Another great vid Jamie! Not too short-not too long; really highlights the crown jewels of the Linville Gorge. The only negative I feel is realizing how long ago it was since I hiked here regularly! Good times with the closest of friends in the late 80s and early 90s! Thanks for letting me know this was up.
This is a superb video, looks professionally done. I have hiked to Linville Falls from every vantage point and been to Wisemans View many times and have hiked to Table Rock and Hawksbill. But I have not hiked to The Chimneys, Shortoff Mountain or down into the Gorge other than on the trail that goes below Linville Falls. I have some exploring to do.
STK's Adventure Channel Thank you and thanks for watching! I'm glad you got to see it first hand. If you ever plan another trip up this way let me know and I can give you some suggestions of where to go in the gorge.
I like how you can see the trail from up above. Did not know how narrow the ridge could be. Have not hiked that section in Linville but now plan too. Should post this on Linville Gorge FB page!
Spec - TAC - u - LAR!!!!!!!! WOW! Gorgeous area, gorgeous trees, even saw some red, but I wonder why those two knuckleheads, aka Jamie Hastings and Tony Lee Glenn were never put on camera close up? Were they indeed kidnapped and you are an impostor? ;-) Either way FANTASTIC job! ;-)
Danny Fyffe Haha! Thanks Danny! We had fun and Tony got some really cool ground shots! I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with the videos we got. Thanks for watching!
Jamie Hastings Glad you got my warped humor! ;-) I too am waiting on Tony Lee Glenn to post his video. Maybe he lost too much weight on the trail and disappeared? Prying eyes want to know!
Danny Fyffe Next time you visit Danny - this is the place to go. I'll be posting part one of my version about 2pm today. Be sure to check it out. It was an amazing afternoon up there on the rim of the gorge.
Tony Lee Glenn I will be there next May and I expect to hire he FINEST guide in the state. You probably don't know him, but is name is Tony Lee Glenn So you can join us and see what it is like to see a fat old man climb a hill! ;-)
6888 Table Rock Rd, Newland, NC is one of the last addresses before the road turns to gravel. Once it turns to gravel just stay straight on Table Rock road until you see signs telling you to turn right to go to Table Rock. You will park in the Table Rock parking lot. Table Rock will be north of the parking lot. There is a trail going to the top. Great views! To go to the Chimneys, follow the trail south out of the parking lot. It's less than a half mile hike to where this video was made. I hope this helps!
Beautiful. Gives a local a new perspective on our beautiful part of the world.
We definitely live in a beautiful area! Thanks for watching and commenting!!
