I don't know what group you are thinking about but I agree this gives older kpop, not in a retro way but I guess just the 'feeling' of it? When Kpop felt a little more edgy, dark and emotive but in a very melodic way rather than "noise". It gives something a little different. I'd say actually it gives a b side actually but also should a clearly be the title track also. You know them times when yoy have a fave b side on album and you wish it was the title, it's giving that somehow LOL.
yeah definitely 3rd gen vibes where it was more melody focused with a good long singing chorus. You could almost say that you get "deja vu" listening to it. it feels familiar but its also new and I think that's very much the intention.
