Ugh I wish the kid target section was like this when I was that age 😭 when I was able to fit kids clothes it was all rainbows, unicorns, emojis, flowers, hashtags, and dogs/cats.
All my work shirts for my suits came from the boys section, size 14-16 or size 16 depending on the brand. I can’t even fit in an 18. 😂 The guys at work hated me when i told them how cheap it was.
i feel like im part of the last generation where parents dressed their kids super dorky, i see kids nowadays and theyre all stylish and have cool haircuts and stuff. boys esp when i was young almost every boy either had some kind of plain and managable short haircut or a semi-bowlcut situation and now all the little boys i see look like tiktok stars.
Edit: This comment meant to be an over analyzation, overly philosophical, literally just food for thought about a hypothetical concern that will probably never happen. I’m not this distraught about a piece of fabric lol. In one way I love to see kids’ sections broadening their style selection for kids who want to express themselves in different ways, but it also makes me sad knowing that if they were to ever *completely* eradicate the unicorn/spaceship/rainbow style of clothes, the future adults of the generation will never have any nostalgic clothing because their adult clothes will be the same as the clothes they’ve always worn. In other words, their childhood won’t have an “era” of clothes. And if you REALLY think about it, this would just further propagate the perception of kids as tiny adults, and the expectation of them to be grown up at a young age 🤔 food for thought
@@niki4079 I’m sorry I didn’t make it clear enough that my comment was supposed to be overly analytical in nature and that I’m not ACTUALLY this concerned about kids clothes. Also the “they won’t have anything nostalgic” line was in reference to clothing, I know there’s obviously other things kids will have to look back on than just clothes 😂 but my comment was about clothes and the video was about clothes so I figured I didn’t have to specify but I can definitely see how it was interpreted that way; just a misunderstanding :))
@@sanaya.3800 they totally are mature enough for these clothes if they want to! The first line of my comment literally said I love that the kids section is broadening so youth are able to express themselves in different ways. My point was stipulated by the circumstance of other more common “kids” clothes ever being completely eradicated, which will probably never happen. This comment was more of a hypothetical slippery-slope observation and less of an actual concern of mine. But it is true that children are very often expected to act and think like adults, when they aren’t; that part is true and actually messed up
are you crying or lauging about it? ...bc i'm 38 and still fitting into the kids sections and i couldn't figure out whether the grown woman in the video was shopping for herself or her children, or both 🤧
@Saniyah Addu I’m not complaining, it’s just shitty that if you’re at a current spot in your weight and you can’t find clothes. People should still be able to have fashionable clothes.
@Saniyah Addu People feel very insecure about their weight(Like me) it's not just about losing weight it's about eating healthy N looking after yourself ... it's hard
When I was young I loved target's clothes section! It was fun styles, we could afford, and it wasn't too large of a space like a department store in a mall
I miss my black kitty cats and dark but cute clothes, they were like the unicorns clothing every girl remembers, but mine was darker colors. Kids, stick to your own stuff, us teens need OUR stuff
In my experience kids clothes are much cheaper and still great quality! I recently bought two kids sweatshirts and they fit so well! Like better than sweatshirts I spent double the price on for adults. My favourite pair of sweatpants are from the kids section too, perfectly baggy and exactly the right length with a super cute print, and they were so inexpensive. Also it helps that my style is obnoxious bright colours and sparkles. I spent half of my teenage years wearing black hoodies, this is my recovery.
I’m in college, I’m still small enough to fit into kids clothes and the jeans at target are my favorite pants that I own. I can’t find any other jeans/pants I like anywhere else. (not including leggings, I’ve found great leggings at marshall’s) If you fit into kids clothes and feel weird about buying them, get a gift receipt and pretend it’s for someone else and you don’t know if it’ll fit them.
I promise no one at the store including the cashiers care what you’re buying or if you buy kids clothes for yourself as an adult. I’m almost 26 but I’m 5’0 and 100lbs so I shop in women’s, juniors and kids. You don’t need to feel weird about bringing kids clothes to the register for yourself, the cashier couldn’t care less and won’t even remember it in 10 mins. Buy whatever you want (:
Buy what you like! Cashiers seriously don't even think about what they are ringing up (used to be one) they see sooo many products and sooo many people they really just ring stuff without thinking. Sure we try to be friendly, but don't really absorb what it is you're buying.
It's kinda sad to me tho. Like kids are feeling the need to dress more mature and act more mature at such a younger age. It kinda feels like their childhood is getting minimized, and they're worrying more about what they're wearing, how people are perceiving them, worrying about more mature subjects when they should be worried about kid things, enjoying life as a kid.
I just commented the same thing. Like sure these clothes are cute to us but kids are missing out on what makes them kids. And they’ll worry about trends and popularity at a much earlier age than we did.
True but social media has kinda brain washed a lot of kids into thinking it was their choice to start dressing more mature I don't like unicorn sparkle clothes anymore and i will never start to like that stuff again now im more interested in a lot of popular fashion aesthetics
Honestly art class was so great for my last year or so of the kids section! At that point I really didn't like all the printed leggings and sparkles anymore and was so glad that i found something that I felt pretty in!
i’m happy that people are acknowledging that kids don’t just wear unicorns and rainbows. but of course this cute stuff comes when i don’t shop in the kids section anymore. i’ll probably still get those cute purple jeans though

I would kill to wear those as an adult without getting funky stares or comments from family lol (P.S. Don’t actually kill over shirts)

As someone who's literally 5ft and 7 stone this has been the only thing saving me in my late 20s XD
Same here at 4’11
All my work shirts for my suits came from the boys section, size 14-16 or size 16 depending on the brand. I can’t even fit in an 18. 😂 The guys at work hated me when i told them how cheap it was.
Aww this makes me feel so much better knowing im not the only tiny person wearing kids clothes.
I always feel so embarrassed shopping at the kids section. Thanks for not making me feel so alone
Try Boscov's juniors section!
I miss when target was filled with the shirts that had the colour changing sequins 😭😭😭
i feel like im part of the last generation where parents dressed their kids super dorky, i see kids nowadays and theyre all stylish and have cool haircuts and stuff. boys esp when i was young almost every boy either had some kind of plain and managable short haircut or a semi-bowlcut situation and now all the little boys i see look like tiktok stars.
Kids are not baby’s. They are mature enough for these clothes. And if you like unicorns so much, you can wear them, but don’t force kids to wear them.
@@niki4079 lmao

@Saniyah Addu Mfer, it isn’t that easy
@Saniyah Addu I’m not complaining, it’s just shitty that if you’re at a current spot in your weight and you can’t find clothes. People should still be able to have fashionable clothes.
@Saniyah Addu People feel very insecure about their weight(Like me) it's not just about losing weight it's about eating healthy N looking after yourself ... it's hard
my entire 6yo personality: Those dresses that have that mesh frill bottom part, unicorn, sparkles, EVERYTHING COLOURFUL

Ladies 7.5, and definitely on occasion snag a kids 5.5! Thank you Payless shoe employee who told me that trick all those years ago!
I spent half of my teenage years wearing black hoodies, this is my recovery.
the kids section at target where i was would literally be filled with jojo siwa stuff and now its charli damelio 😳
BRO SO TRUE
THE JOJO BOWS OMFG
YEAH
Art class is one of my favorite clothing brands. It’s so cute and pretty affordable
For all those ppl talking bout the “stay kind” glitter unicorn shirts, they still have that, this is just the JUNIORS section not the KIDS
The “girl power!” Shirts were everything😭
Nah same here, there shouldn't be anything weird about buying kids clothes for yourself if you fit into them.
Buy what you like! Cashiers seriously don't even think about what they are ringing up (used to be one) they see sooo many products and sooo many people they really just ring stuff without thinking. Sure we try to be friendly, but don't really absorb what it is you're buying.
Ok but those butterfly pants are so fucking adorable I hope they have them at my local target cause I love butterflies to death 💀💀
And they’re half the price of literally exact same ones at PacSun
Target rn:
Let's make the kids slayyyy 💅🏼💅🏼💅🏼
I miss the glitter unicorn shirts, the justice shirts, along with those graphic tees and pun shirts where it would have a punch line on the shirt
20 year old me still wearing kids clothes bc they fit better
I remember the “ First day of 1st grade” and “be kind” shirts so distinctly
Honestly art class was so great for my last year or so of the kids section! At that point I really didn't like all the printed leggings and sparkles anymore and was so glad that i found something that I felt pretty in!
i’m happy that people are acknowledging that kids don’t just wear unicorns and rainbows. but of course this cute stuff comes when i don’t shop in the kids section anymore. i’ll probably still get those cute purple jeans though
You should've seen the kids section at Kmart. It's like Bratz in real life.
YESS EXACTLY LIKE 70% OF THE COMMENT SECTION IS “ r-remember when we wore pink glittery unicorn shirts..? T-this generation is so fucked.. 🥺🥺 “ LIKE NOT EVERY KID IS GONNA WANNA WEAR THE SAME SHI YOU WORE WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER

Nahh the clothings that had cute childish designs and sparkle wher the ones that actually went hard af I still remember wearing those
I think it works cause they never had stuff for the tweens and know they do which makes it easier for the kids to express their style!
there’s a junior section go shop there the kids section literally just started looking good and better than just unicorns and “Cute quotes”😊

I remember having LPS shirts; “I’ve been good Buy me a pony” with a lps pony on it and it was brown and pink and tan colored :,( Kids now are super gucci like little adults lmao
Remember the Rainbows, unicorns, mermaids, and sunshine shirts saying, "be kind" "girl power!" "girls run the world" and the infamous, "your amazing!"
The little girls target section is awesome! Honestly, the juniors have some super cute too things too!
I showed this to my mom and she brought me to target!
I miss the 2020 I used to wear unicorn shirts and I’m 9 but I wear stuff that is trending but I have a older sister so she shows me everthing that’s trendy and I had TikTok but not anymore
i would be stabbed in my heart if were to wear those. i used to have half my shirts said “yolo”,”be kind”,”kindness is cool” 😭😭🤚🤚
I’ve been saying this to my sister forever! I’m glad other people think the same 😂
Not me telling myself I can fit into a size 12 🥲🤣
I’m so happy I’m at that age/size where I can shop at the kids and women’s section!😊
Who remembers the old target kids section ngl 5 year old me loved those shirts
How hilarious is that even the kid’s section has waaay more variety than the men’s section (idk if it’s the same in the US but here in Mexico you can only chose between the same design but with other colors)😭😭
I got the cutest floral dress from there and I love it so much
When i have a kid, i NEED them to wear "be kind" and SKETCHERS and TYE DYE SHIRTS
people should not be making fun of what people wear. I go to kmart sometimes (only Australians know kmart) and it has a section with sparkling clothes for younger kids but for older kids they have plain clothes for older kids that don’t want to wear pink unicorn shirts. i wear nothing these days because i’m scared people will judge me for what i’m wearing
When I was little I was wearing stuff from Kohl’s.
