This trainer is a TEACHER! There is a difference! Most trainers don't teach...they just set up cones! This guy is dope! Working my son out...and I'm glad I landed on his video's.
love this build of progression. you can see him learning as the reps continue, I never knew the details behind shifting a defender as far the feet moving and chest/shoulder reads. Great work!!
Great work Tim! Never thought of the chest and shoulder movement as far as getting past your defender. Also the keeping the ball by your shoulder on a lay-up. Very detailed
Yo sometimes it's good to change the pace of your dribble...I used to play semi pro soccer and a lot of the great players would vary in pace to throw you off! just a note...look at messi dribble.
Can somebody explain the see chest change direction rule to me? It’s a little confused because I’d think to change directions if I see shoulder as the defender is more in front
Trae Young is a very good player and this guy had to have made him a lot better because the drills he's doing I can do it better as of now, but then I'm 5'9 and if I want to be in the NBA I have to be better lol. I want this guy training Trae young to be my trainer lol.
Hey Tim, you two still working together? Would be awesome to see how the trainings changed since he got into the league, like to see what it is he feels he needs to work on more to take that next step etc.
Why cant you change the direction you see shoulder? If you see shoulder and change direction the defender has to turn his whole body to keep up with you. At that moment you are already by him. I mean you can also keep going forward but why not also change direction and the step back or somethin. This is a little strange. Bc coaches always saying that when the defenders commits to one side you go the other. Basic
He saying basically if you see that the guy has turned his body at all then get low and attack his hip because you have an opening. It’s either shoulder
This video helped me to know when to change direction or use counter moves against defense. It showed me that I should do a counter move to change direction when my chest is facing the defenders chest or when he cuts me off.
I struggle with changing direction and beating defenders of the dribble. Everytime i drive, i get pushed away or slow down. I cant see where my defenders chest is, so it is hard for me to counter/change direction.
its just to throw the defender off balance. you always want to keep them off balance, your feet control the defense, you can throw an entire defense off with good foot work
Basics to defense in most man defense other than staying between the man and the rim is beating the man to the spot. If you see chest there they beat you to the spot. If you see shoulder they are still trying to get there so you get low and blow past
Somebody help me understand this. so when he says if you see their chest when your going one way counter and go the other way. but when you see their shoulder get low and keep going. someone please explain this. I dont know how your suppose to see their shoulders first without seeing their chest so how does this someone explain please.

Exactly! SMH
Exactly. I told my son to actually listen to what he's saying. No coach/trainer he has had has come anywhere close to this level of detail.

It’s amazing
Word a lot of times they show the finished result without showing the process when nothing is inspiring about that

This gold 🔥
what's the first instrumental at the beginning of the video??
Jamir Carr ik this was a long time ago but “What Time It Is” by Benny
The exercise is correct and good, but the explanation at the beginning is wrong.

Get low when you drive use your shoulder to attack their hip
JELLY
can you explain why you react the way you do when seeing shoulder or chest?
Alan Liu I think it's just to get passed your defender more easily getting into the lane
i understand that part, im just a little confused as to the methodology behind making each decision

Thats coaching right there

It’s like when they turned sideways tryna force you one way. They’re shoulder is closest to you
