Sometimes, you just gotta do the studio version to really appreciate the song.

yep. This is not even remotely the best choice for this track. The studio version should have been the pick here, and IMO for react videos should normally be the first choice for almost any song.

One of the more memorable concerts on mtv, the band could not hear anything that night though. They described the feedback as a jet engine. This was the last song of the night, Axl couldn’t hear himself and left at the end, slash goes to find him, one of their sloppiest performances. However, the energy from this show is incredible and it’s regarded as a fan favorite. This was just an encore performances at the end of a tough night. A big contrast to this would be their performance of Paradise City or Knocking on Heavens Door at Freddie Mercury tribute.

that drummer/beat youre talking about there is an incredible documentary on it thaqt you should react to its only 20-30 mins i think
on a side note this entire album will burn your face off this is when GnR was the most dangerous band on the planet

Oh this is exciting, my favorite band of all time and perhaps a lesser known/underrated song but I may only feel that way cause rock music isn't what it was in this era so some of these classics fall by the wayside. Either way let's go!

I just want to say that I appreciate that you picked up on the groove of the drummer and how he's in the pocket. I saw these guys live in 1987 early on in their career and everything about it was good and raw but I really appreciated Steven Adler's drumming. Personally I thought he really made the show great.

I could listen to those drums all day long! This is my favorite song on this album, next to Paradise City, where the drums are amazing also. For me, the bottom end was everything with this band. Steven Adler never quite got the love he deserved for his work! Another song I love that's similar is Locomotive from Use Your Illusion II.

Rocket Queen is a girl named Barbi and her and her roommate started a band, and called it Rocket Queen. Slash use to call Barbi queen of the underground scene. But Axl was infatuated with Barbi. That is about all I really know. I'm sure a million people have already told you this.

This band had some of the best lyrics. For their time, they pushed some "new boundaries". Check out Double Talking Juve. Dead Horse, Coma and One in a Million. That last song stirred a lot of controversy back then.
Unfortunately. the drummer got himself terribly lost in heroin addiction.

Ohh, taking me back in time, sir..... was just 17 when this came out....was considered a rebel just for listening to them, my school mates too busy listening to " Red, red wine"....LOL...my 2 friends and I decided to get tattoos....and one friend got a tattoo of a woman riding a rocket for this song. I got a black widow for Alice Cooper's "Poison" and Fleetwood Mac "Gold dust woman" and my other friend got a cow skull for "Desperado" by the Eagles.... yeah.... music was our way of expressing.... might seem silly now, but it was a bonding moment that we will never forget, literally. This is one of their greats. Love you did this song!!!!!

Brother, I feel like going straight to the live version of a given song, dilutes your ability to truly hear the song, as it was originally intended. Although surprisingly, G-n-R, especially early on, we’re killer live! Which is crazy if you think about how much booze and drugs these guys were doing before and after shows. Probably during to! It amazes me how a player could play live, stoned out of their fucking minds! I’ve tried it, and I hated how I played! Sloppy and off-time! Guess the business has evolved over the years! Hardly anyone does anything more than a joint and a drink now and again! Not if they want to keep a job, in the industry! Nowadays you have to be a professional. Quality musicians don’t want to play with drunks and junkies. It’s a waste of time, and BABY, TIME IS MONEY, in this business! Rep is everything! Talent only takes you so far! A million talented guys out there, who eat healthy and do yoga!

Guns n Rose's as well as poison, were both bands who had fairly well documented interactions with porn stars of the time. Pretty sure this song is about an adult film star Axl became acquainted with.

It should be noted when you listen to the album track...the girl moaning in the breakdown...was an actual recording of Axl having sex with a girl in the recording studio...she was Adler's ex...

The song is about strippers. They were the ones that helped the band the most. They’d feed em, give em rides, give em drugs, money, whatever. The ending is more of a heartfelt side to that relationship where he’s saying he’ll be there for them as well.
