That’s awesome, Ziggy. That’s turned into a lovely propagation plant and will keep you supplied with plenty of cuttings 😁 Thank you for sharing with us my friend. Have a wonderful evening and Easter weekend from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌺🌸🌼🏜
Hello Ziggy, what a very interesting video! I can't believe how hard it was to take a cutting but you made it look fairly easy. It helps to be correctly equipped. I'm picking up one tool at a time as needed. Thank you for sharing. Happy Easter my friend!
Wotcha Jeff 🙂 Needed a bit of experimenting, easier when bits drop off 😁 Best tool you can get hold of is a big pair of tweezers. Have a lovely Easter my friend 😊😊🌵🌵
AWESOME propagation video Ziggy :-D I LOVE this Eve's Needle Cactus its a fantastic fast grower, thanks so much for sharing with us, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from across the Irish Sea for a wonderful Easter weekend XXXX
It don't hang around do it Lyn 😁 I recon about a foot a season 😲 Been looking more into making rainsticks out of them, found out they take the spines off, bang them back into the dried stem and then put a handful of gravel in them. Have a lovely Easter my friend 😊😊🌵🌵
@@ZiggySearchfieldCactus thats amazing they make rainsticks from these, we have a rainstick and the little slash marks are all over it from where the spines would have been, if they could make sunsticks I would be buying a million more of them haha XXXX 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You are welcome 🙂 Mine are just starting to shed last year's leaves. I'll need to cut the tops off this year as they'll out grow the cactus house 😮 Thanks for watching 🙂🙂🌵🌵
Oh I sent a comment but it didn’t show up- how strange! Just to say I remember this ‘stalk-like ‘ piece of Eve’s Needle being left out in the elements on the roof. Luckily it lifted its head (as you said)and you took pity on it and brought it in before the Winter cold set in & it is just re-paying you for it’s rescue !😀 I have never heard of rainsticks😄Thanks!
I got a notification of the other comment ta 👍🏼It is happier now than being on the shed 😁Looking forward to making a Rainstick now, can worry all the locals with it 😁Cheers for watching Diana, have a lovely Easter 😊😊🌵🌵
My eves needle are way smaller compared to yours. It had a pup growing in the same pot, but it seems to have turned yellow and become floppy. Not sure what happened to it
You might have the monstrose variety or one of the smaller Austrocylindropuntias. Have you re potted recently? Might be mealybugs on the roots or it just needs a feed 🙂🙂🌵🌵
@@newbotany I've just been looking at the price of rain sticks on Amazon, £12 for a short one and up to £50 for a long one. Might be better off making them than selling cacti 😄😄
