Excellent verbal explanation and visual demonstration, reinforced by some humorous advice. I had almost forgotten The Copa after a year of no dancing, apart from solo practice at home. I think this video may help me Cope 😂🕺💃
You should have a million subscribers, thank you for the amazing work! That entire movement is the COPA? I ask because I learned a similar movement but with a Cross Body Outside turn after the open break. I really love your videos! Sending love from México.
Nicely explained. I just got taught a "copa" as a right to right hand move, going into double handed (right to right and left to left) when the leader is stood behind the follower. My guess is the "copa" consists of a follower's quarter turn, with the lead stood behind and stopping the follower in front of the leader. Variations, can be done right to right or left to right or doublehanded, and then exited in various different ways?
Hi, that depends. We call the copa with a left turn the Copa and to the right side the Reversed Copa. Please check out our entire program on salsaventura.tv/
Hello, I like this show but its only me I am 72y, Is there a place in Charlotte NC 28226 that I could go put my learning into practice? But I wish I could come to your Studio!!!
thank you for this lesson, I have a specific question, Some of the demo salsa move before the teaching of some ppl does not start on 1 ( they dance on 1 but they start at 3 or 5 or 7 of the music) Is that normal to dance salsa on 1 like that. I danced swing and dancing like that is pretty normal in swing
In salsa there are two ways for dancing, ON 1 & ON 2, this represents the time you step on your left foot forward. If I could give you some advice it would be to practice with QUICK - QUICK - SLOW.. QUICK - QUICK - SLOW instead of 1,2,3..5,6,7. Cheers!
Bis V thanks, i know the concept and I was talking about salsa on1. I was asking if i can start my dancing salsa on1 on 3 or 5 or 7 of the music? I have no problem with my step. Just wondering about the concept
You can start on any count you want but please remember, it is a dance that you want to enjoy together. Most people are used to dancing eather on1 or on2. So dancing on 3, 5 or even 7 can be done but might work confusing for the partner that you dance with. That is why I would recommend dancing on1 or on2 and stick to that.
Really great instructions, you both are a tremendous inspiration to the community.
You are a genius - I never understood the copa before this despite dancing salsa for over four years
Hi, thanks! Truly appreciate it! You can find more videos at salsaventura.tv/
