Sunfyre must be protected 😥😥
Baby Sunfyre was so sweet with Aegon before the fight too 😭
I love grandma Vhagar. Her nickname is " the queen of destruction", she's the oldest, the biggest, the baddest, and she know it. This episode really leaned into the dragon's unique personalities.
Fun fact, Princess Alyssa, the mother of King Viserys and Prince Daemon, was the first and only other Targaryen known to have ridden Meleys. Shortly after the births of her sons, she took them on their first flights upon Meleys. Coincidentally, her husband and the father of the princes, Prince Baelon, rode Vhagar.
Girl I was a blubbering mess on Sunday night!!!!! The love and bond she had with her dragon was so beautiful. Those final looks to eachother to say goodbye, omg 😢😢😢😢
It was SO SAD!! I have literally been thinking about the poor dragons (and Rhaenys) all week 😩
“Princess Rhaenys made no attempt to flee. With a glad cry and a crack of her whip she turned Meleys to her enemies” - George RR Martin ‘Fire and Blood’
😢
Vhagar can step on men in full armor, crush them, and not even notice. I step on a Lego and I go down with a pathetic yipe. 😑
😂
I would think that the Grand Maester might be conversant in High Valyrian, so he probably got the gist of it, it's unlikely that anyone else at the table understood fully what was going on. I got the impression there that Aegon speaks it barely better than Tyrion did in GoT.
The young Blackwood lord who spoke with Daemon was indeed the (very) young man who offered his hand to Rhaenyra and got into a sword fight with the heckling Bracken (as has been mentioned, those families have been feuding for over 1000 years) and killed him.
Ahh okay I was wondering if that is who they were implying he was! Funny haha
Aemond is the next in line, which is also why he was wreckless during the battle. Probably figured two birds one stone
Aemond is probably next in line for the throne. The only other option is Aegon’s four year old daughter Jaehaera and I think they’ll want a grown man king rather than a little girl as queen.
Considering that Aegon's entire claim is based on the idea that a woman can't hold the Iron Throne, it would be odd for him to elevate his daughter over Aemond.
@@DigiCountthat isn’t the only basis for his claim. Rhaenyra committed treason by putting bastards in the line of succession.
@@havok6280 the plan to put Aegon on the throne was in place before Rhaenyra had any kids. Also, her situation is a bit different than most. Generally, the problem with illegitimate children in succession is that their paternity can't be confirmed and thus any inheritance they receive from their father would be contestable. However, Jace would inherit the throne through Rhaenyra herself, because she is the heir. The fact that she gave birth to Jace is not in question. There's no need to confirm his Targaryen parentage, because no one other than Rhaenyra can be his mother.
19:30 I hope she's OK in the end
A dance of dragons is the name of the whole civil war. Its also the name of this episode. The name of the battle is "Battle of rook's rest"
The name of the episode is "The Red Dragon and the Gold", which is IIRC also the name of the chapter about this battle in the book.
Ooohhhh that totally makes sense I don't know why I wasn't thinking of it that way but that is so helpful, thank you!!
Daemon´s bed being made of Weirwood is such a treasure chest for the book readers. :P
The Dance of the Dragons is the name of this whole conflict, not a specific battle. It was originally the name for the show until they switched it to “House of the Dragon.”
Oooh having the show be called The Dance of the Dragons would have hit so hard though!!
Aemond will be Lord Protector of the Realm until Aegon heals.
The producer said that Daemon keeps seeing Rhaneyra at this age, because this is when he fell in love with her
Ahh that makes sense
Is it weird to say I like the nail polish color? If so, my bad.
I don't think its weird! I liked the color too, thank you!! 💃🏻
I HAD TO POST FOOT PICS TO GET YOU ON THIS THRONE FFS!
My favorite episode yet, Daemon is a beast!
And p.edo
Dance of the Dragons is not a battle. It’s the name of the entire Targaryen civil war.
Don’t look it up or rewatch the Game of Thrones episodes that discuss it unless you want to be spoiled.
yes!! I was thinking it was just one battle for some reason but it of course its the whole war, luckily I don't really remember what was explained during the GoT episodes so it will still be a surprise/shock 😳
Rhaenys should have taken the offer that Daemon gave her back on EP1, the only way to take out Vhagar without dying in the process, was a tag team Meleys-Caraxes.. Next in line should be Maelor, youngest son of Aegon, but hes not on this series (yet?) for some reason. We should have 3 more dragons introduced this season, and dont worry.. Aegon and Sunfyre will have their revenge 😅
Not according to the book. It says Meleys had a chance one on one with Vhagar but Sunfyre tipped the scales against her.
@@havok6280 But according to the show, she didn't have a chance one on one. The maester who authored the book was wrong.
@kennyhudson9201 not necessarily. We don't know how a one-on-one would have played out.
@@havok6280 But we do know don't we? She wasn't able to get it done without Daemon.
I cried for the dragons fighting, getting hurt and killed....and dragons aren't even real :( (ok obviously none of this is real but you know what I mean)
yep they did a fantastic job giving them life.. sunfyre caught me off guard completely, he sound like a howling dog and acts like one cheering Aegon..
I've been wanting more dragon action from the show but not like this!! It was too much 😢
Do not rewatch GoT unless you want spoilers. Joffrey spoils the end of the war...
This could have been avoided if Rhenyes listened to Daemond. Them two could have killed Vagahr by now.
the queen didn’t sign off on that though
