The album is called City to City (Scottish city and London). At this time in his life he was embroiled in a lawsuit with his old record company and band for Stealers Wheel. As such he had to frequently travel to London to speak with his lawyers, while in London he would visit a friend (also a musician) who lived on Baker Street they would drink and jam the night away and in the morning he would catch the train back to Scotland. Bakers street is a very famous street in London (the fictional Sherlock Homes lived at 221b Bakers St.) It's his friend that probably will not give up the booze and one night stands because he is a rolling stone. However, Gerry also had a drinking problem, he would die from a bad liver. I've always considered this song to be jazz fusion (a fusion between rock and jazz, which became popular in the late 1970s).

They miss so much of the feel of the song. Some even begin sermonising about some subject that isn't even related to the song. I sometimes think they are just doing the videos so they can hear themselves talk. So very annoying to me. This song was written by Gerry as he was travelling to and from Scotland to London to lawyers offices to deal with the Stealers Wheel band split, he wrote a few songs on the train journeys. There was a long standing argument about who wrote the solo that was eventually done on saxophone. The sax player Raphael Ravenscroft claimed it was his work, but this was later found to be untrue because Gerry had originally done the solo on guitar. Raphael Ravenscroft received 20 pounds for his solo but the cheque bounced. R.I.P Gerry Rafferty 1947 - 2011, Rip Rapheal Ravenscroft 1954 - 2014.

Music CAN and WILL do this to you! It can take you back to a long forgotten memory. It can fill you with emotion, it can spark your imagination. You can close your eyes and your head fills with images. It can inspire you, it can give you hope, it can take you away! Music IS MAGIC!

It’s amazing, nobody seems to know what this song is about, but everybody loves the sax, and the guitar at the end.

It’s so cool when she leans back and “ plays the sax” when he kicks it in. I do the same exact thing !

That iconic saxophone does it every time. It doesn't matter how many times you hear Baker Street, it still hits you......Gerry Rafferty has been described as having a liquid voice, and this track illustrates that perfectly........

Classic song. Masterful musically. Brings back memories as I am old enough to have been alive with this song came out.

This sounds like a remix of the original. And it sounds great. Unless it's been so long that I've forgotten some of the subtleties.

One of my favorite artists of all time. I own every album from Rafferty from the Humblebums to Stealers Wheel to his solo albums. I even sang one of his songs called The Ark at a talent show in college. The songs The Ark and The Garden of England are just a couple of my favorites. You two are cool thanks for the reaction.

The wind instruments are the best in the business! I believe it starts with a flute, and transitions into a sax... It's the most beautiful sound ever! 😁

THIS IS 1978. WHAT SEEMS TO SOUND LIKE A FLUTE IN THE SONGS INTRO IS ACTUALLY JERRY RAFFERTY ON GUITAR. HE WAS A VERY GOOD GUITAR PLAYER, AND THIS ALBUM WAS HIS MASTERPIECE. JUST GREAT.

I was hoping to catch you Chod today.....I didn't know Yes made an album in 1994....I didn't know, man.....I was in You Tube and You Tube brought up things that I might want to see or listen to.....and this album from Yes entitled, "Talk" came up....so i said let me click on this album and see and listen to Yes in 1994...right? Bro....Bro.....I was Blown AWAY!!!! Every track was GREAT!!!!! I had tears in my eyes of Joy and Ecstasy because it was sooooo good....A Masterpiece.....so I got on it and request every Reactor on You Tube who like Yes to listen and react to the album, "Talk." It has been 7 months.....since anybody has reacted...You my friends could be the second reactors to react to this album or this song "Endless Dream" on this album titled, "Talk."......sooooo underrated in the Age of Hip-Hop and Rap.....no one young or old or middle age knows about this Incredible album or this amazing song "Endless Dream,"!!!!! And that whole album is "Heavy Metal meets Ambient and Funk" Hahahaaha...lol....hahahaha...It left me "Speechless" Great Reaction from Popenyco who was the first reactor after 7 months of me requesting the song "Endless Dream" and the album "Talk" by YES.....and I Popnyco and other reactors will react to more songs on this "Talk" album from Yes released in 1994. I want you to react to the first two songs on the album "Talk." I want you to react to "The Calling" and "I'm Waiting."
