack is comfy...but have never seen one that would fold up!
Great ride! Enjoyed going with you. Thanks for sharing, we enjoyed it. ~Paul
Thanks for sharing.
Nice.

Nice video 👍 enjoyed learning about the history of the waterway.

Love the video, thanks for taking us along... And I to have been on a
few rydes, where "the love came back".... be safe
Glad to see you two back on the road again. Sure is a lot of flat country in your area .
I agree on the flat country, I prefer what I like to call 3D Real estate,,,
I live 60 miles north of San Francisco. If you make it out would love to show you the Northern California coast.
That would be so awesome!
Look up the Avenue of the Giants. So beautiful

It maybe latter in July, next year for you, but the Deadwood rally in South Dakota would be a stop heading back. It's held in first part of July.

I really need the sweatshirt Miriam is wearing! Where can I get one?
Love your content and can’t wait for the next Asphalt Odyssey! 👍🏻👍🏻

Miriam Bryant - Not gonna lie, I’ve already scoured the internet!
I was thinking the same thing! Love the sweat shirt!!
I found your channel by searching for "alligators" in Dismal Swamp this morning. You guys are goals! I look forward to following you!

Hi David. John has the ability to raise the windshield which helps a lot with the wind that I experience in the backseat.
Thank Miriam. My passenger is my wife and been my passenger ever since I started riding. My next bike will probably be a Can Am Spyder.
Always enjoy your videos. If you really want gators come on down.. I'm right above tampa.
Enjoyed the trip very much guys! Here’s hoping things continue to ease and reopen more everywhere in the next few weeks.

I saw a sign in Florida for cyclists, "move over when cars approach", and all along the side of the road were alligators :)

We have put in 17,000 on her in the last 3 years.
110 degrees here in Phoenix
whoo-boo! That's hot, even if it is "dry" heat!

I think you're referring to Adirondack chairs, and yes very much nap approved. 😴

If you’re looking for some beautiful “logs in the water” alligators you must visit Myakka State Part on the west coast of Florida!
With all the negative weather we have had over the past two years, planning a cross country trip will be challenging.
Who's this "prudence" you speak off?
A word I sometimes ignore, some times for the best....
