  • This is a behind the scenes diary of us building an app product to make money with it. I’m hoping to document all the roadblocks, decisions and lessons learned along the way.

Here’s the tenth vlog entry dated April 18, 2024.
The mood tracker app is done and we’re doing some internal testing via Testflight. In this vlog, i want to show you the finished app and show you how beta testing in TestFlight works, both as a tester and as an admin.
It’s unscripted and raw so I apologize if it’s a bit rambly and not up to our usual production standards but it reflects my real unfiltered thoughts and experiences.
I hope you find some value in watching this!

it’s the difference between a chronological order and a to do list mentality that I think you’re running into if it were to do list then yes things / critical things would be on top ….but if you’re dealing with chronological, I think the latest thing should at the bottom … as long as you DON’T have to scroll to find it

Most recent at the top and the past scrolling down. That feels more natural
Great video for sure. It helps

Hi, Chris great job by the way. After watching the video I have some feedback as requested.
I agree with what you said about the calendar, it should move to the next month as you scroll down - looking to the future dates
On the add new entry screen the padding of the date or the entry field needs to be closer to the relevant field, you become almost snow blind… by not really knowing which date the entry belongs to because the spacing is an equal distance throughout, the date should be nested just below the entry if that makes sense? Sorry if i’m not explaining myself very well. 😂
On the log screen, the historical entry dates should be below your current date… as if like a history of logs, something like a list of account purchases or bank a statement.
So the opposite of both elements of what you currently have imo. My reason for this is because you scroll down to look to future dates. In a calendar. But also when looking for your most recent activity you expect that to be at the top, then if chosen, you can look back (down) through your entries (history).
    I hope that helps ✌️

I understand your logic for what for entries but looking at other apps like chats the current date/entries are at the bottom. Another thing you should do is to allow multiple selects on things like the current weather.

I guess think of other iOS apps. Messages, Mail, etc newest dates at the top in list view. In calendar view the opposite.
