Okay so I know I said that the “Attack on the House” sequence was next, but Fox blocked the heck out of it, so it’s in copyright dispute purgatory right now, and you’ll see it if and when the claim is lifted. In the meantime, here’s an analysis of the ending sequence.
Also sorry about the giant “REDACTED” text in the intermediate clips between cues, but Fox wasn’t very lenient with me for this video either…
Thanks for going through all the hassle nonetheless and giving us such great material!
They tried to take down my 'setting the trap' video! :/
Have you ever considered doing analyses on scores by living composers which aren't necessarily film scores?
It's a 20+ years old film that is being broadcast worldwide (certainly here in Europe) every single year, and everybody and their mothers have seen it at least a dozen times. I have no idea what Fox hopes to accomplish here by harassing productive people like yourself and hinder publication of educational content. I guess they just enjoy being assholes.
One of the best scores of all time! Great stuff man! Keep it going. I just started a month ago on UA-cam. I analyze/commentate on videos and add my own twist to them. 😁
4:32 to the end is a ridiculously incredible ending. John Williams wrote such a warm tribute to the "evil" neighbor, and really humanized the man who saved him from evil.
Thanks for your analyses, beautiful work indeed.
What puzzles me is that some portions of the film/music get aggressively blocked, whilst others slip through with impunity. UA-cam obviously has one very flawed and unreliable algorithm to detect copyright-claimable content.
Thank you so much ! You are the channel I've always searched for :)
I started tearing up at 4:47, not going to lie.
Great analysis as always!
I love John Williams' music and Home Alone is one of my favourites his soundtracks rigth after Star Wars. But I listen to it only at the Christmas time.
Me writing music: "I can't use the same theme again, I just used it a few seconds ago"
John Williams: "Somehwere in my memory every ten seconds!"
Just subscribed, love your channel! I hope you will do some Hook music analysis someday!
Wonderful reduction, I love this film score. Its such a shame they blocked it I hope it gets lifted!
Not to ask for more John Williams... but what about Hook?
And Across the stars too!!!
Where did you get the original score?
incredible
You should do Spider-Man (2002)
Hey, do you have pdf file of these sheets?
Can you do Hans Zimmer The gladiator?
While the score isn’t particularly harmonically difficult, could you do some from ‘The Patriot?’
Hi
this is not really an analysis of the score, isn't it? "here we have a modulation", "here the theme is repeated again", "here is the bass line" are mainly observations but, imo, you should also mention the motivation, intention and the effect when using the corresponding stylistic devices, right?
REDACTED
Fox wants to know your location.
