A masterclass in committing to the bit with a straight face the whole time. Too funny!
Hes the real deal.
I was laughing so hard😂 you are brilliant, gardener Scott!!! Thank you for being such an inspiring teacher for so many years. Sending you so much love ❤
😂😂😂😂the art with this one is never breaking character
He even prepped for this video weeks ago on a cold snowy day to capture the mini-marshmallow buds. Amazing.
The deadpan is phenomenal. Totally believable. Excellent video. Bravo!
My Mom grew up in Denver, and I still remember her telling me how her Daddy loved his marshmallow bushes. Thanks for bringing back that memory. Stay Well!!!
😅
It's the gathering in the Easter bunny basket that got me!😂
Thanks for this helpful marshmallow knowledge! Nobody else discusses this, they just gatekeep and hoard all the knowledge for themselves!
Your April Fool's Day videos never get old. Thanks for the smile today.
LOL Scott. I love you.
Do marshmallows grow better if you mulch them with Lucky Charms?
I'm pretty sure Lucky Charms have the perfect NPK for marshmallow bushes. Of course the downside is they aren't organic. I'd give it a shot though.
😂😂😂❤
😂😂😂😂😂
Loving the Easter basket
Love the disclaimer at the end. I can just imagine people going to their local nursery and asking for marshmallow bushes 😂
But don’t forget, the bushes are difficult to find. You should ask for a cutting 😊
Lol, I just said the same thing-too funny!
If I get any customers at the nursery asking for a marshmallow plant, I’m blaming you Scott! 🤣
It would interesting to see you develop a hybrid marshmallow variety through cross breeding. I bet you could make the little ones taste even better.
Like a marshmallow × banana=peep?😂❤
Oh that would be a great variety! ❤
This was very educational. Some of these tips I will be using for my first CORVETTE that I am growing in my back yard. I am hoping to harvest it in 2030.
Bravo! My 11 year old bought it, hook line and sinker. My 9 year old, however, got the joke right away.
You got me on this one. Today is my birthday I’m turning 70 and our 50th wedding anniversary is on April 12th. Great looking mallows!
Well happy birthday to you and happy anniversary 🎉
Happy birthday! I did the 70 thing a couple of years ago.
I have wondered about this for decades. As usual you gave numerous details for proper care. I always suspected an inner goofball within you. Thank you for sharing.😂
Wow!!! Congrats on all fronts!!🎉🎉🎉
Happy birthday 🎉🎂
This is THE Best April fool's joke I've ever seen! My daughter is a newbie gardener and plans to grow Marshmallow in her garden this year along with other herbs. You know I had to share this with her.
I never get mine to come up like this. A gardener extraordinaire! *chefs kiss *
The wealth of knowlege jampacked in 8 minutes! Thank you😂❤
I once grew a macaroni tree. Much better than store bought. Ray Delbury Sussex County NJ USA
I just planted two dozen eggs to grow my own flock of chickens.
I just get the transplants from AG store down the road .
They don't seem to be doing well and I cannot figure out if I'm planting em too shallow or too deep 🤔
I could not stop smiling. Thanks for that. Have a great day.
I was waiting for him to fertilize the bush with sugar!
Hehehehe........ And a Happy April Fools' Day to you! Now I'm going to get my granddaughters with this!
Absolutely stellar! This is the best marshmallow gardening video, top-notch comprehensive information, as we've come to expect from Gardener Scot. 🤩💚
This is why I stay on your channel...
I LIVE for April 1st! You did not disappoint! Love the wee basket and the winter shots. Thats some dedication! ❤😂😊
I'm in Zone 99b Scott and are often too late here in London. If i remember and are ready, i put out my 1000 gram shade cloth when they are about ready. I have a lot a rabbit problems in London and often find i don't have many left when it comes to harvesting times. Thank you so much for reminding me to do a stake out. I recommend that frog suit from the amazson. Those guys won't see you with those red and and white stripes!
This calls into question all of the “good” advice you have given all gardeners around the world! Haha!!! Great job! Agree with everyone on your mastery of presentation.😂😂😂
Lol carefully Gardener Scott lol there are those of us who are gullablelol. You may have people asking where to buy a marshmallow bush😮😂 like when a news channel said showed a ping pong ball tree in Florida. Lol tons of people called to find out where they could buy this tree lol. You have such a straight face I love it, just what I need with all the stress of life in these times❤❤❤❤❤❤
Just found your channel looking to building a bottle border... And now you're growing marshmallows. Renaissance man.
I love the horticultural tips with this one - and the perfect purple marshmallow basket! Brilliant!
Nothing like a freshly picked marshmallow warm from the aftersun
OMG!! I woke to this first thing in the morning - Hilarious!!
This is amazing 😂 well done Scott
I would love to see you go on a trip to the South Pole and shoot an episode on the ice cream bushes there.
It's amazing to me how through their cross-breeding the ice cream gardeners keep on producing new varieties.
This video was a "treat"
I have a hot cocoa plant in my garden. They grow amazingly well here in Wyoming because we too have a rollercoaster of weather but we also have dry, alkaline soil which is perfect for newly developing hot cocoa buds. Come next fall those beautiful spring buds will turn into pods of hot chocolate just ready for the picking as the temperatures again start to go up and down erratically. Thanks for sharing this video…I am definitely going to see about adding a marshmallow bush to my yard. It’s sure to be a hit with the dog and the grandkids, too!🃏
Lol, nice one. I was outside earlier wondering if my marsh mallow was going to come back this spring.
.mine has, I am in zone 9b
😂😂😂 Two minutes of wondering "Is this for real? I know there's a marshmallow plant..." Then it dawned on me 😂😂😂 Good one!
As a side note, you have an easy way to have a marshmallow roast. Cheers, Scott!
Haha I remember back in the 60s a TV anchor did a spot on a pickle tree on April Fool's Day!
I stared at the thumbnail for half a minute like 😮 before going RIGHT APRIL 1 okay! 😂
HAHAHAHAHA I love this!!!! Thank you for this early morning laughter!
You're a legend.
I laughed out loud when I realized you were harvesting them into an Easter basket! Hilarious!
❤❤ love the video Gardener Scott. Im not a big fan of marshmallows, but I do have about a dozen plants I started from seed.
Next year...a video on raising free-range peeps 😉
Look forward to these video's every April 1st! Well done.
I'd always assumed the marshmallow was a fruit, so learned a lot here. Loved this video and look forward to seeing your approach to storing these enlarged buds next.
Happy fools day!
The real funny thing is I'm actually growing the Marshmallow plant this year. Well at least trying too. 😊 This was cute. Have a Happy Spring! 🐣
Me too! Ive got about a dozen lovely wee plants
I'm starting mine tomorrow. I've got the toothache plant and Indian peace pipe sprouting at the moment. 😁
Same! Lol
😍 gotta get myself one of these. Don't think I've seen a marshmallow bush in my local garden centre so it might involve a trip to a specialist nursery. Hope the UK climate is warm enough 🤞😅😆
Aw, man! I'm going back to the old movie!
Cute. Also, as someone who actually grows marshmallow, this was especially clever.
As we live in Nebraska, I'm excited to know that we too, have the optimum climate to grow these. I'll be sure to ask the next time I'm at the local nursery. ;)
Sounds like Oklahoma has the perfect weather for growing marshmallows 😂
You have the best April fools day videos!!! That’s hysterical, and all with a straight face. Lol
My husband and I rolled on this one LOL. I wish my grandkids had been here to see this
LOL! 😀😀😀😀
I grow my marshmallows from seed. They have done well where I live. My climate is a lot like Gardener Scott's.
Happy April Fool’s Day
Nice sharing Scott. Maybe next April 1st you can show us toffee apples? I hope everything is going well for you and your contributions to our society and abroad have been quite exceptional. You are a beautiful man Scott. Best wishes Jason from Melbourne Australia.
Marshmallows have been around for millenia. One example can be seen from the Roman poet Horace who referred to his own diet in his Odes, which he describes as very simple: "As for me, olives, endives, and smooth [marsh]mallows provide sustenance." Thanks Gardner Scott for bringing more attention to this "special" plant!
Haha, Happy , Thank you gardener Scott, I will try to grow Peeps shrub this season, lol. I ll see you on the live stream in a bit. Cheers
Again, another GREAT April fool's video. Thanks for the chuckles.
Ruth Stout method for marshmallows. Bumper crop last year
I think your April 1 videos are always the most informative!
Yes, Gardener Scott, but if you aren’t growing a Graham cracker bush, your marshmallows won’t be the same. 😂
That’s awesome! What a great way to start a Monday morning but it does make me wonder how much I should trust your other gardening advice. 😂
🤣🤣Run if you see white coats Scott!!😂😂😂
Good one!
You even filmed the tiny marshmallows growing in winter....I love your april 1st video's.
You are too funny. If I wasn’t sort of bright I would have believed you whole hardly!!!!
😂 thank you for making me smile, lisa
My grandmother had a marshmallow farm in southern Wisconsin. I spent a lot of time there as a kid. Great memories! 😉
The EFFORT! Oh thanks for the smiles! :D
Ha! Ha! Happy April Fools Day. Cheers, Scott! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
When I seen the thumbnail I thought this was an April fools joke...lol never knew
Thank you for this video. I'm still smiling. Loved your delivery of an authentic gardening tips and informational video. I shared it on Facebook for my friends to enjoy. Thanks again!
So earnestly funny!! I grew up in Colorado Springs and were i more gullible, i would have believed your April fools, based on fluctuating weather!😂
So Awesome! I laughed and giggled the entire video. I about spit my lunch out when you said to ask at the nursery for marshmallow cuttings.
One winter I saw potato vines growing though a crack from underneath the storage spot under the house. Potatoes had formed under there on TOP of the soil. So I tried planting sweet potatoes and covered the planting area with plywood propped up on bricks and let the vines grow out the sides and put straw and leaves around the edge to block light and hold in moisture. Huge clean sweet potatoes formed on top of the ground beneath it. Cardboard/boxes should work to do this with either type if it can be supported and kept lifted above the soil. But even lifting it may not be needed for success. I`m gonna experiment with this since my soil is shallow and terrible and also try to figure out a way to grow them this way with a water/nutrients solution. Some people will actually BELIEVE you can grow marshmallows. Ha!
Happy April Fool’s Day!
I always love the attentention to detail in your videos.
Omg Scott, you're good .. The more details your telling us about your Marshmallow tree, the bigger my smile was getting
🤔🤭☺️😊
I don't know how you did that. You described your Marshmallow Tree , with a straight face ,without smiling once..
Know way I could of done that without losing it 😂😅😂😂😂
👏🙌👏🙌🫶
You’re always the best Gardener Scott! 😂
There is more truth in the video than one would think. There really is a Marshmallow plant and the sap was used to make the Marshmallow candy (not any longer though). Apparently it also has some medicinal properties. And you can buy the plants though likely most nurseries would have to special order it. Loved the video. :)
Scott could you provide us with some tips in a future video on how to get great yields from our s’moreberry bushes?
My kids would LOVE a marshmallow bush. Can’t wait to ask at my local nursery “Sir, do you have any marshmallow bush cuttings for sale?” 😂 Probably won’t since we live in Florida, but maybe grandma and grandpa in Wisconsin can get ahold of one. 😉 Thanks for making my day. ❤
I love these! So serious without skipping a beat 🤣
Sheer Genius for April first.
My husband and I loved it. It was a great end to our day. Thanks. I don't know how you kept a straight face for this.
You've convinced me-- I'm going to start growing my own marshmallows from now on. Thank you for the informative video!
Thanks so much Scott for reminding me today is harvest day for Marshmallows!! Hoping for a bumper crop this year. Just a reminder that you can vacuum seal them to keep them “off the bush” fresh for those summer campfires! 😁
No one does April 1 videos quite as well as Gardener Scott!
Lol enjoyed your April Fool's joke!
I've been looking forward to this day for quite a while. You are the greatest, Mr. Scott! I hope you didn't get a tummy ache.
Mine always seem to ripen during the evening of March 31. Quirk of nature, I guess. I've had some luck grafting the marshmallow to a graham tree. Resulting fruit has a crumbly skin adding a nice texture and flavor. Cheers!
Good one Gardener Scott! 😂
Awesome, love this for April 1st.
I crossed a peanut 🥜 with my marshmallow bush and now I have a hybrid variety I call circus peanuts
Ok, I missed this yesterday. Thanks so much for the belly laugh. 😂
😂 that is hysterical I haven’t laughed so much in ages😂😂
marshmallow wine and cookies are my favorite snack😋
I always love your April fools videos🤣
