thank you Bro. Jared H. i have an unbelieving husband and i never pressured him about my faith , but he sits besides me in the church and always reminds me of going to the temple because he loves to drive me over there , while waiting for me , he goes to visit a guitar center because he plays hard metal . even when he was courting me, he would call to wake me up to prepare for Sunday school because i had to drive an hour to go to church. He always said that he loves to see me happy and at peace and he noticed that whenever i attend the church and go to the temple.
Keep going! Never stop believing and being a good example! I did that same routine (except my hubby would go to a climbing wall or just sit in the car in the temple parking lot because he liked the way he felt there) for 16 years. Two years ago, he took me INSIDE the temple, and we were sealed. It was worth every minute of waiting!
Bro Halverson craziest thing! I was feeling super miserable after a huge, long dental operation today and first thing I do to take my mind off the pain is put on this podcast. First thing you say is that you just got finished at the dentist. Funny something little like that but I felt like God is letting know he’s aware of me!
I finished this podcast today (listened to it over a couple days in parts) and was also at the dentist just before this last listen. Learning more about God's word via his prophets and this channel is indeed uplifting! 😊
Thank you for your continued efforts! I get so happy when a new video comes out. I have never spent much time in the bible but these past two years have been some of the most insightful years of study. It has helped me tremendously. I thank my Heavenly Father that we live in such a day where apostles, prophets and scripture are abundantly available to study and those who have humble understanding of truth are willing to take time to share with others. Thank you!
Brother Halverson, thank you so much for your explanation of 1Peter 3:1-2! I cannot explain what peace and comfort it brings to my heart! I joined the church in 1982. My husband was not happy about my decision but over the years I've learned to be "suave." He still is not interested in learning about the gospel (at least overtly) but has moved from anger and resentment to acceptance and now is even supportive! Some years ago I was extended a call as a Relief Society president, which was unexpected to say the least. I told my bishop that he'd need to come to my home and explain the calling to my husband before I could accept. (first time he'd ever met a bishop) To my surprise, the bishop came to our home with our Stake President. in tow! I thought when they explained the calling he'd say no, that's asking too much. To my complete surprise, my husband simply nodded and said, OK, she can do that! He totally supported me and even helped me fulfill that calling. He's not yet a member but patience and God's timing are everything! I have faith that he'll be ready one day!
I really appreciate the opening to chapter 4. I've been testifying of such when I can, "I want as few sins as possible in the future to add to the pain Christ felt and feels for me". It's looking at the past as if the present causes it, in a way. But it's helpful fuel to be better
Oh, my goodness! To answer your question, yes, I sensed Peter's testimony. I felt exhorted, especially as a wife of a mixed-faith marriage. I often pray for the softening of my husband's heart and do all I can to hold back being zealous as the woman, you described from your mission. Thank you again for that reminder, I needed it. I will be patient, trust in God and be suave 😄. I will also ponder 1 Peter 3:15
Oh, Brother Halverson-I sooooo love what I learn from you! I never knew that trial and temptation were the same word but decades ago I did this to 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no trial of your faith taken you but such is necessary for the Elect of God, but God is faithful who will not suffer you to be tried above what you must to gain Exaltation, but will with that trial of your faith, also provide a way that ye may be able to bear it.
Brother Jared..this has been so lovingly taught❤. I feel as though Peter himself is here explains these sacred works to me. Thank you once again for your faithful heart. The light of the Spirit always shines through❤️😇. Keep up the good work brother👍. David
It's really good to hear from you in the morning Love These books of Peter Hope your family is doing well and enjoying 🍂 Autumn and soon Thanksgiving holiday Prayers for you all ❤🙏 3:48
Continue...we must also be persistent with consecrations, until we receive. Remember the old woman who went to the judge over, and over until he finally gave her what she desired. So it is with the Eternal Judge toward His Children.. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Thank you-😊❤ I so appreciate you … to explain what I am reading…. I enjoy the details, background and connecting the dots. The icing is your experiences demonstrating how this was used or applied to the doctrine and scriptures. 😊
I learned so much from this lesson, both about the scriptures and about my own life experiences. Little did you know you would be the answer to many of my prayers tonight. Mahalo from Hawaiʻi.
I like Pascals thought of logic for non believers, similar to President Hinckley: "if God does not exist, the individual incurs only finite losses, potentially sacrificing certain pleasures and luxuries. However, if God does indeed exist, they stand to gain immeasurably"
Part of the process of been patient, it is also doing spiritual things that will show the Lord that we desired to do to show our trust in Him, and also our mighty faith that we can receive a miracle if one's desire is righteous. The Lord never fails when we make a covenant with Him to consagrate lets say fasting, for His help in the softening of the heart of that individual, toward the Gospel. Also consagration of Temple work for the same matter. Is also good to ask the Lord for inspiration on what we should consacrate unto the Him for his help. Remember knock and it shalt be open. Ask and it shalt be given. What we ask for, must be righteous.
I seriously laughed so hard when you were talking about the part of the dog turning to its own vomit. I was like “oh man he went there!” Powerful visual/metaphor and I loved it! 😂

I love your teachings....and respect your wisdom....can we expand the husband in 1 Peter 3:1 to include husbands within the church, for not all church husbands are followers of Peters admonishments ...or understand it fullness....thank you in respect❤
Spirit Prison is the name of the spirit world as we are prisoned from our bodies. And in the spirit prison we have two places to go to. Bad side = hell; good place = heaven. Do Mormons believe in the heaven/hell concept? Yes. The beauty of this is that if you go to hell, it’s not the end of the story. You will get preached to, get baptized, & receive all the ordinances needed to be resurrected to any one of the 3 degrees of glory.
1:43:12 hours in comment: The Helmet of Salvation/Christ being the shield for our Mind…the robe/cloth that girds the loins of our minds. Covenant (the robe) relationship with Him endowing us with the mental spiritual power to resist or desist or heed not what the wicked (one/s) will say. Having no more disposition to do or say or think evil. It no longer occurs to us to think of it that way. Let alone do that. I was thinking how the shielf of faith covers our hearts and other vital organ. So the Shield that covers our minds must be that Helmet. Just sharing :)
Wonderful lesson, as always! Thanks so much! But I'm surprised you didn't mention in discussing 1 Peter 3:20-21 that the "like figure" referring to the number "eight" could also be reference to the age at which children become eligible for baptism, which saves us. This appears to be an inference that the Church in Peter's time baptized children at age 8 (or older) and not as infants. Do you agree?
In Relief Society on Sunday, we discussed souls who died in their sins and yet will be taught the gospel in the spirit world and receive every blessing of Salvation, as it says in D&C 138:58-59: "The dead who repent will be redeemed, through obedience to the ordinances of the house of God. And after they have paid the penalty of their transgressions, and are washed clean, shall receive a reward according to their works, for they are heirs of salvation." So one sister, whose husband has never been a member, asked: "So what is earthlife for if we all can repent and receive salvation after we die? Why not eat, drink, and be merry?" And I had the same question. So my husband who left the church will have the opportunity to repent in the spirit world? Are we not commended to repent while we live in what Alma called, "this life became a probationary state?"
I've got someone at church who is a constant faith shaker. He's always reaching beyond the mark, seeking to persuade others to doubt their faith. What do you suggest to minimize the damage he is inflicting in the name of academic debate?
Ask him the questions Halverson asks such people: "Are you asking questions because you want answers, or because you want us to have questions?" Or "Do you want to believe? Or do you want us to disbelieve?" If that doesn't work, you can confront him about his favorite sin, ask him if he considers it a sin before God and seeks to repent. If he is one who loves his sin or denies it to avoid shame, then a discplinary counsel will fix the problem. But before you take any action on this though. GO TO THE TEMPLE. Pray about it there. God's answer for you may not be anything mentioned here. And before you ask God in the temple, study this matter out in your own mind. Search the scriptures for similar situations like Nehor or the false/rebellious prophesyings against Moses and Joseph Smith. You can do this. You are a child of God among the elect chosen to prepare for the second coming. Godspeed and God bless, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Here is what Alma said on the topic: For behold, if ye deny the Holy Ghost when it once has had place in you, and ye know that ye deny it, behold, this is a sin which is unpardonable; yea, and whosoever murdereth against the light and knowledge of God, it is not easy for him to obtain forgiveness; yea, I say unto you, my son, that it is not easy for him to obtain a forgiveness.” Nephi was promised Godly power in Helaman 10 because God essentially could trust that he wouldn't misuse it. David had been given similar privileges of light and truth and still conspired in the death of an honorable servant of both himself and God. This isn't much better than what Judas did. He was fortunate to receive forgiveness at all, but exaltation? No. No grand prize for any murderer. That's a breach of trust that a just God will not restore.
Once again myself and my dear wife have been the recipients of wonderful gospel nourishment.
Today is the 40th anniversary of being Baptised.
Happy baptiversary!
Congratulations 🎉

I feel exactly the same way! I love the chosen and I love Brother Halverson, and I am so grateful for both!

Around 58.00 part member couples sounds just like the movie War Room!!

Could you add the dates to your title? Nov. 20-26
If king David was forgiven, why did he loose his exaltation
Here is what Alma said on the topic:
For behold, if ye deny the Holy Ghost when it once has had place in you, and ye know that ye deny it, behold, this is a sin which is unpardonable; yea, and whosoever murdereth against the light and knowledge of God, it is not easy for him to obtain forgiveness; yea, I say unto you, my son, that it is not easy for him to obtain a forgiveness.”

He was fortunate to receive forgiveness at all, but exaltation? No. No grand prize for any murderer. That's a breach of trust that a just God will not restore.
