Hi Keith, Because I have broken the foot leash many times while surfing, and even the hull has cracked. Because the surfski is parallel to the wave, the impact of the breaking wave is very strong, and the foot leash are fixed on the bow. When the pressure is too high i will release the surfski so that the bow can be easy release the impact of the wave, and quickly pull the boat back after the impact and then remount. I have used it in the wave area for many years it is my best setting.
Wow, that's way more stylish way of mounting the ski than what I would do! You should trademark that method before everyone starts catching onto it. 10 our of 10.
