was one of a last generation at the age of 6 on the Kop singing Oooh Aaah Cantona! Say Oooh Aaah Cantona, then 3-4 months later it was Fuck Off Cantona! I Say Fuck Of Cantona! felt sick... but Leeds through and through... even though it was a mistake...
Wilko couldn't evolve the football the team played. If he'd have been able to do that and utilise Cantona, Leeds could of had the success man utd have had. But in typical Leeds fashion - we blew it.
I remember on the opening day of the league season Alan Hansen on Match of the day said his tip for the 4 contenders for the title “Leeds Liverpool Manchester United and Arsenal” How times have changed
Leeds won the league ahead of schedule after a decade of being in division 2 they did not mentally adapt to suddenly being no 1 again instead of rebuilding again for another title Wilkinson got complacent and that 17th place just put Leeds back 2 seasons. Then the Mancs win the first premier league and monopolise it for the next 2 decades I believe if Man United won it in 1992 and Leeds in 1993 Leeds would of had the money and momentum to buy success and the team man United had would of broken up … But instead the board persisted with Wilkinson for 3 more years and then when Risdale comes in and spends all that money that they never had to catch up with Man United and Arsenal. If Wilkinson had reassembled a better team after winning in 1992 they wouldn’t have needed to over invest to compete as they say Success buys Success ..
think Carl shut needs to brush up on his history saying - 'its the first time Leeds have been in the european cup...' shockingly wrong Carl.... infact we even made the final in 75'.
Wilko should have just said to Cantona " Do what you want Eric , play where you want Eric " We should have moulded the team round him , but no , we sell him to our arch rivals and he turns out to b the catalyst for there first league title in 26 years . Some times Wilko was on another planet and Fotherby was a dick head as well .
Team went into decline the moment the title was won in 92....Cantona saw this and also saw Man U had a great side in the making so he went there and won 4 Premier League titles, 2 Fa Cups and achieved legendary status at the great Manchester United.

Pass back rule affected Lukic and the defence. Chris Whyte and Chris Fairclough struggled too. We didn’t even win an away game that season. I think Mark Beeney made his debut v Coventry. A hat trick from Rod Wallace in that game.
Well, here in Denmark. Herfølge, a small club 30-40 km south of Copenhagen won the championship in 1999/2000 with John Faxe Jensen only to find themselves in divison 1 the following season
This was my first Leeds VHS - used to watch on repeat when I was about 7. Simpler times.
Great player rocastle shame it didn't work out for him at Leeds taken from us far too early. RIP.

Again if a season like this happened in this day & age, Wilkinson would have been sacked by November. How times have changed.
I wonder what would have happened to Leeds if he was sacked
The commentator shows a lot of enthusiasm doesn't he!!!!

Leeds were robbed in that final,
Should’ve been in that champions league we battered rangers home and away but fair play they scored two great goals at elland road
Got to love em even though it's a roller-coaster ride following them.
Tottenham avoiding relegation at the end of the season is a big surprise. Ridiculous performance in 5-0 loss, not a single goal occasion😂
Leeds united🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤

Imagine if they finished even in the top 4. They could have been a super team today…

i went to 13 away games that season....not one away win all season?! still, better than the crap on display today.
john lukic had a nightmare that year

Did you notice at 7.20 Cantona ignored chapmans hand shake
To be fair to Cantona he was probably embarrassed to accept a handshake considering they were getting a right twatting at the time.
Leeds belong back in the premiership
Selling cantona to man u was like newcastle selling Andy cole.. just pure stupid.
This has to be the worst title defense ever surely?
@Mark Sesum fair enough sir
@Mark Sesum LOL , funny if it's not your club though.
