You can goof on this movie a bit for being uber-90s but the actors absolutely nail it here; "Go for it Angus" still gives me chills. And Fade Into You as the song choice has aged extremely well
When I disvovered the beauty of Mazzy Starr, the song "Fade into You" and this beautiful moment where Angus got his one time to shine .... it was as good then as it is now. Go for it Angus
Always wanted to find my own Melissa LeFever when I was a chubby little angus. Found this movie on VHS at a Big Lots when I was young and it’s probably one of my favorite childhood films. YOU BROKE HIS NOSE, ANGUS!
Same here!! I found this in 1997 flipping through the tube knob and connected instantly as i related to angus. I wasnt a chubby kid, but i was definitely outcasted like him. Ironically Melissa Lefevre looked exactly like my crush at the time. Her name was Antoinette and she was the most beautiful girl in the world to me. I was shy and scared like him.
One of my favorite 90s movies, can''t believe more people haven't seen it, especially from that era. slipped through the cracks for a lot of people, hope they get to discover it one day. This was the song my wife and I danced to at our wedding...still not sure if it's a love song exactly, but I knew I wanted to feel the way this scene makes me feel which is hopeful and grateful. beautiful song and scene, followed shortly after by weezer's "you gave your love to me softly", absolute peak 90s greatness
I think it slipped through the cracks because it wasn’t really flushed out. Someone was trying to be John Hughes, and it didn’t work. But in a weird way, it did. I just needed more info. You don’t know anything about any one until the end. Purposely? Idk. But it’s a good movie.
Always liked this film myself and even more since it was supposed to take place in my neck of the woods. Just trying to imagine how a sequel 30 years later would be Angus and Troy still best of freinds and of coarse Angus and Melisssa still together with their own kid. Their own kid would be close to grandma (Bates) much like Angus was to grandpa. But of coarse there needs to be a plot that is different from the original so we don't ruin the good thing that Angus is or was. In the end some films just don't need a sequel as they are pretty perfect as they were.
this was a touching scene. the girl he's loved so long....he got to dance with...Sven if for only a moment. and to the romantic song Fade into you by Mazzy Starr I was like him in a lot of ways so I thought "all right man....you got your moment. incredible! !"
I was picked on and bullied so much in middle school and couple years of high school, I would watch Angus on VHS everyday after school, It honestly helped me survive. 🖤
the 90s wasnt full of good shit like this, it was full of color me badd, george michael, murphy brown, rosie o'donnell, fuckin tony rich project, whos the boss, adult-oriented garbage mostly. i didnt forget.
I love it when the camera keeps changing back to the angle of him with his eyes closed going with the beat of the song. Gives me chills. Love this song and this scene
This 2:40 seconds means and says alot, only certain people will ever understand the beautiful meaning of a powerful scene like this.People who hate and bully only do that to make themselves feel better what does that tell ya? I never got bullied, it was until I seen a close person who I cared about getting bullied that changed me.
I agree with you guys my favorite scene too. Mazzy Star playing Fade into You. I have that album. when I watch this movie I think of my grandpa right away. The conversations Angus has with his grandpa George C. Scott is similar to me and my grandpa. Me and my mom took care of him especially his last three months. I would of loved to of watched this movie with him. I would have so much to tell him right now. Not to bring any of you guys in a down mode. I just wanted to share this. Because I don't see a movie like this anymore. Few and far between
Came here because I discovered and fell in love with this song recently. A nostalgic scene like this is exactly what I thought of when I first heard it. Now I wanna watch the movie.
I am 30/and I have been looking for this film for years! I forgot what it was called and remembered this scene the most, I heard a song it brought me here I found you after all these years! 😍
that's almost exactly my story with it, though I remembered the name of the movie somehow. I hadn't been watching the movie; my brother was. This scene came on and it made me look up, and made such an impression on me because of its beauty. Still one of my favorite movie scenes EVER. ... Although, part of what makes it so impressing, and so beautiful, is because of how hauntingly sad and painful it is. A feeling that guys like "Dawson," in this scene, will never experience.
I remember hearing this song when I was like 18 and being floored at how much I loved it and feeling like I’d heard it before but never knowing where or when. Finally answered… I’m 34 and I watched this film religiously through the 90s!! 🤣🤭 this scene !! YES ANGUS
Totally relate to this, 34 now but pretty much went through what angus did with being the "fat kid" ( well except the prom scene) but funny enough i ended up with a really beautiful woman that looks like Melissa. So funny when youre the odball out you never dream you get the girl you long for. I am here to say...to all the folk out there that are different, left of center it happens. I am proof. Keep your head up. Love and peace to you all
This movie give me so much hope back in highschool , but the reality in my school days never changed independent how much i tried , still I'm glad to see some people in the comments had it better , stay safe! .
This film is my youth. Angus was me. I was the chubby, smart kid, who was decent at sports. Something like 29 years have passed since seeing this film for the first time, and I'm marrying the love of my life wearing a purple suit... I mean plum.
i remember this film from when i was in school. I always rooted for agnus, and was so happy he got the girl in the end. Its a simple but feel good movie when your that age
You need to watch the movie again. He didn't get the girl in the end, that is the beauty of the film. He just starts talking to her at that night, she only kiss him on the cheek. The movie is about the build up of confidence in Angus and how he can be himself and succeed.
Great movie! I have watched this film once in my childhood about 22 years ago but I remember it. No superheroes, no special effect, but great story of simple young man.
one of the best scenes in 90's film history
Absolutely agreed. I love this movie a lot. :D
I agree. I love this scene
Totally agree
Amen :-)
i always thought i'd dance to this song in high school too. A perfect scene!
Go for it, Angus.
You can goof on this movie a bit for being uber-90s but the actors absolutely nail it here; "Go for it Angus" still gives me chills. And Fade Into You as the song choice has aged extremely well
I rented this in the 90s and it still makes me cry age 29.
Rented it and watched it over and over 💜
same.
🙋🏻♂️
Yes worst part was when the grandpa died. I’m 32
woah dude, i love the movie too but. crying?
they Don't make movies like this anymore
they do,
Some Freaks is a good one.
High School Record is another good one.
Fat Kid Rules the World is another good one.
They make movies now that they think will appeal to everybody yet they appeal to nobody
No they don’t
They sure
They don't make anything good like this anymore. NOTHING LIKE THE 90s
When I disvovered the beauty of Mazzy Starr, the song "Fade into You" and this beautiful moment where Angus got his one time to shine .... it was as good then as it is now. Go for it Angus

Before there was Dawson in Dawson's Creek or the Sherminator in American Pie, there was Angus!
yes
Mox was a tool!
Don't forget about E from Entourage
What happened to the kid who plays Angus?

What a legendary scene, soundtrack, and mood. Extremely mellow, nostalgic, and beautiful
this was a touching scene. the girl he's loved so long....he got to dance with...Sven if for only a moment.
and to the romantic song
Fade into you by Mazzy Starr
I was like him in a lot of ways so I thought "all right man....you got your moment. incredible! !"
Such a great movie with an even better soundtrack.
This movie changed my life! I believe I survived school because of Angus!
I was picked on and bullied so much in middle school and couple years of high school, I would watch Angus on VHS everyday after school, It honestly helped me survive. 🖤
Damn, I miss the 90s.

I understood Angus. I loved Angus. I was an Angus. ❤️

Have you seen "The Perks of Being a Wallflower"? I think you'd like it.
Came here because I discovered and fell in love with this song recently. A nostalgic scene like this is exactly what I thought of when I first heard it. Now I wanna watch the movie.
Definitely a great movie
Awesome scene. The haunting quality of the song completes it.
This is a unrated 90s movie. It needs to be on a streaming platform form so everyone can enjoy
It’s on Tubi
Wow this brings back memories. I was in middle school when this movie came out. I always remembered this song but couldn’t think of the name.
Fade mazzy star
Could they have made this scene any more perfect? Only if we got to watch them dance the entire song. This is so beautiful... great movie!
Awesome movie, still have the VHS, one of the best IMO
same
Troy rooting for his buddy "go for it Angus" 👊
Yes, that’s the part that always gets me choked up. The look on his face is so sincere. Love that kid.
One of my favourite scenes of all time.
Damn, this scene is bringing back some adolescent 90's memories growing up haha

I love that starship troopers used this song and it made it so much more emotional for me.
In the fight scene with Rico and Zander right?
Charlie Talbot...was actually on episode of Judge Judy ..he was with some one else who was a plaintif. Name came up as Charles Talbot.
Wow what a beautiful song. I have never seen the movie but I will definitely go get it now!!! Thanks for the music!!!!!!!
Mazzy Star.. Amazing scene
time for Angus to get the blu ray treatment... it's been too long!

Cutest movie scene ever! Such a brave young man.
it's utterly melancholy
Man I miss high school in the 1990s best of times I ever had.
lot a drinking, and football games?
I didn't go to my high school until 2002 but still the best time I ever had (I made the most of it :D)
Great movie!!!
Great song and great movie!
Filled with the perfect amount f teen angst, awkwardness and awesomeness.
Why isn’t this movie on one of those 50 streaming services?
It is. TUBI
I was 9 years old when this came out in 95. Beautiful memories.
one of my favorite movies! And songs...Mazzy Star
I love seeing these classic 90s movie scenes in my phone.
I was cheering for him during this scene.
i cheered for him after the scene. (hopefully he married her! :D :P :P
Big guy's probably the happiest he's ever been.
Awesome movie also a plus this is the school a graduated from, so many memories
They look cute together ♥️ I hope they ended up together after he walked her home !!
We really didnt appreciate the 90s at the time as much as we do now.

Still true
Used to rent this on a weekly basis when I was a kid back when eckerd was still around and had a movie rental room hahahahahaha.

It didn't get a wide release, but you can get a disk made from the Warner Archive Collection
Oooh time flies.... 😭😭😭😭😭😭
When angus asked " Whats normal?" We never would of guessed what "Normal" is in 2018 😂
Try 2020. Much worse now 😔
2018 - this sucks
2020 - hold my beer
you mean 2021? ... asshole
Screw em, Angus.
The song is so emotional
one of the best movies to come out the 90's angus is an amazing story love how he overcomes his bully at the end and gets the girl

"You look like Barney!" - Easter Egg: Salim Grant (Rick's friend) played Jason in the first three Barney and the Backyard Gang videos.
Is that the chick from Jurassic Park?
Yep it is.
A voz da Hope Sandoval é tão linda, assisti muito esse filme por causa dessa cena que toca Mazzy Star 💙
I Wonder Why This Song Is Not On The Soundtrack 🤔🤔
I still well up with tears. Ugly sight, an old man crying :(
She looked like an angel with her head on his shoulder.
❤
Don't concentrate, angus
Fui como o Angus, não desisti, resultado, me casei com a rainha do baile.
Parabéns cara! 😁
he knew his grandfather was watching, and that's why he danced so good
She also said screw em….just like his grandfather
