You dont need too....Wrap it once or two times max as it cant slip if the spool/drag is tight ive never had a problem and thats casting two to eight ounce leads with bait from the beach 14ft 2" sandstorm rods and 8000 size reels. Make sure the top of the breakaway cannon is level with the top of the spool and just off center to the reel shaft and alls good😃👍
Good video and it showed me something I thought but haven't tried. I use at least a 50lb braid for crabbing and toss some very heavy snares. Two wraps on the cannon work but I never tried more.
Did you ever have the bail close as you release the canon trigger. I've had issues with the bail closing and snapping the hook and weight off. The reel is an okuma bait feeder. Never had an issue with casting without it.
Saw a video on this. It’s not you. I couldn’t explain how. It is the handle of the reel moving during the start of the cast and flipping the bail closed. The auto flipping feature when you start to reel after a cast. The guy took that feature off. I did the same. No more lost lures. Hope this helps
Good video I just have a a little bit of a constructive criticism. You may need to work on your casting technique a little. There’s a whole bunch a videos here. That would help you improve. Good luck
Interesting mounting position- I've never seen one mounted on the side of the rod.
Nice review, I didn’t know you wrapped it five times.
Seems to work best at 5, when I use less it slips.

It’s never closed on its own, but I’ve forgotten to open it once or twice, definitely operator error.

what a delicate human , hope fishing works out.
You ever try casting braid with a heavy rig on a long rod? Thought not or you wouldn't make such an ignorant comment.
The instructions say wrap twice 🤔
