I’m glad it inspired you to give these a try I recently also shared. I think a really great practice with water control and washes. You might enjoy I like making warm-ups practices and drills fun so we’re inspired to practice them happy painting friend.

You're welcome! It is my pleasure. I hope I can continue to share fun tips for you that have helped me over the years. Happy painting and thank you for being here with me :-)
So happy you stopped by Charline, I am happy to share and love working with those that are learning; good for you to step into the world of watercolors; it isn't the "easiest" medium, but I promise you it is so worth it. There is no other medium so beautiful and magical. I hope I can continue to inspire you! Happy painting and Welcome Charline
Good morning Penny, My pleasure. IM so very happy I am able to share some value for you in your painting journey. I do my best to look for and remember small things that helped me so much on my watercolor journey over the years. Happy painting friend!
Glad it was helpful! Once you practice this over and over and begin to feel more comfortable with water control, you will be so much happier with your paintings. I still practice this a lot. I hope I can continue to inspire and bring you valuable tips and techniques that helped me over the decades. Happy painting!
My pleasure Mouna~ Thank you for being here with me and Happy painting! (I didnt even know what this Super Thanks was.. Very kind of you and I will use towards more paper!)
Thank you for all these tips and the one paper (two actually) just use for color testing is Canson & sadly got that Baohong paper & it’s not good and no color will lift! Might try the Artistro as love my Arches but save it for special paintings! See I need to do more practice and must write down color mixes (as a beginner easy to forget).
You are so welcome! Interesting thank yo ufor sharing that. I have tried SO MANY student grade papers, and by far the Artisto has been the best for me~ the texture is fantastic and it responds so well to pigments, lifting, blending. I also save my Arches for commissions, and gifts :-) Happy painting friend thank you for the information on that Baohong (Canson is decent but Artisto is fantastic I feel, and im not affiliated with them I just love it, I wish I was lol)
Excellent tutorial. Just a word of advice--when you hold up the paper towards the camera there is a bit of glare. It might be better to not hold up the paper because that might reduce the glare.
Thankyou, I gl'mad you enjoyed it. Yes, I see that often, until I get better at my camera skills, I may have to forgo those closeups! Happy painting friend~
@@DebbieWalkerArtmadeeasy No the close-ups are good and helpful! It's just the slanting of the paper that is causing a bit of glare. I like the close-ups!
@@simfimpim I have this brand new wonderful light I invested in, and I’ve been trying to get used to it. It creates quite a glare. I think I may have to look for some type of filter to put over it. We’ll see, I’m learning every day in my seven months here thanks for being here with me and happy painting friend.🎨🌸🖌️
Hi Nails by Leeann, To be honest, I Do not see where they claim 100% cotton for the Artisto pads I use daily. they are amzn.to/3UfKBMQ. I buy in packs of three. Although another pad I do use that I know is 100% cotton is this Winsor Newton pad which is amazing to paint on. amzn.to/3KGX8pl My feeling is Artisto is as well, but I can't claim that. The 100% papers such as Winsor Newton are of impeccable quality, great for the long-term durability of a fine art piece. They absorb well, and I Love the effects. I feel many of the 140# cold pressed papers do quite a fine job for me unless I'm creating a painting for a commission or something I will be selling and want to last and have that beautiful heavy-weight feeling and a little more absorbency in my opinion. Also, I noticed 100% cotton tends to be able to accept a lot of pigment and water without warping. Thank you for your question; I hope I was helpful Happy painting! Fun fact- 100% cotton paper is 100% cotton fibers mixed with water, and Student quality is mixed with cellulose. Play with them both and see which you prefer.
Yes this velvet touch is long round referring to brush. Fun fact- Princeton brushes series ending in 50; 3950, 4050 are their short handles. Princeton series ending in “00” are the longer handles meant for easel work. Thanks Carrie~
Hi Sunny, the 10 and 8 are the same in how they paint, I use an 8 because of the size of the paper and area I am covering is smaller. If you are using 9X12 sheets of paper a 10 would be great as well. For landscapes, a larger brush is probably better because you can cover more area, sky, ground etc where you are painting washes. The velvet touch is really just the handle feels very nice, almost velvety, the Neptune round, which is just a tiny bit less is just fine, and perfect for florals and landscapes. I have links in my description for the Neptune, which I also use a lot. Both Neptune round #8 and velvet touch #8 are my favorite brushes from Princeton. Happy painting
@@DebbieWalkerArtmadeeasy I thought of buying 10 initially because on some days I want to paint on larger paper and other days paint on smaller paper but I can't afford to buy both at the same time😬
@@sunnyjoy229 Definately for landscapes, I would choose the 10 only because you are covering a large area, and you will still be able to get those fine details as with an 8. Heres a link for the 10, I have a 10 as well for some reason (habit I'm sure) I always grab my 8! Def a 10 for larger areas though Happy painting, I would love to see what you create! I am hoping to paint a field of flowers this weekend fro you all. 10 round Princeton amzn.to/3ZR3oPQ
