I have a question working on the same car now. Most of the trim is anodized aluminum so was that removed during the polishing process or did you order new trim? Have pieces re anodized? If not how often does it need to be re polished?
What company did you get your quarters from? All the quarters on the market have to be altered because of the body line up above your lower quarter trim where the wheel lip trim goes is off by a bit. They suggest you install the lower rear patch panel to correct this. If you don`t do this the wheel lip molding does not line up with the indent in the quarter at the rear.
I am restoring a 1967 TEMPEST CUSTOM and I am going to clone it to a 66 gto. Have a lot of the panel bought so far but my outer wheel houses came in today and I think they are for a 1964 or 65 car. They are GOODMARK INDUSTRIES products. The inner are stamped 64-67 A-body but the outer have to be specific to a 66 or 67 car don`t they? I am in NOVA SCOTIA , CANADA.
+steven bonz We most definately are. The problem is that the GTO is mine and doesn't pay the bills! It will be ready for paint the end of the year and ready for the road in the spring. Winter is about to hit and I would get shot if it was on the road before April!
Sorry to say but NEVER use Scotch Brite pads on chrome it, will scratch it. Use 00-000 Brillo or SOS pads with coke. It will not only remove the light rust but it will polish the metal and take off any of the white discoloration. Then wax it to keep it looking good until you can afford to have it re-chromed or replaced. My Grandpa taught me that and I've been doing it like that for years and have never scratched the Chrome. Thanks for sharing guys, love the GTO series but I have to give this one a Thumbs down for bad advice on the chrome. Best Wishes n Blessings. Keith Noneya

+michael leblanc Yeah we ran into this. I'm not sure where the body shop got them from but it is the same body shop that is installing them. He knew what he was getting in to. I don't like supplying parts and having someone else install them because of quality issues so I try not to do it to others. What year is yours?
+DEBOSS GARAGE My car is a 67 TEMPEST CUSTOM SEDAN. I am going to clone it to a 66 gto. My car is a sedan but I plan on cutting all that post out to make it a hard top. If anyone out there in the listening form can advise me about this I would appreciate it. I have the gto VENT WINDOWS to install and the track for the roof weather stripping. I think my doors are different than a hard top in terms of lenght and the glass would be different also. I might have a problem of the door glass sealing to the quarter glass channel. Like I said any help would be great.
Weld in 3/8’rebar around inner lip
Did the guy at least receive a discount?
Great to see a quality CANADIAN youtube channel! I love it!
