Stumbled across Killing the Blues a few years back, and has remained my fav by Mr. Smither. I like many others now, but Killing remains the standard for me....lovely sound!
Ya know, I would love a children's album by him just saying (20:00). No lie, I used to bug John Prine to do one before he died. I miss bugging JP for that, maybe I just will have to bug Chris now :)
Beautiful songs, beautiful singing, outstanding playing. Have heard of Chris Smither but never really listened to his music. My mistake, but I've corrected it now...thank you so much for posting this, these songs are absolutely memorizing!!
I never heard the intro to No Love Today which included Chris singing the original tune he heard as a child. It was fully amazing and heartfelt. Thank you Chris!
