Warcraft III: Reforged Matchmaker Suggestions

Hey folks! Today's video offers suggestions for Warcraft III: Reforged's ladder matchmaker.

-- I decided not to include any discussion of enabling third-party matchmaking services akin to CS:GO's FaceIt and ESEA. While I think this open approach to matchmaking is win-win, it's just not how Blizzard prefers to do things (in my experience, at least). As a result, I didn't want to spend any time on it.

Have you ever played Wc3 ladder? This video contains no reference to the existing system and ie more a critique of the sc2 ladder. This video could easily be called 'how I would improve the sc2 ladder system'

Blizzard is just going to port over SC2's rating system to WCIII and leave it at that. There will be no differences other than superficial.

honestly i could live with that. It's the best rating system i have seen yet, in a competitive game.

I'm not a big fan of video-essay exposition on UA-cam. Seems like a lot of creators favour being long-winded with jump cut cadence and forming punchy arguments with weak critical thought. Not this channel though. This was a brilliant video, as was the Deepmind AI video too. Please keep up the brilliant work, because it really is brilliant.

hey brownbear what do you think about integrating BoX into matchmaking. In sc2 one could integrate that into the tournment system. I feel like a great deal of depth is lost if no series can be played in a ladder like manner. I only played some BoX in small online tournments, and they always are way more fun cuz you can adapt to ur opponent over time.

Smurfing is cool and it is an integral part of wc3. Nothing more fun than bashing some noobs on your smurf account after some hard games on your main.
