You don't pull up the top if the windscreen trim, that's how you snap the White clip. The top of the trim has a opening in the rail. What you do is slide the trim about 10mm and the opening will allow you to lift the top of the trim off the clip then slide the rest of the trim along the other clips. Like you say though it will be stiff to start off due to being on for 30 odd years. Also note that the drivers side and passenger side slide in different directions to free the top of the trim from the clip as the clips are reversed. The small bits of trim behind the t tops you slide them and them will clip off the white clips, again each side is opposite direction. However like you say the white clips are brittle so could still break so worth getting spares ready. Don't try to take the trim off the t tops. That's a whole different ball game, they are screwed on from underneath and you have to dismantle the whole t top to get to the screws! I recently painted my car and found out the hard way lol.
Hey bro, I am pulling my NA engine for a TT swap. If you’re coming down to VA anytime soon hmu. Idk if you ever found your build donor or not but I got a decent running NA for you
@@ZBruhzchannel nice! I wonder if they would just replace mine and re do all the seals. Don’t care if it’s oem or not. They’re getting pretty old brittle.
@Aaron Graybeal so, they will have the glass and will do the seals but they don't carry the oem seals anymore so I said go with something as close as oem. I was under the impression they would get the oem seals but knowing now that they dont.... I'd order them from czp or z1 before sending the car to them and just give them the seal to put it in when you drop the car off
@@ZBruhzchannel ahhh ok. All I find is the top molding but better than nothing. As long as it looks decent, works and keeps it sealed ehh I’m ok with it. I did replace all the molding around the car with the 10 piece karuma kit from czp last summer. Hopefully the 2 windshield pieces will stay in tact.
Also you can probably spray a bit of wd40 at the top underside of the rail and let it run down and soak the clips. Should make it a lot easier to release from the clips without breaking

You technically show the opening when you install the new trims.
Czp is the best. I order 90% of my stuff from them. Nice video.
Thank you for the much needed video! What glass brand did Safelite carry and install on your Z?
I needed this, mine are all faded and need refreshments.
It was scary for sure and I have put this off for years but now feel way better! Enjoy it 🤙
@@ZBruhzchannel Any idea if the general process is the same for the JDM slicktop models?
@Ghost Smoke this I do not know, I'd believe it's similar setup. Try to find the robo page idk if he talks about that or not
Thanks for this vid. I been putting it off for months now and the glass show said I have to come up with my own trim

Where do you buy the trim from?
@@Je_luna z1 or concept z
@@ZBruhzchannel sorry I asked before the video was over 😅

💯👍💪🙏
I find that czp is cheaper than z1 almost 80% of the time
