I see zero downside to signing D12 to a 10 day. He can still be a solid backup in a limited roll and it gives the FO more time to work a deal if one becomes available. It costs the team nothing and if it doesn't work out he can just disappear.

We've got solid NBA rotation players (or better): AD, Rui, LeBron, AR, Cam, D-Lo, A solid rookie who looks promising (but isn't consistent yet) in Dalton Knecht, ...and then what? G-League players (Max Lewis, Bronny James, JHS, Armel Traore) Perpetually injured (Vando, Christian Wood) Offering little to nothing (Max Christie (my biggest disapointment, but I still have hope) and Gabe Vincent (I've never seen so many 0s in a 20-minute stat line) We need to do a few things: 1) Give Quincy Olivari some minutes. We need scoring and energy off the bench, and he could possibly provide both. At least give him the chance to prove that by siphoning minutes away from Gabe Vincent. The worst he can do is fail and produce a stat line roughly equivalent to Gabe's. 2) Trade JHS' (very tradeable) contract alongside someone like a Gabe Vincent or D-Lo in exchange for better depth. Something like Kessler/Clarkson from Utah would be a really great fit there. The more pieces that can be packaged in that trade, the better. Free up roster space. 3) Sign Dwight. If nothing else he's a solid veteran presence and a bigger, stronger center who can give you 12-15 minutes when Jax is outsized. Finally... Christian Wood and Vando, if (IF) they can come back healthy, will raise the ceiling of this team. C-Wood can score 10-12 per game, Vando is one of the most disruptive defenders I've ever seen... and for a team currently sitting on the margins those can be significant impacts - but they're still a while away. We need meaningful changes in the short term with the hope of significant boosts in the longer term from those two guys.
