I think you're taking the "thing of the month" a little too... obviously not seriously otherwise you'd see how silly a title like "asian american pacific islander history month" would be. i always thought the point of trying to eliminate racism would be to make it a non issue and focus on the persons achievements rather than where they originate from. ideas like mandated employment numbers, equal representation, require the discrimination of others to enforce. if most well qualified persons are of a particular colour, ethnic background etc in a particular field, discrimination must be applied to them to make things "equal".
