Fun fact, this instrument comes from the Arabs. Their instrument is called Rabab, Eruopeans adapted it and adopted it into the Rebec.
Also another fun fact, what you are playing here sounds someout like an Andalusi Arabic Muwashshah (sung strophic poetry) from Al-Andalus called Jadaka al-Ghaithu.

Thanks ! I have been taught during my studies that bowed instruments originally come from the Far East and Asia. But yes, our Western instruments have ancestors in the Arabic medieval cultures. I will check this piece, thanks for the recommandation. ;)
