when you are heating the pieces together. do you hammer them together as in bladesmithing? do you have to have a mill? did you put solder in between the pieces?
Я делаю немного по другому. Сваренные пластины осаживаю в круглой матрице, получаю цилиндр. Затем выдавливаю на прессе из него стакан. Стенки его разворачиваю, получается как древесина.
I would like to try too, but I don’t know if the platinum can weld with gold because the melting temperature is very different, 960 degrees for gold and 1760 for platinum.. I would like to try with white gold but I don’t know if it can works. Anyway I’m so interested in.
Thank you I'm glad you liked it I have not done platinum and gold yet. But soon I will make a ring and make a film of gold 14 ct , pink 14 ct gold, and silver
Loved the work! Quick question, does copper stains or goes black when you use it? I really want to try this technique, but I don't have the courage to do it with gold yet.
Hi Yes, the copper will turn black when worn. you want to do it gold is best try a few times copper and silver so you will gain some experience. it would be great if you put a movie on youtub, maybe I will learn something. With gold, it is very important that surfaces are very well degreased. I wish you good luck wedding rings
I thought so. What i think would be the best solution is doing 2 rings, a regular silver and a mokume gane. The silver one being the size you need and the other just enough to go on the outside. Then solder both rings together and voila. You have a mokume gane look on the outside but on the inside there's silver, so it won't stain your fingers.

Loving the craftsmanship! Great result :D
Good choice of background music
I have tried but when I try to twist it, the layers brakes..
There is nothing to add between the layers?
Maravilloso trabajo ! gracias por compartir
Hola
Me alegro mucho que les haya gustado Saludos
Hi Onyxiz, great job man, my question: What kind of gas flame / torch do you use, mine has too cold flame, couldnt fireforge the metals.

Hello
I do Mokume gane without solder.
Did you use boraх for welding and had you contract the multilayer package one time or repeated the procedure several times?
Hello
I did not use Borax or other accessories. Regards :)
Brilliant work my friend.
Thank you

Would kill for some of this for a knife handle
What is the dimension of the plates (including thicknesses)? Thanks for a great video. Looking forward to trying it
Hello
I was making a 0.4 mm thick flat bar
6 mm wide
you need to heat strongly with a burner
I hope you will make it :)

I made one out of silver and copper for my brother. It turned out way better than I expected but the copper makes his finger green unfortunately lol

I would love to do it with gold, but I'm just starting to practice jewelry more as a hobby than as a job and it would be too expensive just to try it.
hi
yes, the copper during the apparition turns black
best to do it all in gold or platinum
What solution did you use to bring out the patina?
What is the last piece of music called?
Was that silver solder you used?
What is the green thing you wash Copper and Sliver ?
Hi a hand cleaner
very good job !
Ernesto Patatos very nice
Thank you
Excellent work.
Thank you
Thank you
Saludos cómo se llaman los metales que estás utilizando
¡hola
En la película utilicé plata y cobre.
When you start what dimensions does your strips have? Really nice video and end result. Want to try it myself :)
Koen Sterckx what did you use for the joining. Solder or silver?
Hello
Mokume gane does not use solder but welds the degreased strips
I had 0.4 mm thick strips
6 mm wide
I hope you will make it :)
Gracias!!!!😍😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you
Great video! I was wondering if you have ever made one with platinum and gold. If so is the technique is any different?
Thank you
I'm glad you liked it

Thank you
Похож на нашего еврея,английский явно ему не родной))
@Игорь Кузнецов 😃😃
I like your video, your audio sucks. What kind of nut case has to turn the voice down then blow a persons ears out with crappy music??????
