  • Mega-bestselling author Margaret Atwood returns to Town Hall after a sold-out 2009 appearance with the long-awaited conclusion to her internationally celebrated dystopian trilogy. Bringing together characters from Oryx and Crake and The Year of the Flood, the thrilling (and palindromic!) MaddAddam confirms the ultimate endurance of humanity, community, and love. Set months after the Waterless Flood pandemic has wiped out most of humanity, MaddAddam combines adventure, humor, romance, superb storytelling, and an imagination that is at once inventive and grounded in a recognizable world-in other words, vintage Margaret Atwood.

I love when Margaret Atwood cracks herself up. She is the best!

This woman's humor and cleverness cannot be overstated. Her wit and ability to seize our attention for benevolent purposes is astounding. I read the second and third book in this trilogy and it's pretty ambitious to analyze where our trends can lead us. I spoke with a client on the phone in Alaska who traversed some of the same circles as Atwood in Toronto in years past and apparently she was extremely sincere and informed about animals, and I can believe that from these books. -'tarotworldtour'

Love her. Authentic. She is so engaging, humorous…and firm. Straight shooter.

She has opened a whole new world for me and others. I am now reading "Alias Grace", and the research is challenging at best. The number of themes and history is layered, complicated, and astounding.

A great sense of humour. Extremely articulate. Extraordinary storyteller. Renaissance woman. Intellectual. Amazing memory. Genuine genius. Model human being.

So crazy how her speculative fiction is currently mirroring real life issues we are facing today - a human made virus, an intentional reduction of the human species, totalitarian controls in place, and an attempt to genetically modify the human species regardless of the long term consequences or lack of fully informed consent- she's a genius and what would have previously been dubbed a prophet.

Our Lady of Informed Consent. Having read her before the events that you described, imbued me a certain suspicious morbid curiosity that was much more fun and sensible than the fear that motivated the folks who gave consent.
